We stayed in Mura for a week at beginning of September, the very last week of nice weather. The personell was great, we had really no problems at any time. The room was OK, my wife and daughter slept on the bed, I slept on the coach, we had really no problem there. We have to say, that the beds and pillows were the best we have ever had in hotels. The room was cleaned each day, we had no problems. The fact is, that the hotel is old and repaired are only the biggest problems. The food was OK. As we do not eat any meat, we have not been part of queues, only for pommes frites. For me as vegan it was more difficult, because there was butter even in rice and potatoes. And no margarine for breakfast. Really a 3 star, not 4 star offer. Water was OK, juice not that much. The best was from their apples, but it was very often empty. We did not take any harder drinks. Coffee from machines - not very tasty. So, food was quite repetitive, but OK. For the times between main meals, wife and daughter enjoyed ice cream, pancakes, it was OK for them, I had no choice, sometimes apples. But we had enough food on main meals, so no problem. There were no spoons, forks, knives for smaller children, that was not very OK for our 3 year old daughter. What is horrible and what made our stay there a torture, is the plastic ocean everywhere. Even in the main restaurant, everywhere plastic, plastic, plastic. Horrible, we had no idea, that nowadays somewhere could be such extreme misuse of plastic. I tried to clean the beach, but it was everywhere. This is the reason I do not recommend the stay here. And they try to present themselves as eco, bio,... And everywhere such plastic mess. As we saw, the problem is by all hotels in the area. The sea is OK, sometimes bigger waves, some days without any movement. We enjoyed the sea very much, even there are algae almost daily and very often jellyfishes. No part of beach is for nonsmokers, that was also very bad. So many smokers between the youngest children :( . The hotel is completely nonsmoking, what is perfect, but everybody smokes just beside the hotel, on the beach,... The child disco by the next hotel Gergana was OK. Wifi did not work very well. We have chosen this hotel as a very cheap holiday offer for our daughter. And that was OK. Many things were OK, some were very badly wrong (grilling of meat next to children playground). The children enjoyed it, us not that much.

This 3* hotel is located in the southern extremity of Albena, right on the beach. While all ads show the hotel from afar/sea, in fact it is an outdated hotel with many signs of wear and tear, closely resembling a communist bloc of flats: - no automatic entrance door; you have to push the door open - a strange, small shop right in the lobby which is not very large to harbor such a shop - rooms are lockable with traditional keys which have attached a piece of metal with the room number; just in case you lose it and someone else finds your key - stray dogs around the hotel and even inside the lobby - the staff behaves at the limit of politeness; worth mentioning the blonde, short-haired lady at the reception. When we arrived, the reception was manned by two ladies who were having a hard time organizing the usual documents from 4 families only; they put us to wait for 30 minutes just to check the status of our rooms although we arrived one hour after the official start of the day - dirty beach; many bad-mannered people who abandon their leftovers in the sand; nobody seems to clean up. The hotel features 2 outdoor pools (pretty small) and one indoor pool; an indoor, not free jacuzzi. The internet is free; it is not provided by the hotel but by the Albena municipality. Signal comes and goes out frequently. Please mind that unlike other hotels, your day starts with the lunch and not with the dinner; obviously, the last day ends with the breakfast. Parking near the hotel is expensive. In 2018 Albena introduced 3 parking area. The most distant one from the hotels is free, the intermediate one is charged at 10 Leva/day and the parking near your hotel is 20 Leva/day! We tried to enjoy our stay and did succed to a certain extent but on the last day we somehow rushed to escape that place.

Please be aware this an update of the review I have left 2 weeks ago - Vasil. As I have left my previous review a bit early in my stay I have to post an update. My daughter, 8 years old, and I have attended few nights of entertainment, which took place on the stage by the swimming pool, the one between Slavuna and Gergana hotels. The performances were great, very professional and both my daughter and I had fun. Be aware these performances were well attended and and you have to be there early in order to get a good viewing spot. Another good point is that people from Mura can use the above mentioned swimming pool, which is much bigger than the one next to Mura. Mura's location is such that it may seem far form Albena centre, but it takes 20-30 min walk, depending on on your pace, to get there. Also there are means of public transport if you can't bother to walk. The beach is massive and clean, however you get up in the morning and have to leave your towels on sunbeds, otherwise you will struggle to find good spots for the day. After 9am only the furthest from the sea rows are available. Sadly the restaurant issue haven't improved. The fact is the place is too small for two big hotels and hundreds of starved guests, most of which are too impatient to wait for their turn at the food. Big queues especially for popular dishes. I haven't changed my opinion - for next year i will check Gergana's prices - 4 stars and Kaliakra Mare (previous name Dobrotiza) - we were there twice before, but also may consider Mura.

Unfortunately I confirm the last review. The receptionists were very polite, but on the whole, it was poor housing. I'm not a very selective person, don't expect luxury, but I had expectations, it turned out the same: no changed linen, no added shampoo, just garbage, despite the fact that room maiden worked hard all day somewhere and was overwhelmed, don’t blame her. We didn’t need a minibar, but it was empty anyway, only rules how to use. The restaurant had big tails, it was difficult to find a place. The food was good, I don’t complain. The beach was super. Albena is a very nice place, I have been there twice. If any, I should have to choose 4-star hotel, just in case. I suggest to improve the quality of your services.
