Just back from Bulgaria after 2 wks hotel was changed from mercury to viand because of closure. Weren't sure what to expect but was very surprised everything was fine. Hotel viand was 4* but we rate 3* we were all inclusive there was no toaster, sausages (hot dogs) , no ice cream , fried eggs cold , always chicken fish pork , no entertainment nothing major. However the staff were very friendly very helpful drinks were plentiful overall holiday was great hotel situated in close range of pubs and restaurants and very close to strip . Just a few hiccups but generally overall perfect holiday.

We returned from the hotel yesterday. I rate the hotel well. Rooms clean and cleaned every day. The staff is nice and very helpful, especially the ladies at the reception. A very big advantage of the hotel is its location - right on the beach. In addition, if you choose a room with a view of the sea, the view is beautiful.
Now it is time for the weaker points. First of all, the food - is unfortunately monotonous and mostly tasteless (although there were a few exceptions). The small pool is also a disadvantage, but I didn't take it into account in rating, because it is something we expected from the pictures.
The animation programme for adults is rather poor, however for children it is very nice, the animator was very nice and immediately gained the sympathy of my daughter. Other attractions for children include a small playground in the garden.
A huge minus, but this is very subjective, are omnipresent smokers (unfortunately it was impossible to eat outside or lie down on the loungers).
Generally, if you care about beautiful views, closeness to the sea, and food is not an important issue for you, I recommend it.

I am writing this while staying at hotel Viand. The first thing that came into my attention is that no one respects the hygene rules. No one wears masks, not even the staff. Meanwhile the world is struggling to control the virus... În my opinion, it is outrageous.

The rooms are quite spacious, but definitely not the cleanest I've ever seen. Just a small bar of soap în the bathroom, for three persons. I vad to clean the toilet modele, as it was obviously poorly cleaned.

Let's hope the food is better....

This hotel is not 4 star.
I made a reservation for 2 rooms 2 famillies and
we asked to have neighboring rooms.
The lady at the reception, was very naughty by the way, she said she didn’t have neighboring rooms, then we at least asked to give it to
same floor.... same she also replied very naughtily that she don’t have. What management is this?
In the rooms the dryer
hair doesn't work and don't tell me it's because of covid because it works in other rooms. non-functional bulbs and sockets. I'm not talking about food, disaster, you don't really have anything to eat. have you heard of french fries?

Very disappointed. this is the 3rd time we come to sunny beach. I have not suffered such a thing. you ruined our vacation. You do nothing to please the customer.

Change the lady at the reception. spoils the image of the hotel. you can't get along with her

+location, next to the beach
+nice staff
+clean
+drinks and food are ok
+Sunny Beach is interesting city
-small pool
-no animations, I've seen some for kids but it looked poor

Overall good hotel for people who thinks that location is the most important or people who want hotel next to beach and peaceful atmosphere. I'm not sure if it's good hotel if u want to have fun in hotel with group of friends or family. For me it was quite boring, but maybe it's because of COVID, I was in this hotel in August 2020.

7-days all-inclusive for 600 EUR is not adequate for this type of hotel due to:
- food (not taste or no-taste at all, not fresh, small variety)
- local drinks or alc-free beverage at the bar (bad quality alternative to known brands)
- some of staff not friendly at all
- pool too small (only for children)
- wifi only at reception

My friend and I were staying in Viand for a week in mid-July and did not regret. Here is my detailed review with all pros and cons.

1. HOTEL
Hotel was modern and beautiful. It reminded me of a sand castle. Everything was clean and stylish. However, Viand has weaknesses as well as other hotels but it is nothing important.

The check-in is as usual at 14.00. We arrived around 11.00. We had expected that we did not get the room but the hotel did not give us the all-inclusive bracelets before 14.00 too. The lunch ended at 14.00 so we were starving till dinner. I have never seen something like this. Take into account this in case you arrive early just like us. It is better to have a snack.

The hotel does not take credit cards. Viand has its own exchange office (1 € = 1,91 lv) with no commissions. I understand why Viand does not want to take credit cards. This is the easiest way how to make a bit of money but it is kind of unprofessional for 4* hotel.

The last weakness of the hotel is food. I have never seen so small range of food in 4* hotel. Moreover, the meal was still repeated. It was tasty but when you eat fish fingers with potatoes four times over you have enough. Besides, there was dill everywhere, in salads, fishes, potatoes etc. I was surprised that it was not in desserts. I love dill but enough is enough! Also, the Italian dinner was such a joke. If somebody told Italian that it was their cuisine, they would laugh at them. But I cannot say it was disgusting. I always found something good I could eat, so do not worry.

The positive thing about the hotel is a fact that you can prolong your check-out for reasonable price (50 lv – until 19.00), which is very comfortable when you leave in evening.

2. BEACH
Viand lies right on the long beach with many bars (the hotel does not have beach bar). Beach is clear and full of little seashells. However, the beach is divided into two strips. The first strip is closer to the sea and full of deckchairs and umbrellas. We were nicely surprised that it was possible to buy just an umbrella or a single deckchair. Every piece cost 8 lv per day, which is reasonable price. You can not lie there unless you buy at least one thing. The second strip is for people who do not want to pay. It is free but without umbrellas and deckchairs.

3. SEA
The sea was absolutely transparent. However, it was full of life. There are lots of jellyfishes but they are harmless. There were beautiful huge blue-violet jellyfishes. You could avoid them because they literally stick out a mile. But there were plenty of small transparent jellyfishes. It was quiet unpleasant to touch them while swimming. On the other hand, once you touch it you get used to it. I also saw small crabs, so the water is really clean.

4. SURROUNDINGS
Viand lies in the very centre of Sunny Beach. The centre is full of shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, sex shops, tattoo studios etc. You can buy wooden penises stylized as opener and so on in every single shop. There were girls dancing on bars, drunk people on streets, weirdos, loud music etc. That is why I do not think it is the right place for children but I can definitely recommend it to young people. We had a great time at nights in Sunny Beach centre. Especially a bar called Oxygen was great (unlimited free drinks for girls, great music, plenty of foreigners). If you go to Sunny Beach and search for party, go to Oxygen.

For those who like trips there is an ancient town called Nesebar (15 minutes by bus). Nesebar is cosy and full of small shops and restaurants. Absolutely lovely!

To sum up, I can definitely recommend the hotel. You get what you pay for. :-)

Defiantly not a 4 star more like a 2 star , could not check in on arrival had to wait until 14.00 but for a fee we could check in straight away , this would still not give us access to the all inclusive but again for a fee we could access it , sorry was not paying again to access room or all inclusive facilities so we waited and went to the beach bar for refreshments . Choice of food was very poor only 3 choice at evening meal chicken , pork or tasteless pasta all of which were cold , snacks that we offered throughout the day very poor and again cold , no entertainment in the evenings and very limited entertainment for the children. Staff and manager very rude and spoke very little English. Due to us having a late flight and the hotel offering late check out facilities we inquired about this but was told no rooms available so we asked where we could shower and change and we were told to use the poolside shower and change in the baggage room not acceptable for a 4 star hotel . On leaving we were presented with a bill for alcohol that we were supposed to have taken from the mini bar in the room but refused to pay as we had not taken them , asked to speak to manager and she insisted that we had taken the alcohol and when we denied this she basically called us liars and thieves and that her staff do not steal . I would not recommend this hotel to any British people as it was geered for Germans and Russians . Definitely would not go back worse all inclusive hotel we have ever stayed in.

Me and my partner stayed at The Viand Hotel for one week in July. We were originally booked in at The Fenix but 2 days before we were due out we were informed the hotel had overbooked us and were offered the The Viand. Found the hotel to be very nice, our room was very spacious with a lovely bathroom. The cleaners came in each day to change the towels. The breakfast was ok nothing special, good selection though to suite everyone's tastes. The only downside of this hotel was the swimming pool it was very small and there were only about 7 sun loungers around the pool. Needless to say this was very disappointing. We therefore used the swimming pool at the neighbouring Hotel the Jervasi. Overall, we would defo stay at this hotel again and it is in a good very location. We could hear some music from the local club but wasnt too much of an issue.

Myself and my partner stayed in this hotel from 01/06/15 the hotel is in a great location and the rooms are large and spacious however that is all that is good with the hotel.

We were booked in All Inclusive for a week and were very disappointed with this side of the stay. There was a very limited selection on the breakfast, lunch and dinner sittings, on all occasions there were only about 3 different main courses to choose from and a limited amount of salad. The first few days when going to get snacks between these times there were 3 very small trays 1 containing a few pieces of cold pizza, 1 with a few cold chips and another with a very small amount of salad. By about the 3rd or 4th day when going to the snacks these were not there and we were just offered ice cream.

In regards to the drinks there was a very small lobby bar with 1 beer pump which did not work properly and a limited selection of drinks, the other bar was slightly larger but with the same issues. When asking for drinks on the All Inclusive we were at 1 point told we could not be given more drinks as they would get in trouble with their manager, we were also made to feel guilty for having what I assume they thought to be too much which was very uncomfortable.

During the week the cleaners came into the room (even when the do not disturb sign was on the door) and we discovered that cigarettes had gone missing from our suitcase, when we reported this to the manger we were told that this was impossible as her staff do not steal. We were basically called liars and she would not ever discuss it.

I would not go back to this hotel, we booked an all inclusive holiday and ended up having to spend our spending money eating and drinking out. I have never been to an all inclusive hotel with such bad facilities.

There are hotel loungers in a concrete area next to the hotel and they are free but the ones actually on the beach are 10 lev a day which worked out just under £5 for me but I chose not to use them out of principle.

Dear Mrs. Anastasia, Thank you for your interest to hotel Viand! Our staff speaks English and Russian. You can come in without reservation, but it is better to have one before your arrival, in order to be sure that we have available rooms. The hotel have rooms with sea view and also with direct sea view. As per your question about the prices for 7 nights, can you please tell us the period of stay? With Kind Regards, Hotel Viand Management team
