The Tia Maria Hotel is situated in the southern part of the Sunny Beach Resort, 250 metres from the beach and a 5-minute walk from the centre. It offers spacious and comfortable rooms at very competitive rates, ideally suited for families with children or young couples. The modern property is within easy reach of both the beach and resort centre. Venture out and have fun at the many discos, bars and pubs in the vicinity. For your convenience, a big supermarket is also nearby. The hotel also houses an a la carte restaurant serving international cuisine. If you do not want to go to the beach one day, the hotel's swimming pool is an inviting place to relax under the warm sun and plunge into the cool water for refreshment. Beach chairs and umbrellas are included in the room price.

Speechless. I have visited 47 countries. I have stayed in various hotels, including the albergues on the Camino de Santiago. I haven't seen anything like that yet. The hotel operates as Tia Maria and sells the so-called apartments under the name Andilana. Andilana are simply two-room apartments at the Tia Maria hotel. Immediately after registration, our booking on booking.com was canceled by the hotel. After asking why the hotel claimed they didn't. This is probably their way of not getting bad reviews on booking.com and that no one will know that Andilana and Tia Maria are the same. The hotel is dirty and very noisy. Behind the wall of our room there was a bathroom in the second room, where the fan was on for half the night. You could hear it at our place. People's voices kept me awake. Room with windows facing the main street. Very loud even at night. Restaurant on level -1 with a very small selection of dishes, coffee from one coffee maker (long queue) in thin plastic cups. Tables dirty, crowded and stewed. I will never come to this hotel again! This is a place that can destroy the positive image of Bulgaria that I acquired while previously in three other hotels. If you want to have a nice stay in Sunny Beach avoid this place!

We checked at late night. At first appearance we were a little apprehensive about the location at night. We got lucky as we were given one of the renovated rooms which we feel was very good. We didn’t come to stay in at the hotel through the day, just sleep. It was clean and tidy so no complaints. We were lucky with view over looking the poop which i small in size. But even at 8am we could have went down and got a lounger. Were 15 meters away from supermarket and other shops all around. We had B&B bands and only tried it once. Restaurant is based in the basement. If was hungy, id manage. It was nothing special but it was full and is more catered for the rest of Europes visitors than us. But saying that there are 100s of places to go for your meals at a rough cost of £4-5 on a full English, around £10-15 for lunch depending on what you want. And for like a mixed grill the size of a bin lid around 50-70 lev depending on restaurant so around £35. Only bad point was hotel bar which was over priced in my opinion. But with supermarket so close its cheap booze wise and food so stock up your rooms fridge. Staff are ok, they work long hours so on a night when or if your rolling in at daft o’clock can be ratty, but never to us. Always nice and happy with ourselves. Location issues resolved in the day to perfect for us. 15 mins straight walk down to flower street, turn right at petrol station before flower street and cut across towards hotel iberostar and you will find yourself at the strip of shops and restaurants. Having stayed at hotel fenix previously, we like that area so we found it to be 10 mins walk from our hotel this time. The beach is less packed and also has a McDonalds 20 meters from the beach. There are free beach spots there to. But if you want a lounger be prepared to pay 10 lev for one and 10 lev for a umbrella. So for couple its like £15 per day. Other spots on beach towards flower street we found to be in a perfect choice of words RAMMED! Not ideal if you have kids as you couldn’t keep an active eye on them.

Nice small pool, quite clean, but with broken ladders. The “not deluxe” part of the building has bigger and nicer rooms so if you can ask for that, I’d recommend. I was in the deluxe part, we had a huge balcony on the top floor which was great and the decor was nice but overall the room was not clean, spiderwebs and mould, no shower curtain (broken rail). Soap dispensers were empty. Beds had a big gap between them. Sheets were not changed for the whole week. I asked once for new towels so they were changed once. Breakfast was not good so we didn’t end up going although we had paid for it. Breakfast is okay if you go at 7:30, later very dirty. No juice or tea.

Arrived for our family holiday (husband and two teenagers). First concern was reviews between site we booked on (Booking.com) differed greatly to trip advisor which stupidly looked at after we booked and paid! Ok we took it on the chin and decided to go with an open mind...it can’t be that bad we hoped! Upon arrival at reception we were ‘greeted’ with a wait over there you can’t check in for 30 mins...ok I’m a big girl but hey a little ‘welcome or hello would be good as a greeting to new arrivals, so we found a seat in the very busy reception area we assumed with other people awaiting check in. The speakers in reception and pool area had music blasting out...great if you have an inkling if a beat but sounded like a poor version of Eurovision song entries! We waited with baited breath at the delights to come...well they didn’t disappoint! We booked and paid for two rooms hmm let’s ignore their booking and put them all together in a family room, same girl who ‘greeted us’ (or not as the case was) showed us the room when we complained. We didn’t relish the thought of sharing with a 15 & 17 year old on different time zones hence booking two separate rooms! We were informed the air conditioner was broken in the 2nd room and to come to reception the following morning..we did and was advised room still not sorted to try later on. We arrived back at reception later that day to be told nope still broken to come back tomorrow! We requested speaking with a manager and after some time another girl appeared who informed us she was reception manager (funny as we asked her earlier and she didn’t say it was her). She informed me our room was one of the ‘larger family rooms and had been refurbished, no way, it was very dated, furniture was in good condition but bathroom was grotty!i said we would take the room without air con... nope can’t have it we were told as hadn’t been cleaned, come back tomorrow! Once again we attended at reception to be told there was a problem with the room! I said I didn’t believe they had ever kept a 2nd room and they admitted they didn’t have another room for us which we booked and paid for! We again asked for the manager and a different person greeted us! They realised they hadn’t got my husband to sign paperwork when we checked in and asked him to sign... er no don’t think so as it says we had two rooms! On a positive note the cleaner for our room was lovely and gave us fresh towels each day and cleaned the room. The rest of the staff were inexperienced and unprofessional. Our breakfast was included but it wasn’t great and very rushed, so we only used it twice. Defiantly would not recommend this hotel, doesn’t take customer service serious, most staff were rude! Does not deserve a three star rating at all, chairs were stained in dining room, view from room was a car park!

Doesn't recommend that hotel at all. The most awful experience. Maddresses were disgustingly filthy, sheets had holes in them, rooms weren't cleaned daily, food and other services didn't qualify even for three stars.

Me and partner stayed here for 10 days. In May/June and we did not have one bad word to say. The food was delicious (it’s not English) it’s Bulgarian and I always went up for more I could not fault the food or the hotel. I read so many bad reviews and I can’t help but think these people are clearly looking 5 star if you want 5 star all inclusive go pay the €1000 lol this hotel was perfect for the price we paid. It’s only short stroll to the main strip and the pool area was always cleaned. Our room was cleaned every day and found the staff quite nice. We would definitely stay again

Omg... I really don't know where to start. It was so bad that we left this hotel after a week but I've booked 2. I'd need 10000000 words to complain about this place but the worst was a broken railing on our 3rf floor balcony, if u leaned against it you'd fall out! No one came to fix it! Food horrendous!!! Poisonous, we spend 2 days vomitting after first breakfast! Room filthy, pool area filthy, staff rude. I really don't know how this place still exist!

We went here in sept 2018 for 1 weeks holiday , when you arrive you think why all the negatives, it looks better than the photos show, check in was easy , told where our room was , that is as good as it got..On entering the room the first thing you notice is all the dust on the furniture, I then started to check everything else, my sheet on my bed had jet black hairs on it and on closer inspection there was hairs on the pillow , I took the sheets of to find that the mattress had urine stains on it , and my wifes sheets had stains on lifting these off, found her mattress just as bad as mine. The cups had not been cleaned out from the last occupants there was tea stained , and in one cup was still hardend coffee, The floors hadn't been swept as there was hairs on it I picked some of these up ,and placed them on the dresser, went to complain and was told nothing they can do cleaner gone home (in broken English) we had to stay the night it was to late to do anything else , but first thing in the morning we went to find another hotel , which we found no problem, went back to collect our cases and to hand the keys in when I said I wished to check out she said (again in broken English ok we already have your money), PLEASE PLEASE trust me when I say you will regret booking this hotel this hotel gives Bulgaria a bad name
