After great recommendations I decided to book the hotel for holiday with my baby just before COVID 19 pandemic started. After several discussions with the hotel to return back the fee to me, they convinced me that the hotel will be able to host us following all anti-COVID measurements.
Unfortunately that was not the case! In the restaurant the hygiene was not to the desired level. I had to ask every time to get the toddler’s chair in the restaurant. The food was so-so. There were couple of issues that we address to the restaurant manager, but they were not consider.
The room was not cleaned properly. There was sand on the floor from previous guests. The actual cleaning was changing the towels and emptying the bin. Chairs on the balcony were broken. It took 2 days to replace them.
View from the room was amazing! But that was the only positive thing.
Mold in the bathroom!

I will strongly recommend the hotel. The staff was very kind, they organized my birthday and made a big surprise for me. Hotel managers helped us with all requirements and questions - entertaments, touristic places, etc.
Food is gourmet - fresh, tasty and healthy. Apple juice and jam from their own gardens, fresh sea food, fresh fruits and vegetables. Different meals every day!
We had wonderful view from the room and sunrise was my "alarm" every morning.
If you want to feel special, stay in this hotel.

Strong points:
best seafront location in Albena;all the rooms have sea view;beach is beautiful and dedicated exclusively for Laguna Beach;nice outdoor pools for adults and children;good, tasty food and diversified even for the children;an indoor pool with warmish water;the maids are friendly and helpful but the rest of the staff (bartenders and especially the receptionists) are horrible;
Weak points:
Problems with the reservation – I have done a reservation via Booking.com since March, for one week in August. The money was paid entirely in March. When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionists told us that the hotel is exclusively for the French market and our reservation is not for Laguna Beach Hotel but for Gergana, a hotel with a wing destroyed partially by the floods from June. We showed them a lot of documents: invoice with the logo of Laguna Beach, the receipt of the money, the reservation issued by the booking.com, the email correspondence with the online manager of the Albena resort etc. Then they tried to relocate us to other hotels with less facilities. After long time they accepted to validate the reservation but with no excuses for the incident! This treatment was applied to other Romanian tourists, a part of they have accepted to be relocated to other hotels;
The animation team is exclusively for the French tourists; the other tourists are totally ignored, even if you speak or understand the French language(I am a French teacher) - the animators looks the color of your bracelet; Sadly, this treatment is applied also to the children, they are not involved in the daily activities or in the night shows. My little girl tried every night to participate to their games but she has been ignored! The animation team from last year was much more strong and professional than this French team.To avoid this situation is better to go to other sites in the resort with better animation and dancing for all children.
Other lacks:only one TV channel in Romanian language with a very bad transmission; poor snack bar (only pancakes, ice cream and a very bad pizza);the beach sunbed covers are free of charge for the French tourists but charged for the others (the problem is not the price 2 leva but the discriminated treatment – the simplest solution is to be included in the travel package price);

As a conclusion, if they learn to respect all the clients and their reservations, Laguna Beach Hotel is a solution to spend a nice summer holiday in Albena.

When we first arrived they put us in a room where there was a mouldstain from the roof to the floor. The smell made it impossible to be in the room. When I complained they said I could change room the day after. The new room was much better but the smell seemed to be everywhere.
The cleaning was awful, there was a slice of tomato lying under the sofa when we got the room and it was still there when we left! I belive that all they did where changing the towels and made the bed, they didn´t change the beddings once.
Every morning at nine o´clock the cleaner knocked on the door and somtimes woke us up. The noice in the corridor sounded as if it was inside the room, you could here every word spoken.
The poolarea was also dirty, there was sand and cigarettends everywhere and in the pool there where also a lot of sand.
Since the hotel is situated by the Black sea you would expect sunbeds, but the hotel didn´t have anybody.
The restaurang felt over all like junk, the plates wheren´t clean etc.
I would say that the only thing that was good about the hotel was the location, it was great.

Excellent choice: best position: in the center of Albena beach, near a spot for water sports. The hotel rooms have sea view , you can see the sunrise every morning from your bed!
Excellent staff - friendly and smiling and willing to help you every time.
Excellent meal for All inclusive - tasty and plentiful!

As cleanliness - ok, but not very profound. Must insist on this issue (at least clean the sand from the room every day). Being a 4*, at least that they can do, they only pick up garbage every day, but if you ask (using the green card - Make my room) they do your room.

In the end, it is an excellent choice especially for families with children, for best position of the hotel on the beach, for the pool, for the restaurant, for care for families with children-they prepared for us a room with 4 beds-each children having its own bed!
There is an animation team for tourist from France which take care of them, and if you know french you are assimilated!

We have spent in September 2013 a 10 days vacation at this hotel and these were the worst 10 days ever! The kids got a enterovirus in the 3rd day and we ended at the hospital for artificial hydration :( After talking to other couples with kids in the hotel, we found out that ours weren't the only ones affected, and adults were on the list as well. when I asked at the reception what happens with their food, they told me that it isn't the food responsible, because they are being checked every week, it's just a virus that is normal for this period of the year.
Anyway, let's say we were unlucky. but the dislikes are more:
- very bad food. very salty soups (Knorr rules!). barely something changed from one day to the other. very few salads. very bad fish (although we were at the seaside...) Actually it was the worse food I have ever eaten in an all inclusive hotel. even last years' 3* star hotel was far better.
- the water in the swimming pool was very cold. could't get the kids in such a cold water.
- the rooms are very small and very poorly accesoriezed.
- at the snack bar you could only eat fast food (fries, some kind of meat fingers / kebap and pizza)
- the silence hours are not respected. at noon they always clean some rooms on the hallway and the kids can't sleep because of the noise.
- no free wifi
The only good think was the little playgroud and the laying chairs and umbrellas on the beach.
I would rate this hotel as a 2* as it has very many improving points on the list.

We stay in Bulgarian hotels every year and this summer twice in Albena. After reading many bad reviews we decided to take a chance and advantage of the good price.I already had a few bad experiences including a few days of one holiday were I spent 3 days next to the toilet with diarhea.
We checked this hotel during our stay two weeks earlier and found that there are newly renovated rooms on higher levels (rooms from 309 -etc not facing the pools but facing the beach)We spoke to the manager to insure we will recieve a renovated room which she typed into our reservation..
We arrived with our 9 yr old boy by bus from Bucharest earlier than expected at 12 and waited till check-in time.I asked if there is water to drink -the answer was NO...so 1 minuite later I was at the managers office to get access to the bar with a coloured band on my hand bringing drinks and lunch
to my family and to a couple sitting near us.
The hotel is located on the beautiful beach , there are 2 pools for adults and kids, the room was new spacious and cleaned regularly with change of towels linens shampoo and soap. The food to our surpise was very good (it seems they learned something from the bad reviews).BUT -"THE BEST" was the animation team .For the first time in Bulgaria we had great fun - morning till late at night ,games, music shows and dancing both kids and adults. The animation team were especially friendly and loved children -heart warming attention to everyone.
We will certainly be back again next summer .

I visited this hotel on 1 May this year.
The rooms aren't at all 4*, the rooms are really small, and you can't enter 2 people in bathrooms. The hotel is old, from communist times. The walls are slim and you hear the peoples in the other rooms.

The only good thing is that it is on the beach with nice views.
Also the food was good very good quality.

The very bad thing was the room service, they didn't clean the room 3 days. And when tried to clean they entered over us 4 times and made a lot of noise (we were sleeping).

I booked the hotel after I'd reviewed all comments I could find in Internet. Everything seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the reality was completely opposite, but the price. Well, the hotel looks very nice from the pictures, but inside...
The entrance door of the room I was has a wide gap to the floor - one can hear every single word in the corridor, the birds who have a nest just above the neighbor room and during stormy weather you can enjoy a strong whistle with every wind blow.
The bathroom is rusty and smells a lot. It has a window but it does not help. The smell goes to the room with the help of the openings in the bathrooms door. One should pay attention that the water in the hotel is not suitable for drinking. Some of the towels seemed old and had flacks.
When I checked in the room the night lamps were not working - one was missing and the other one was just not working.
The ceiling in the room close to the balcony door is fowling down on the television set. One of the two glass seemed like never washed...
On the balcony something was dropping from the upper floor. After few complaining it was fixed.
During my stay, in the open swimming pool every day there was a nice water gymnastics. The staff could not tell me if I could join, because it has been organized for the Russian group tourists in the hotel, the even did not informed us bout the other facilities in the hotel like closed swimming pool, sauna, yoga in the mornings. There was nothing written in the hotel information either...They could not help me with the stamps for the postcards, neither with the working time of the post office. The parking area around is not under their supervision either. It was good however that we received a parking card and so we could drive in and out from the area without paying every day.
Every day something was happening just between 1400 and 1600. One day a man came to check the best before dates of the drinks in the mini bar. Another day a lady came for cleaning. Other day another one came with questions if somebody has already cleaned the day before. On the next day another day when we put the label Do not disturb on the door, the cleaning staff came again to ask if we wish to be un-disturbed or to be cleaned, because this is what is written just on the opposite side of the label which dropped on the floor in the corridor...It might seem strange that we wanted some quite afternoons, but the hotel is situated just opposite to Hotel Orlov's entertainment area. It had night program between 2100 and 2300 almost every night with mixed quality but high sound level.
However, the breakfast is really rich. The rose garden around the hotel is perfect. The hotel is very nicely situated just next to the beach. The open pool area is very nice. There is a nice table tennis table outside the hotel. The bar serves wonderful cocktails.

Like most hôtels in Bugaria, don't expect quality, calmness, confort. What can I say ? The only good thing was food. Otherwise, I was dreaming to go back home. Could not sleep at night, hotel is extremely noisy, guests are coming back at night, shouting and laughing in the corridors, slamming the doors, during the day the house-keepers are also making enormous noise in the corridors, and the cherry on the cake, we had to suffer a 'beach party' of xxx decibels just in front of our windows at night....

Bonnes vacances
