Our flight was delayed, by the time we turned up the night manager who barely looked as if he worked there made us pay for our booking again. The reasonings were very fishy but we were tired so paid, we called our travel operator who informed us they had already paid the hotel. We went back and spoke to this gentleman on reception who really didn’t care and wouldn’t speak to the travel operator. It took until the end of the holiday to get our money back from the hotel in small payments here and there. The hotel is dirty, as an overall I would have brought my marigolds if I had knew. The advert suggests you get a safe in your room which we did not so carried our items around with us all holiday. The “breakfast” well don’t even bother looking. The options are bread (not toast) old pasta (we assume from the previous night) stale looking fruit & that’s about as good as it got. The swimming pools & surround areas are also filthy. The main pool is kept as a bird bath for all the seagulls in Bulgaria. This place is disgusting & I wouldn’t risk my health staying here a minute longer than needed.

We booked our holiday back in May 2022 with plenty of notice of an arrival of September 2022. When we arrived the hotel was shut down and we were not notified!! Absolutely shocking that they had 4 months of having our money and not refunding / notifying us it was closed.
When we finally managed to contact someone they offered us a room in a locked hotel with no water or electricity .. SPEECHLESS. The idea they thought it was ok to keep us locked in a building with no staff, food, water or electricity. Reading the reviews sounds like we had a lucky escape.

When we arrived after a 8 hour drive to be told pay up now as a we have had problems with booking.com customers, we could not find the hotel as the route request on the hotel web site did not function. Room- curtains hanging off,2 channels on the 8 inch screen too fuzzy to see, bar was closed(8.30 pm), no mini bar. Bathroom was open planned, no shower tray, no bath just a shower spray on the wall which covered the whole bathroom floor including the wc and the sink, slippy and dangerous not to mention the mess into the living space, extractor fan did not work Breakfast- hot food was cold, toaster was broken. We had to ask for a change of towels after 5 days and a room clean- it is the first 4 star hotel i had to ask for a toilet roll!!!!
This is not an 4 star hotel this is an Aparthotel-Beware!!

Sunny beach is a wonderful place, the sand and sea are special indeed, but this hotel are not what do you need for a holiday. The rooms are very small, all the amenities are from the comunist era, the hot water missed for a day , breakfast are poor. They have a good staff at the reception, Mrs. Elena, who speaked very well english and was very polite, a nice pools and wonderfull panorama for Cacao beach. In every night was noisy because of the club music from the beach. If you want a beautifull place, go to Sunny beach, but not at Amphibia!

I stayed at Amfibia Beach for 1 week in july. we had a 1 bed apartment, NO air con - Red hot 24--7! room was ok, pretty basic, wet shower room rather dangerous as water leaked down stairs nearly every morning! not ideal with kids (as we did have) All curtains hanging off rail, couldnt shut/open them without them falling down, 1 channel on tv worked all week the others were fuzzy and un watchable! Breakfast was same every day, we went bed & breakfast as food about is cheap but all same evrywhere you go! All the staff were rude, abrupt and unhelpful - right about the reviews read on the english!! it was either yes or no. no help or other answers!we had 2 pay 20 lev for a map of the area as nobody seemed to know what was around the hotel or area!!
Our day of leaving we asked the receptionist if we could leave our cases in room till pick up time for coach got told "yes" when we went to leave they charged us 50 Lev for the room cos we overstayed our visit - although we asked bloke on reception!!
I would say choose another hotel to stay at rather than this!!

Just back from two glorious weeks in sunny Sunny Beach, flying to and from Bourgas. The Amphibia is a big hotel with a fantastic pool area, that never seemed to be busy! No slides but loads of room to play ball games in the water or laze on inflatables (bought cheaply at the little shop next door!). A great pool bar offered a range of drinks and snacks, at 3 levs (about £1.50) for TWO pints we weren't complaining!
Watch out when booking that you have a room with air conditioning, not many of them do, and sleeping in temperatures not lower than 28'c is not comfortable!
The DEFINITE MUST VISIT is THE GRILL BAR in the hotel grounds. Never doubt the warmest welcome from NASKO and crew, the food was the best we ate (and we tried lots of different places). The most we paid for starters, main meal, and drinks for a family of 4 was 70 lev (about £35)! And no-one outside hassling you to come in!
Not so, of MEMORY restaurant, across the road. Food was ok but comes at all different times, and in the wrong order. The staff were great with locals but weren't bothered that I never actually got my main!
Avoid Sunny Beach Centre unless you enjoy very busy streets lined with neon lights, fairground rides, dance music and hasslers.
NESSEBAR is another definite visit. Beautiful old town and fishing port. Great seafood restaurants but a bit more expensive. SOZOPOL is a smaller version, lovely!
Hiring a car is not too badly priced, great for seeing the less busy beaches, OBZOR and BYALA are worth having a day at. The mountain roads from SLIVEN offered amazing scenery and views but be aware of pot-holes, you won't just lose a wheel it'll be the whole car!
Waterparks; Aquapark Nessebar and Action Aquapark Sunny Beach, both had similar slides but the layout and grounds at Nessebar were much nicer. Set in a castle theme with proper stone steps, no metal stairs to stand and queue on. Both offered 20% discount on second visit.
A definite recommendation as a holiday destination. Would like to fly to Sophia next time and do the other side.

We rested for two years in this hotel with children. 4 swimming pools, 2 for children. 90cm and 60cm depth. To the sea you can walk on the wooden bridges for 5 minutes. All rooms have a sea view. Near the hotel there are shops, a cafe, a pharmacy. Near the hotel cafe budget and delicious food. The dining room at the hotel is simple. Breakfast buffet. Dinners are plenty of vegetables. Near Nessebar you can ride a train to walk there (3 BGN adults, 1 BGNchild). By bus it is cheaper (1,3BGN adult, child free)

Minus: poorly cleaned, floor cleaners do not wash thoroughly. A lot of sand after the sea and it's all over the room. Balcony does not sweep at all. And in the corridors on the floor, too, there is dust on the floor, dirt.
The trouble with the plumbing, all the time, something is dripping in the toilet, on the floor we have a big puddle. There are rooms where the toilet has a shower and there is not curtain even. It is better to refuse such numbers right away.
Very loud evening disco on the beach. It starts at 12 and does not fall asleep until 4 o'clock in the morning. Although if you like discos until the morning, you probably will. Disco is not every day.

The hotel does not work all year round. Starts working from June. And so the elevator will break then the plumbing is leaking.
We chose because of the two children's pools and the proximity of the sea well and the price of course. People were few in the past year, in general it seemed that we were alone in the hotel. This year is more. Many children's teams come (for dance competitions, it seems).
On the top floor there is a maisonette room. Double decker. Very steep stairs in it, from the tile. The bathroom in this room is on the second floor. The descent after the bathroom on such stairs is dangerous. you need to be careful.

Our first time in Bulgaria and no one at reception could speak english so asking for help or directions was a no go!
The staff are rude to the manager is horrid!
The food is the mornings are mostly left overs from the night before you find you've got pasta, or veg or potatoes.
Rooms are run down as well. I had a bloody nose one day and got on the bedding well the cleaners didn't put clean bedding on just made the bed with blood on it. The hotel stunk to!
Never ever again!! As everyone that was there agreed they would never come back!
Stay away

First and foremost, if you travel by car, bear in mind that the hotel only has a few parking spaces available in front of the main entrance and if those are occupied you have to park on the public parking. However, the parking isn't free - we had to pay 90 levs (46 euro) for it and I really think that a hotel should provide its guests with free parking. Another thing that you notice at the reception desk is that you can only have free internet access in the lobby, which I think is unacceptable in this era. If you want a whole week access in your room you need to pay 40 levs (21 euro). Instead paying for the wifi, on our first night out, we bought a sim card with 2GB internet for only 15 levs (8 euro) which expires after 10 days. That way, we had internet on the go for a way smaller fee and weren't restricted to the hotel wifi.

Secondly, the room was plainly furnished (which is probably expected of a 3-star hotel) but rather small. The AC unit functioned well. All of the rooms have balconies and a sea view. Housekeeping took out the trash daily and swiped the bathroom floor, but didn't change towels or linens unless requested.

We booked a half-board stay and I must say that the breakfast and dinner buffet were disappointing to say the least. There were few options to choose from and the food wasn't always well prepared. Additionally, food tended to run out very quickly after it was put out and wasn't promptly replaced so people had to wait for a while while the staff sorted everything out. The same goes for forks, knives and glasses and we had to remind the staff that there aren't enough to go around. Also, the dining area wasn't big enough to accommodate all guests which means that people had to group with each other in order to take a seat or had to wait for a table to become available by standing awkwardly in the middle of the room.

The location of the hotel is good if you want to be in an immediate proximity of Cacao and Bedroom Beach, but bear in mind that there is a considerable amount of noise coming from the beach if you're a light sleeper. The hotel is quite far from the centre (approx. 3.2 km). It is a long walk and it's probably best to take the bus there if it's not past 12pm.

All in all, we made the most out of our stay and really liked the nightlife Sunny Beach has to offer, but in the future I'd rather stay at a better hotel preferably in or close to the centre.
