I chose this hotel (from the offer of a travel company) because of its location close to the bus station. The location is indeed very good. It is 5-10 minutes walk to the station, some 15 minutes walk to the main shopping street, it is surrounded by varius shops and restaurants (including several supermarkets). The hotel specializes in families with children and in other classical beach guests coming in groups. It is not so well suited for single travellers. The hotel comprises of two buildings - the tall one which seems to have suits and the small one (5 floors) which has single and double rooms. I guess the tall building may be a nice place to stay at. The small building faces a very noisy 24-hour bar, where every evening noisy live music is played till 11 PM (after 11 PM, it is still noisy but it is not live music). It is moreover, the same music (in English) every day. If you have good hearing, avoid single rooms on the first and second floors (second and third floors in the Bulgarian system). Those facing the street get the worse noise from the bar. Those facing the pool get this noise as well + you can hear everyone going up or down the stairs which are located behind the wall. I travel a lot and I am normally an easy traveller, happy

You don't expect much from a budget hotel, but there is some bare minimum requirements that this hotel simply does not meet. When we arrived, we were met my a receptionist who checked us in, handed our room key and did not say a single word! No "you can find your room on X floor" or "lunch time is ending in 1hr" or anything else. We had to figure out everything on our own. The room was very small, with two single beds (for a couple SIC!), tiny shower and some 40 year old 10 inch TV. Ok, budget hotel so you can live with that + we're not going on holidays to watch TV. But having 2 sockets in whole room, which included also a fridge and AC, is just sick. How people should choose if they want to have cold air or charged phone?! Furthermore, on the balcony there were a huge fan with a metal piece sticking out on the head level. It's really dangerous and not well-thought, I personally hit myself few times. Also, first time ever we had to put duvet cover on our own. Basically the cleaning lady changed the covers every day, but just left them as they were on the bed. If I wanted to make up bed on my own, I'd stay at home... In terms of food, the breakfast was great. Wide variety of products to select from, fresh etc. Everything that was served afterwards, well... On lunch you were allowed to choose 1 meat-like product + 5-6 salads. When they wanted to serve some additional dishes, they were barely eatable. The meat was dry, once-served fries were not fried enough etc. For dinner you got served everything that remained from lunch and breakfast. So anything you did not want for lunch, hurray! you got it for dinner. You could always choose a roll which was lying in the restaurant since breakfast, with the exception that you did not have anything to top the roll with. No ham, cheese, jam, nothing. Oh sorry, you could always eat a roll with olive fruit... The pool was nice, too bad it's open only 9-18 + the water slides are open only 11-16.30. The tiles around the pool are extremely slippy and dangerous. Basically every time you walk, you slip. I saw few kids hitting the floor hard, very fortunate not to have some serious injury. Other staff at the hotel were nice, too bad barely anybody spoke english. The animators at the pool are really nice guys. On positive side, they allowed us to keep our luggage after check out with no fee. I do not recommend this hotel. If the price is your only criteria, you might give a try but it definitely won't be a nice experience.

Late with the review. Went with my missus and daughter in August 2019. Style - the hotel does look out of date, but we were only going to sleep in the bed (which was very comfy) etc, we'd be out normally. Food - the food was nice, glad we came as it wasn't alot of English food (if you go to another country tend to try local food), some days we did go out for breakfast a few times which was again good food. With the drinks they were really nice pool bar opened at 11am til 10pm, went all inclusive so beer, cocktails and soft drinks were sooo nice. Staff - staff were plesent and friendly, cleaners worked from morning til night which is good as the place was spotless. Hotel other things - - Pool - pool was amazing, good size to swim opened from 9am til 6pm (think). The water slides were sooo much fun 10.30am til 4.30pm. -- Childrens entertainment - they did kids activities nearly everyday including a disco which we can look at on the terrace. We have booked to go back next year.

Our holiday started 14th September. At this time the resort is winding down. When we arrived on Saturday the resort was busy but by the following Saturday it was almost empty. It was a nice time to visit as I was told that in high season it can be very busy and noisy in this part of town. We were met at 11.30 p.m by the very nice receptionist, Tatiana, who made us feel very welcome. We were give a sandwich and fruit as it was so late at night. The reception area was just as it is in the pictures, modern and clean. A couple of comfortable seats would be welcome! The bedrooms were small and in need of updating. The sheets were too small for the beds. The room was spotlessly clean. The towels were changed every morning by the very pleasant Ayisha The food was mediocre. It was very repeatitive. A little bit of imagination and some fresh vegetables would be welcome There are lots of nice restaurants in the surrounding area and it is very cheap to eat out.. Again the dining room was spotlessly clean. Local alchol was included. There was nowhere comfortable to sit on the night that it rained. A comfortable bar would be welcome. The pool area was lovely. As the hotel was not too busy there was always lots of room at the poolside and there is also a nice shaded area. The staff at the Iskar were very pleasand and efficient. Would I recommend the Iskar? Yes certainly at the time of year that we visited

We stayed at the Iskar at the end of August for a family holiday. The rooms certainly weren’t luxury, but they were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable, also there was air con in the room. The food was excellent. It was mostly Bulgarian, but I’m a vegetarian and made a good, tasty plate every day. My 8 year old step daughter also loved the food. There were snacks available by the pool, and ice cream in the afternoons (the melon ice cream was especially delicious!). Really, what we chose this hotel for was the pool which, as for the rest of the hotel, was spotlessly clean, as were the sun loungers and tables. The pool was huge so you could swim without being crowded, and we could always find a sun lounger. Cocktails from the pool bar were lovely and alcohol was certainly not skimped on! The beer was good too. Water slides were really fun. As for the rest, it’s five minutes to the beach, and there are shops all around. There’s also a currency exchange and little shop in the hotel. It’s excellent value for the price. Would definitely recommend the Iskar and we hope to return next year.
