First impressions were not good as we were dropped off late and not near reception and not told where to go... However it did get better the room was acceptable could have had a few more accessories like a microwave. But it was clean and comfortable also cleaned every day. The bar is very friendly and run by a great host who makes everyone welcome . Overall it was worth the money we paid and not nearly as bad as some of the reviews we read.

The Efir Holiday Village is not a hotel, it is a brand new apartment complex and offers a great location in Sunny Beach with spacious apartments. I was simply amazed at how much value we received. We stayed here during the peak of tourist season, beginning of July, for only $100 per night. For this money we stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment complete with a huge living room and fully equipped kitchen, along with 3, yes 3, balconies. One of the balconies overlooks the Black Sea. This complex is located at the northern end of Sunny Beach and only a 5 minute walk to the main boardwalk, directly behind a 5 star resort called Victoria Palace.
The front desk staff was very friendly and check-in took less than 5 minutes. Our apartment had Wi-Fi and everything looked brand new.
The drawbacks are that this complex is not very large and so the pool is quite basic as is the bar area. However, the great location more than makes up for the lack of amenities as you can simply walk to evrything you desire. The bus stop is directly in front of Efir and you can reach Nessebar, Sveti Vlas or the southern area of Sunny Beach within minutes. there is also a small grocerys store below the complex that sells the main necessities.
Overall I would recommend this apartment if you desire a quiter, more family friendly environment than you would otherwise recieve at a larger resort directly on the boardwalk. The fact that this complex is behind the first line hotels offers a better value and quiter conditions.

Travelled with my wife the first 2 weeks of July. As per usual Thomas Cook flights are bloody awful, getting you there at 3 in the morning. The transfers from Burgas airport are well organised and didn't take long to be greeted , and led to the mini bus. Transfer in takes about 35 mins, and was uneventful. The nice driver of the mini bus ran in the the reception area and checked that it was the right Efir hotel, as this has happened before (a nice touch). Given room key, and then then the £100 surprise. You have to pay this amount to cover breakages in the room (if there are any). So anyone travelling make sure you have this to hand , although I'm sure they will wait until the morning (hang on ! It was morning !). The apartment was very nice, possibly recently furnished and lovely and clean. Main living area (L Shaped settee/bed, table and 4 chairs, unit, TV (don't bother...nothing on !), 2 ring hob, toaster, kettle, utensils (count them , or they will charge...4 of everything), pots, pans, plates etc etc , and a corkscrew (wife happy ….wine !) . Bedroom (double bed (broke on day 2..handyman duly called, came bearing drill and wood, and all fixed in 20 mins). The bathroom has 2 things you need to know about. 1.) there is an immersion heater over the bath. When 2 showers have been taken , then the dial goes back to cold, so beware. 2.) there is a pull cord over the toilet. Do not, repeat , do not pull this thinking its the light switch. Its the SOS cord, so after the Missus thought she was putting the light off, Security duly arrived in 2 mins. Nice balcony with clothes dryer. Bedroom also has 1 set of drawers (x 5) and 1 wardrobe , so not a great amount of room. The pool area is limited for sunbeds, so unless you are prepared to get up at 4.30 -5.00 in the morning, you wont get 1 . I didn't so subsequently spent most days at the beach (lovely beaches...£4 per bed, £4 per brolley, and loads and loads of bars , shops, restaurants to drink/eat/shop at. Directions to beach, leave hotel, turn left till you come to the crossing(you will see Aldo shop opposite). Cross and keep heading straight, both side roads lead to the beach. There is a small bar / cafe ,near the hotel (just opposite the Ivana Palace) called Friends. Its handy and friendly. There is a bus stop outside the hotel. The number 1 bus takes you to Flower Street, and Nessabar. Don't worry about price . Its 60p, however far you go. Shopping is cheap (or so she told me ). Food is ultra cheap..never paid more that £20 for 2 (that's starters, main course and drinks). Beer on its own is giveaway . The most expensive pint I saw was 3 Lev ...£1.40, and there are some for 1 Lev, approx 45p. Supermarkets are open 24 hours, and most importantly, the place feels safe. The Bulgarian people are lovely and always look please to see you/ serve you. Treat them well, and a tip goes a long way

Very impressed with the quality of their work. Clean every day everywhere. Plenty of space in the room. Refrigerator and some small electrical equipment. Lack of microwave oven but... it is OK.
Pool with excellent bar and bartender.
ONLY payed WiFi access but... not fatal.
Payment options the... Cash only. Pay on check-in is also a frustrating issue. Great service above all. Sure a place in my favourites. Everything is near to this hotel. Beach, Market(s), transport (buses, taxis)

The one bedroom apartment I was in fantastic. Cleaning staff came in everyday. Central to the promenade.

A beautiful walk along the sea front. The local bus stops outside. Which is great for getting around. I would definitely recommend The Efir. And I will be returning again.

I have never visited Bulgaria before and had seen plenty of bad reviews both about Sunny Beach and the Hotel. Arrived at the hotel and was presented with an Itinery of the rooms contents and had to pay a 200LEV deposit which we got back at the end. (Provided you don’t smash the room up or break anything)

Room was large and had a bathroom,
sitting room, bedroom, kitchen and 2 balconies. The balcony was good as you could see all the Irish taking their Conor
McGregor towels and flags in after he got battered by Mayweather (get in).

Staff that we spoke to were nice, particularly the woman who worked behind the bar at
the pool.

I had read people complaining about the
temperature of the pool, it was freezing but there’s the lovely warm sea 5 minutes walk away. Problem solved.

I had also read people complaining about
only certain sides of the pool area getting any sun, solution- Get off your backside and move your sun lounger or go down to beach!

All in all this was a steady little hotel for the price we paid, I couldn’t pick any fault with it. We tend to just use hotels as somewhere to sleep rather than sit inside watching TV like some people seem to want to!!!

Spent 90% of the time at the beach (which is immaculate) and down in the bars and restaurants on the sea front. Again, couldn’t fault any of it for the prices we were paying.

We are going back to Sunny Beach this year but at a different hotel as this one wasn’t available!

Also the water park is absolutely quality near to Nessebar. I think it was called Action Aqua Park. You can catch a bus for free from outside the hotel on the main road.

As the daughter of a owner of an apartment at efir we have been coming for a number of years and still every year we come it's a clean friendly calming environment! The pool is perfect for the children and also has a play room with a few toys to keep the kids happy. The location is perfect just across the crossing too the main strip supermarket attractions and much more. And lastly the bar and bar staff Pete and Georgina are like our Bulgarian family fantastic with us and the children we wish them all the best in life and hope too see them for as long as we return

The hotel itself is very clean and the staff are all very friendly. We think it is a mixture of holiday makers and also local Bulgarian people renting the apartments themselves. It is not really a hotel for the party people who want the atmosphere and party life in Bulgaria. It is a five minute walk to the strip of local bars and restaurants and shops but to the main party strip it is a good 20-25 minute walk. There is a little pool bar which is run by the same people every day and they are always welcoming and friendly. There is an array of drinks on offer and a special cocktail menu that offers buy one get one free all day on certain cocktails. I fully recommend the blue Hawaii ... The bar also offers some snacks and some cooked foods which are very tasty and as always reasonably priced. The pool at the hotel is salt water and is quite chilly but is very clean and inviting even on those cloudy days!

The rep at the hotel was a disappointment. The welcome meeting was virtually non existent. As we hadn't been to this area of Bulgaria before we were keen to know from the rep what the surrounding area was like, the prices, where to find good food and drink and to hear about the trips offered by Thompson. Instead we got handed a leaflet containing limited information on the trips and had a five minute conversation that told us how to get to the beach which we had figured ourselves in the five hours we had been in the resort. We had also been interested in one of the trips to khans tent but trying to get hold of the rep to book anything was difficult as when we asked her when she was in she would say yes but then when we checked the board we would see she wasn't actually in. We were left until four hours before we were due to go on the trip to find any information and then there was confusion before we got there. There was then issues with travel to the trip due to late booking and trouble with food. These were sorted and we really enjoyed the trip. The khans tent trip is well worth going on it's a fun night and includes food and some drinks.

The area around the hotel is a fairly busy road but this didn't bother us. There is a supermarket at the side of the hotel as well as a trusted money exchange. They recommend using Crown exchange places as there were stories of people being ripped off and being given different currencies at other exchange places.

The beach is a clean and nice beach with quite a bit of waves to make it fun. There was always a breeze when we were at the beach which is nice.

The beach then has all of the bars and shops along the back of it and there is plenty to do and see. If you walk the whole length of the shops and bars along the beach you can be walking for about 40-50 minutes. The shops are all selling a lot of the same things but if you like to buy bags and clothes this is the place to do so. There are lots to choose from and all is of good quality. The bars along the strip all have some forms of cocktail happy hour with buy one get one free on their set cocktails and some on all the cocktails. There are some that are time limited for example between 5pm and 9pm and others just run all day. The average cocktail on happy hour is about 10-11 Levs which is about £3-4. The local Beer is quite nice and is about 2-3 Levs for a pint which is about £1.20. The food is really nice and there is a lot to choose from. You can eat a nice meal for two with a starter to share, a main meal each, a pudding to share and two drinks for about £15. We were here for the Euro games and on the England game stayed in one bar, La Bamba, and ate a starter, 2 mains, a pudding and 5 drinks each and the night costs 75 Levs which was approximately £30 for a whole night. It is good value for money.

We didn't go to the strip of clubs at nighttime but did go down in the day and it was a lively area again with lots of offers and lots of things to do and try.

Overall this was a nice holiday and we would definitely go back and recommend Bulgaria to anyone whether it be people with a family or a couple of a stag/hen party. Bulgaria suits all types of people!

Can't fault the apartment but the weather was a big let down but we were just unlucky There are two entrances to the complex 1 near the reception and 1 behind the pool bar At night there was a security man at the reception Maid came everyday towels and bedding changed twice
The apartment itself was well equipped toaster kettle 2 ring hob and fridge - not that we cooked as eating out was sooo cheap For example 2 x mains litre of house wine 1 x dessert we never paid more than 50lev which is roughly £22/23
A large beer between 1.50 and 3lev depending on where you were One word of advice make sure your under your weight allowance because you will be amazed by the price of copy designer clothes We bought tshirts 4 years ago and they are still good now
The beach is a short walk away if you cut through the car park opposite you'll cut a fair bit off though not advisable after dark as there's no lights
Eating out as I've said is very cheap the only downside is there's not much choice its seems they all have the same menu
In all this is a inexpensive hoilday and ideal for doing you Christmas shopping as we did!

It's salt water. However the reports if it's cold are wrong! When you are baking, it is refreshing certainly not cold. Enjoy 😀
