If you're staying with a group of friends, looking to have fun and party then this place would be great, with family or for a touristy trip I wouldn't recommend. At night there was loud music playing from outside but since we had all-inclusive it didn't bother us, because all-inclusive also means free alcohol..
The views from the rooms were mostly great, my room however, had a view of some trees and a bird's nest..
Location (5 min to the beach, 3 min to the bus stop, 1 min to the supermarket)
Rooms with balconies, airconditioning, TV, fridges
Lots of fruit for breakfast
-
Poor Wi-Fi (you have to be lucky and insistent to get connected)
Noisy restaurants near the hotel prevent from sleeping at night
Low-cost food for the most part, though something was nice as well (we had breakfasts only) and defective dinnerware
I must add to my previous review: used hotel WiFi everywhere from the furthest corner of the pool to the shop outside. That's a big plus for anyone who rates it. Didn't use the inside pool but it's spotless. Hotel is available for conferences. Maria and Toni are the smiliest and most helpful staff.
The rooms were cleaned daily, sheet and towels changed once during the week.
Shower worked perfectly, plenty of hot water both in the morning and in the afternoon getting ready for a night out.
The pool area had plenty of sunbeds but the water was very cold - so went to beach instead for our swim and came back to sunbathe and have drinks in poolbar.
we went BB, and breakfast was ok - bread, cereals, fruit, coffee, tea etc.
Dont go all inclusive in sunny beach as there is so many cheap, good restaurants nearby, beer still 1 leva in many places and happy hour around the clock almost everywhere.
This hotel doesnt offer any kind of luxery - it is a clean place to rest your head after a hard day/night in sunny beach and for the money we dont expect more.
The hotel is right next to bars with karaoke, livebands and people getting drunk, so expect nighttime to be noisy, but this is true for most of sunny beach. Its not the kind of place you go for a peaceful and quiot vacation.
Hoping to return next year and would definately stay in the Azurro again.
The toilet failed to flush, the bathroom extractor projected an awful sewage smell which turned on automatically with the light switch so couldn't be avoided. There were no DO NOT DISTURB signs so constantly had maids knocking the door to clean room whilst we were trying to sleep. The food was inedible and seating did not fulfil the number of guests accommodated, and the same problem for sun-bed availability by the pool. Food was inedible, literally (see picture). Staff didn't speak English until they wanted to make you aware of rules and regulations such as bar drinks being forbidden in the restaurant, so water, poor-tasting 'fruit juice' and cheap wine were the only drinks available in the restaurant to drink with meals. All inclusive guests had to pay for any hot drinks outside of breakfast time, which finished at 10am. I ate breakfast one time and found a grey hair buried into my toast which had obviously contaminated the loaf that was baked and sliced, as it was inside the bread (see photo).
Water was not allowed off the premises, so still had to buy bottled water when leaving the hotel, which was every day due to the poor quality and service we were surrounded by. Allocated meal times were given at check in, one of which was 'tea time' during the afternoon where tea cakes and pastries were advertised with a selection of tea and coffee. However, the only tea available was a weak and poor tasting herbal tea and some miniature biscuits that were dry and tasteless.
Excursion and information booklets at front desk were available in several languages but excluded English so we had to find an excursion place elsewhere to book desired excursions.
Staff were not welcoming or did not give a farewell at the end of our stay. Felt discriminated against and generally uncomfortable through poor treatment from both staff and guests in hotel Azurro. I would recommend Bulgaria as a place to visit, it is wonderful, however hotel Azurro does not represent Bulgaria or Sunny Beach at all. DO NOT stay here!
We booked a couple of trips through Chris which were all really good. If you want a nice relaxing day after a few mad nights out I would defiantly recommend the boat trip. We also went on a jeep safari which was fun but I wouldn’t recommend doing what we did and go on the safari the day after going on the pub crawl! It’s not a good idea getting back to your hotel at 8am and then trying to stay awake on the jeeps. I would defiantly recommend the Thomas Cook pub crawl but be warned you will be drunk before you leave the 1st pub as they have rules and if you get caught breaking the rules you will be forced to down your drinks! All fun though!
We only went to one club during the week which was Iceberg and I would defiantly recommend you try it out. There is a band playing every night which play really good music. We had one of our best nights in Iceberg.
One of the other good things about Sunny Beach is you can’t spend your money!! It is sooo cheap! I only spent £230 in the week and £80 of that was on trips. I was taking out about £25 each night and that was for a 2 course meal with plenty of wine and then a full night out drinking! There are plenty of places to eat and we were impressed with most places we tried. I wouldn’t recommend Fenix as the service is terrible. We had some good nights in Amigos and the Happy Duck.
Overall I really enjoyed the holiday and would defiantly go back.
This was a nightmare holiday from hell and although we were all inclusive, we were bullied every time we asked for a drink or any information.
THE MANAGERESS PUNCHED ME on my arm and all the reception staff circled us and tried to punch my son behind me. They also tried to STEAL HIS MOBILE PHONE AS WE SAID WE WOULD CALL THE POLICE!!!!!
We were forced to leave the hotel 40 hours early and pay to stay elsewhere due to feeling so intimidated.
Rep was a complete waste of time.
The bar, reception, cleaners and management staff were extremely rude and threatening. On several occasions we saw them treat other guests appallingly.
The only positive thing I can say that some of the food was okay and the restaurant staff were not quite as rude.
Full of Russians, barely any English. The Russians took great delight in elbowing us out the way to get food (cattle market springs to mind).
PLEASE LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS, I DON'T USUALLY COMPLAIN, BUT IF I CAN STOP OTHERS GOING THROUGH WHAT WE WENT THROUGH, IT WILL BE WORTH IT.
the holiday cost us twice as much due to us eating out most of the time and going out the way every night to avoid any trouble with the staff.
I don't even want to give them 1/10 for any of the ratings.
I was too scared to ring the Police after being assaulted at the hotel as they were that threatening.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!
Look at the review below mine as it mentions my son and I being bullied and forced to leave.
I also have a video of this and will be posting on YouTube.
I will also be complaining to Teletext who I felt stitched us right up.
"all the rooms had a balcony facing the resort where the sun never shone but the front doors looked over the pool and got the sunshine.."Read full review
