I don’t understand why it’s a 4 Star resort? 1 star is too much. No entertainment facilities or music. Staff were so sad looking all the time. The ‘juice’ was not juice at all and none of the soft drinks are genuine sprite, Coca Cola etc. None of the coffee machines worked during our stay and only 1 water tap for the whole food hall.

Food was average, mostly cold and drenched in oil. Salad bar saved the day for me. Food hall floor was filthy and cutlery and plates rarely replenished when empty! I ate my salad with a spoon.

Pool area chairs are mostly broken and pool water insanely cold? No music or atmosphere in the pool area. Snack bar was decent in the pool area with ice cream pops, fries doughnuts etc.

Rooms were decent but bedding was so so so poor. Pillows uncomfortable.

Beach outside area was so lovely 13.50 bg for the day which is not included in an all inclusive package.

This place needs massive refurbishment

I stayed at the Chaika mid-sept for a week with family. I admit I had read reviews of the hotel and was concerned but you never really know what it's going to be like until you get there.

I consider myself to be a fair reviewer of hotels and for this reason I have given it an average rating. This was because of the location and not much more.

When you arrive at reception you are greeted with a luxury feel but don't be fooled, that is the most luxury you will find. Upon arriving at our room I could not open the door as the door handle was loose in the door. I asked reception to assist which they did but despite asking on several occasions regarding the door handle nothing was repaired. I simply had to fight to lock and unlock the door throughout my stay.

It was just myself and my mum and the room had 2 single beds made up as well as a sofa bed. As this was not needed I put the sofa bed away to make more space in the room and underneath the sofa bed was a load of rubbish including a broken fidget spinner, crisps, crayons and general dirt and grime. This did not get there from the people before us this must have been there for weeks. I asked reception to clean it and it was only done the following day.

My mum and I both took a packet of antibacterial wipes each and were glad we did as we used them to clean every surface our stuff touched. It was not clean at all!

The bathroom had a drain grate in it which was filthy and the toilet leaked causing water to go all over the floor. The maids simply put towels down everyday.

We only had breakfast included but for me it was pretty inedible. You can't really go wrong with breakfast surely, but I went to get some fruit and turned out there were baskets of plastic fruit! The only fruit they had were apples which looked like rejects and were all bruised. I had breakfast once and then ate out. If you want a hot drink you have to either pay for a cup or drink out of a plastic cup. I have never seen this before ever!

There are 2 pools; one within the resort (which I did go in) and one beach side. The pool was freezing but I think that is fairly normal, however it was not cleaned at all. There is sand all in the bottom of the pool and there are tiles missing. The draining around the outside of the pool has seen better days and is filthy and broken in parts. I actually fell threw some of the grating but luckily I wasn't injured.

From photos of the hotel the beach side pool shows a children's pool and smaller jacuzzi area. These do not exist anymore. They have been filled in and a couple of palm trees have been planted. I suspect the reason for this is because management could no longer maintain the whole pool area and it shows.

There are several smaller issues which I feel I should mention but they all amount to the hotel being in disrepair. The deterioration of the hotel is evident within the rooms and communal areas. This is not seasonal disrepair, this is years of management neglect. This place has the potential to be stunning and luxurious but at a push it is a very low three star budget hotel. I have stayed in hostels better equipped.

The plus side is the hotel is in a perfect location for Sunny Beach. Be careful about what room you are placed in though as the noise from the bars on the strip can keep you awake to the early hours of the morning.

I would return to sunny beach but not to this hotel, despite being in a great location.

arrived early hours of the morning and the bell boys refused to leave without a tip. not really a good start especially seeing as though we were 4 young girls travelling on our own. bit of a bad start to the holiday really. the hotel itself is very shabby once you get past the nice entrance hall. The rooms are basic but cleaned everyday. The maid was the highlight and only friendly person at this hotel. She was absolutely nutty and couldn't speak a word of English but still made the effort and made us feel welcome. The reception staff were extremely rude and didnt have the time of day for you. Not enough sun loungers by the pool despite getting up at 7 in the morning. If you sunbathe in the back pool, you have to move round as the sun disappears. The hotel is in a great location however for the nightlife. Its a 5 min walk to the party square (best club by far is Den Glade Viking..... really good bar crawls with them) but you are far enough away for not to be noisy all night. 24 hour subway nearby really isnt 24 hours but stays open until 3ishhhh. eating out is really cheap and theres an amazing chinese near the Posieden Hotel on the main road. The castle next door to the hotel is also quite good for a snack.

Sunny beach is by far the best resort i have stayed at, I would just pick a slightly nicer hotel for the money you would pay to stay here. Its part of the Victoria Group of hotels and all the locals will tell you its the best of a bad bunch out of them all.

Dont let this review stop you going to sunny beach..... amazing resort and make sure you check out Den Glade Viking/The Happy Viking. I can guarantee that you will have the best night of your lives if your up for a laugh and a drink.

Don’t be fooled by old pictures of this hotel, I was sold nothing like the reality of it. Wish I had read reviews and chose elsewhere!

Stayed for 4days, glad wasn’t any longer was looking at other hotels after day one!
Dirty pools / ice cold /broken concrete /drainage around the pools unsafe & broken so massive holes, gaps in the floor (safety hazard) wasn’t any no umbrellas unlike the pictures you see on websites, dirty broken sun beds.
Appalling pool snack bar was expecting toasties or fresh fruit NOPE was dry pizza and mouldy apples clearly had been made early and left out all day nothing replaced.

No variety of foods so breakfast, lunch and dinner was all the same, unappetising & nothing was freshly made. One kitchen staff present cleaning up plates very miserable looking unapproachable.
No butter for bread no sauces it was dry
Broken coffee machines, asked for coke but was given a blank look, asked for Fanta got given a syrupy drink that tasted awful, even the water machine needed a clean was a murky colour.
Dessert was melon or soggy croissant / no ice cream!!
Unhappy staff / don’t understand English /Didn’t interact with guests, rude and snappy all I asked was for a plaster or if had a first aid kit.
Free WiFi (only in reception)
Out dated hotel/room (stained sheets, sand in bed was from previous guests, thin mattress can feel springs)
Towels had orange stains on, only 1 toilet roll.
Cracks in walls/floors/ old decor
No hot water ice cold shower, apparently there’s hot water at certain times but whenever I seemed to have one it was ice cold.
Broken plug sockets in the room
Paper thin walls can hear EVERYTHING.

No entertainment although advertised so.
Irish bar, nothing Irish about it’s always empty
I was looking forward to going to the spa, don’t think was open no signs for treatments or opening times, so understaffed and tbh I was kind of scared to go down to it after seeing the rest of the hotel 🙈
4 stars apparently pfft it’s 1 if that, so disgraceful worst hotel stayed in. I am actually shocked at how run down it is.
Should be a self catering hotel instead
Hotel has potential but unfortunately run by poor management needs a massive refurb! Shambles

Only plus side was great location right on the beach, strip is about a 5-10min walk. Great restaurants a couple steps away. New air-con system in room, free use of safe in room.

Hi, we spent our holiday in this hotel which has 4stars but it worth just three or less. I do not recommend this hotel to people who want STANDARD accommodation. Food was not hot, mainly cold, one long desk for 3 complexes, one machine for drink. Water just from the machine, the juice is mainly water because the juice is out of the machine. Cleaning is terrible, no clean towels, duvets are dirty. The air conditioner dropped above us. One elevator at the reception, not enough. In the room we won’t able to charge our phone normally, we had to plug out the fridge.. we did not have hot water, just in the morning time and from 9pm. The view from our room was great because we had our balcony to the beach. From outside this resort looks good, but in the inside you just disappointed. We had all inclusive, but we missed loads of hot food, more kind of foods, drinks. The drinks from the bar were just mixed with juice and one alcohol.
We enjoyed the beach, it was clean and the beach service was great.
I can imagine that this resort was great many years before, but now it needs reconstruction.

My partner & I visited on an All Inclusive package through loveholidays & handed in the keys after 2 nights. The Hotel was very dirty & in need of a makeover, broken tiles, sun loungers. It has two pools, one is used by the guests coming off the beach to clean their feet - no one swims in it, you can't see the bottom for dirt. The second is used but is covered in litter during the day from the cold pizza & chips offered outside the restaurant hours. Our room had a broken TV remote, no safe key, a totally ineffective air con plus several other broken items that we reported to reception - no one came to fix them. The restaurant was a total health hazard that we were scared to eat in, the food standard was 1* not 4*, no one cleared tables, they were left piled high with plates & left over food. Loveholidays were no help to start suggesting we report everything to the hotel, after the 2nd night we handed in the keys & went to a lovely Airbnb. After a few days loveholidays came up with a refund of £650.
