Detailed Reviews
Nice clean hotel but NO WiFi at all they say it’s our phone but it’s not!
Bar and restaurant staff are nice but reception staff and manager are not very approachable. Now for the food 🤢 it is very poor we have been to many countries and this is by far the worst. Ice cold vegetables is not acceptable, we ate out a few times.
Also, just be aware if you are checking out at 12pm they will charge you for staying on after this time (even if you have missed first day). Will not be returning ! 😎

First impression was what a lovely hotel, big airy room with plenty of hanging space etc, hotel was spotless , nice pool with plenty of sun loungers. but then went to the restaurant, very little choice and what choice there was was so overcooked and dry, the bread was so dry and stale, and every day/ night was the same. The all inclusive snacks were just whatever hadnt been eaten the meal before. The 2 nights of entertainment advertised was 1 night of Bulgarian dancers in the car park during evening meal . Such a shame as if they had a half decent cook and a little entertainment it would have been a great hotel. 10/10 for the cleaning staff.

This hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful working 15 hr days and doubling up on jobs
This a quite hotel with nothing to do but relax
Unfortunately my stay was dampened by other guests.
Complain for all to hear when it should have been between them and the hotel . And the mis infomation they received with there travel provider.
The food wasn’t its best but my husband and I had no issue. My mother a lady who is unwell and the best of times and may not have opportunities to travel again.
Did not eat much and was frightened by the conversations been had.
I would like to thank the staff at the hotel who took care of us during our stay. Even with the language barrier as many of them spoke very little or no English they always did the best they could.

I hope the management of the hotel read this review. If not they will keep losing customers. On arrival the hotel looked brilliant. At check in we were asked for our hotel voucher which i showed at the time the girl on reception was happy with this and took passports. We were then given room cards. Our friends with us could not get there card to work and were given the actual key for the room as the young boy helping at reception could not get the card to work. Rooms were the best part of the hotel, comfy beds, decent sized Balconies and really good showers. The maids were very good always changing towels and cleaning the room. Also friendly and would say hello.Thats where the good things stopped. We hired a safe at 30 lev for the week (non refundable) We were given a key even although the safe had a electronic keypad!! Could bot get the key to open so had to once again visit reception, the boy at reception came up and after difficulty he managed to open it (hard force needed as the safe was meant to be motorised) The old batteries for the safe were lying in the safe and they had not bothered replacing them!! Poor standards. The following morning we had a letter under our door to attend reception when possible. So down i went to be told by the girl that checked us in that she needed the hotel voucher (already shown on the check in) I questioned this and she said the management wanted a hard copy. I emailed this but to be honest this should be requested at check in not a day later.
Now to the food and hospitality
The food was awful same items for lunch and dinner for the whole 7 days. Cold and tepid. Sweets more or less non existent. Did not help the fact that other nationalities were emptying the trays in one go and then not eating the goods. Coffee Machines were never working always seemed to be out of milk. Never any butter for the bread. And when asking any staff member they just stared at you.
Worst member of staff was the person behind the all inclusive bar a Female by the name of Daniela (picture is below) When approaching the bar she would look you up and down then when ordering she continued to stare. Eventually getting your drink and slamming on bar not even acknowledging that it was there. Absolute shocking service from this staff member.
Overall the hotel for accommodation was spot on but the food and all inclusive bar were shambolic. The hotel will save a fortune on alcohol as long as the horrible bar lady is there.
Location is a wee bit out from Flower Street (4 stops on the bus which costs 2 lev each time it is used so £1) Same distance to old Nessebar which is a beautiful setting.
I would appreciate if the hotel would acknowledge my review. I intend to contact them direct regarding the bar lady.

I would love to give the hotel 0 stars.
We arrived at the hotel and were welcomed by the completely unmotivated receptionists.
Communication was underground.
In the end, the key card was simply handed over without saying a word to the hotel or anything else.
The pool is way too crowded and the loungers are so uncomfortable as you can lie down better on the floor.
The food was felt cold every day and there was far too little for the rush of people.
Neither a drink was brought to the table nor the table cleared.
You had to keep putting the plates away.
The staff was very unfriendly.
Because of the bad food we went to dinner in the city afterwards.
Our room was very clean, however the air conditioning did not work and the TV was the size of a cell phone.
The location was ok but in the evening you always heard the cars very strongly in bed.
It was neither an animation nor any other kind of entertainment in the hotel.
The music played over a small box was repeated after 30 minutes, so you felt like you could almost sing along.

Just got back from 2 weeks here, OMG never again, Hotel was clean and the cleaners were nice and friendly, but now the downsides, food was the same everyday and poorly cooked, I even had a piece of wood inside a sausage and chef didn't seem bothered. Hotel only had 1 bar which was outside so got cold in the evening, miserable woman behind bar that actually put us off going for drinks, and we did get some drinks they were that strong that they became undrinkable. Reception pretty miserable as well, also told us not to use taxis outside it was cheaper for them to ring, not true as they get a kickback from the drivers. Plenty of restaurants around that do great food and drink, but when you're all inclusive it's an extra expense.

Calypso Review
Pro’s:
Two male bar tenders, fantastic with everybody, cannot fault them, one was a manager and the other recently left to go to university.
* Cannot fault the cleanliness of the rooms and reception area etc however, the outside toilet was at times unbearable and was covered in used toilet tissues. There were times I took my daughter to our hotel room instead. One the whole though, the hotel was lovely.
* Nice sized pool with good sun and shade mix.
* Plenty of seats for meal times.
* Ample number of sun loungers
* Gym was open, it was rather small, but enough for what’s required.
* Small park for young children was available and kept in a good condition, this offered a slide, swing and see-saw.
* Waiting staff were very friendly, numerous females were regularly cleaning and putting out food and made good effort with people, especially young children which was positive.
Con’s:
Total lack of entertainment, ‘Kids Club’ had mattresses and TV monitors on the floor and looked like it hadn’t been used in a long time. They said the lack of entertainment and kids club was due to COVID, however, failed to explain why on many websites they advertise these as being open.
The hotel did however offer Bulgarian dancers every Wednesday from approx 2000hrs/2040hrs. This was nice to see.
Lifeguard:
* Sleeping a LOT, many people commented on how his head would drop constantly, if he was awake, would be on his phone mostly.
* He was at times polite to the young children present however, clearly had a short fuse and at one point gave a “first and last warning” due to a young male accidentally hitting him with a small inflatable beach ball.
* Due to there being no entertainment, a male staying at the hotel asked the bar lady if he could connect his phone to the Bluetooth speaker to which she agreed. He then proceeded to play chichi wa and intended to play cha cha slide too but the lifeguard appeared from the back, spoke abruptly in a language j didn’t understand to bar girl then proceeding to turn this off. Approx 30 minutes later, he then proceeded to play numerous songs but suitable for children which included a lot of swearing, some of the songs were Tupac and Eminem which weren’t suitable for young children.
Bar girl:
Lovely initially but after approx 1hr into her shifts would be very abrupt, speak under her breath when speaking to people would slam drinks on the bar, she then walked off shift. She was subsequently fired due to many complaints but really dampened the mood.
The hotel was advertised as having 24hr, these were in reception area however more often than not didn’t work at night and would often have to get drinks from a supermarket next door.
The hotel was advertised as having a jacuzzi, this didn’t work and from seeing reviews, hasn’t for months now.

Worst Hotel i have ever stayed in, Rooms Ok but the Health and Hygiene of the food areas are shocking. Food was extremely Poor, Cold and same menu served all week, Almost looked like what was left the day before was put back out and topped up. One morning arrived for Breakfast to find a complete tray of mouldy bread. Tables were wiped with one cloth without ever being rinsed and all crumbs just pushed to the floor.
Will not reccomend this Hotel to anyone and TUI should be ashamed to offer this Hotel to anyone.

At this hotel at present , the only good thing about it is that it is clean. The food is inedible, cold , raw chicken, snotty fried eggs , food left out for entirety of service time , nowhere near what the core temperature should be . Same food , eg , chicken or pork , soup water , with chicken and veg in. Toaster not working on arrival, 5 days to get a toaster that is an easy fix
Many people were violently sick including my partner, 3 days out of 7, staff rude and miserable. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!

The hotel and facilities were great. What would have been a very good stay was completely ruined by the volume and type of music played. Until very late at night the volume of music was ridiculous, even guests staying at neighbouring hotels were commenting about the volume, spoiling their holiday.

I emailed them 3 weeks in advance for 2 pool view rooms and we got them.
I agree with the other comment. Pool is utter rubbish, nothing to do in the hotel for a 16 year old. The rooms aren't that big either. I wouldn't ever go back to this hotel.
Family room is one double bed and a camp bed near it all in the same room 👍
