Detailed Reviews
:-( The room was smaller than average for a 5-star hotel. When we arrived, the mini bar had not been restocked from the previous occupants, there was no phone in the room, no corkscrew for opening the wine in the mini bar, the patio door could not be opened by the room keycard. The coffee and sugar were not replenished until I asked. All these small problems should not occur when you are paying top dollar.
The rule (for all beaches in Albena) to not reserve beach umbrellas was not enforced, the hotel management even admitted that they "tolerated" this selfish behaviour. For example, one morning when I went for walk on the beach, by 9.00am the front 6 rows (60 umbrellas) had towels on them, but only about 6 had anybody there. What is worse, quite a few of the "reserved" umbrellas were not used until late in the afternoon. Later in the week we were told by the two men who looked after the beach, to remove the towels and use the umbrellas. But of course, this created aggravation when the "reservists" arrived to claim their place. The hotel need to impress on all guests that umbrellas are not to be reserved and if they do reserve them, then the towels etc will be removed. It is obvious which are reserved because the loungers were still folded to keep the towel in place and the umbrella was not put up.
We had a room with the shared pool and a good size patio, very nice, until 8.00 pm. The room was about 20 meters from the stage area. At 8.00 the music starts for the children’s dance program, after 30 minutes this finishes and "disco music" is played far too loudly until about 9.00pm when the live music starts. On the first night, the band was excellent, good music at a reasonable level and we could relax on the patio and enjoy it. But the rest of the acts, were not so good and too loud, even when we retreated to the room and closed the door.
:-) Great staff. When I presented the receptionist with a list of problems with the room, he dealt with them all politely and relatively quickly. I found the staff in the restaurant to be very efficient and attentive both at breakfast and also in the evening during the buffet dinner.
I have lived in Bulgaria for 12 years and when we checked out, the receptionist (Mr Georgiev I believe) was again very attentive and asked how we enjoyed our stay. This is the first time in any hotel in Bulgaria I have been asked this!!!! and I have stayed in at least 40 Bulgarian hotels.

We have already spent two summer vacations (2020 and 2021) at this great hotel. We loved the spectacular view from the 8th and 9th floor, the big, spacious and always clean rooms, the atmosphere, then of course the wonderful people (Elena, the manager, who speaks perfect German, her kind colleagues at the reception, Vesselin from the Spa, the restaurant manager, the bellboy, the guy from the bar, all of whom were always very prompt and very friendly to help us with everything we needed or wanted). We loved the food, there was always more than enough of everything and it always fresh; everybody is very friendly and almost every wish is being taken care of (they even cooked some special ratatouille to make my son happy). My son loved to practice his piano skills on the piano near the bar every morning and evening. The pool is great, all the kids love it. The Senses Spa is a wonderful place to enjoy some reflexology massages from Vesselin, lymphatic massages from Elena or simply try the sauna and the indoor pool. It was a dream vacation and we will definitely return.

Great place, hotel situated next to the promenade and beach, so it takes just 2-3 min to get to the beach which is very convenient, especially if you spend holidays with a family and you have tones of swimming toys to carry. Sun-beds are free ( apart from two first rows, which are paid) Hotel is new and well kept, room spacious and clean with daily service. ( we had studio so it was even more spacious with kitchen annex, huge bathroom, separate toilet and balcony joined with terrace. ) Elevators working fine even in high season. If you have studio or room facing the sea, you have the great view of the coast line. Staff is very helpful and polite, it’s so nice to be greeted everyday with a smile:-) There are 2 restaurants, one “ essential”and the second one “a la carte” Food tasty and really very varied, so even fussy eater will find sth worth trying. My kids loved great choice of fruits and sea food. Albena is rather small and quiet place, so those who like crowd and bustling noice of city might get disappointed. Baltata nearness produce abundance of mosquitos, thus evening walks might be annoying, if you do not use repellent. We spent there 10 days and brought with us great memories!

When we first arrived our room was dusty and had 2 flies and a wasp inside that we had to get out ourselves. There was also foreign hair strands in our bed which we hadn’t laid in yet. When we told this to the staff they said they’d send someone to come clean but they never arrived. Our rain shower head was mostly clogged so we had to use the handheld shower. Other than that the room is satisfactory. We got a park view room but there’s not much “park” to look at.
Food at the hotel is only okay. The Restaurant Montgolfier has alright food but it isn’t worth the price you pay, it’s twice as expensive as elsewhere and the food we ordered (pork) was so dry. Breakfast was buffet style which was okay, not great, but with COVID-19 I’m not sure it’s a good idea to have so many people walking around with food left out in the open.
The beach is lovely. The beach chairs and umbrella are guaranteed so we always had a spot (though it can be a bit far from the sea) and the sea was nice and cool. The pools are also nice and there’s a water park for the kids but as we mentioned it’s very difficult to socially distance in a small pool so we avoided it.
Service was good, they were friendly and most were wearing masks correctly. There are also hand sanitisers around for frequent disinfecting.
All in all, it’s a good hotel, but is it worth the price that comes with a five star rating? I’m not sure.

The hotel does not deserve more than 3 stars, the rooms are dirty, the food is extremely bad. potato soup 2 days in a row, an extremely bad chicken soup, salad that is not fresh and sunflower oil, all in a hotel that is supposed to be 5 stars. We and our child actually did not find anything at all to eat. I said maybe I was lucky with the fruit, but the watermelon was warm and past and the ice cream was soft and not individually wrapped. In the restaurant there is a dispenser for water, only that it is hot, and only one for the whole restaurant. The water in the pool is not heated. The beach has umbrellas and sunbed from communism, without matress, not to mention that the first 2 rows are only accessible for a fee. The restaurant a la carte has plastic glasses and the flowers after the meal are at least 1 week old. the beach does not have a toilet, to get to the toilet you have to come to the pool. Taking into account that we paid for a 5-star hotel, we expected it to have the related conditions. I don't know how the stars are received in Bulgaria, but I want to mention that we decided not to come here even is free. In one word i dont recommend the hotel at all!

Response from Paradise Blue Hotel, General Manager at Maritim Hotel Paradise Blue Albena
Responded Aug 6, 2022
Dear Zota, thank you for your comment ! During your stay we have discussed some of the mentioned points and we have tried our best to accommodate your requests. The hotel rooms are clean and cleaned every day. The food is selected to high quality. During the whole season we have welcomed over 30.000 guests and never had a single complaint about the food. It's a summer hotel and the air temperature is over 30 degrees, so the temperature in the pool does not need to be increased artificially. We offer our guests a beach in front of the hotel with provided umbrellas and sunbeds for free with high quality as well not from communism. The pool and the toilets are 1 minute away from the beach. Overall, the hotel is in perfect condition and we provide all the 5 stars amenities to our guests. We hope you will find better hotel for you someday. Wish you best of luck !

This was the second holiday we had at Maritime Paradise Blue. It was even better than last year.
This is the best hotel in Alberta and arguably one of the best at the Bulgarian seaside. Hotel is very convenient and modern. Even the regular rooms are spacious enough to accommodate conveniently a family with two children.
This year we had a half board package, which was the right choice. Dinner at the hotel is excellent. Very delicious food. Variety of meet, cheeses, vegetables and fruits. Fish is prepared every evening in front of the guests. Quality of the food is high.
Special thanks to the hotel manager Elena, who was very helpful with arranging the accommodation.
Highly recommend this hotel for your summer vacation.

Perfect location, great rooms, quality bedding, definitely the best in Albena.
This is the place you want to go if you want to pamper yourself in comfort. There is a large choice of drinks at the bar and the food at the buffet restaurant is just delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The spa is high-end, quality equipment at the gym, plus it comes with a view!
The best asset is the reception staff who really go the extra mile to have you make the best of your stay. The bellboy (whose name I believe is Vasil) also is everywhere: super-efficient, friendly and professional.
We highly recommend this place and will definitely go again.

We stayed 5 nights here in s swim up pool room. Services are of a very high standard, from the bellboy, who explained as everything from the moment we arrived till the general manager of the hotel, who was very kind and helped us with the reservation. Although the hotel was at full occupancy it was not crowded at all, the food was a very good quality, the personnel is very kind and speak several languages. We could access the beach from our pool terrace, the hotel is situated on a large super nice sandy beach. The sea temperature was perfect in August.
But the cherry on the cake was the private swimming pool on the terrace. So nice to just wake up and jump directly in the pool!
The only regret is that we wad to leave the hotel at the end of the holiday.
We will come back for sure.
A big thank you to the personnel of the hotel.

Hello Gabriela. Yes we have a rooms with a bath tube in the bathroom. And for your comfort we have also a TV inside the bath. :)
And, again, you could offer better amenities with this VIP service, e.g.: discounted tickets to the Aqua Park, some things that would include a family with children (not a sauna), buggy/cart rides, etc. -- things that would truly be useful and save money (the rooms are the same, after all).
yes - we have towels for our guests.
Sorry - for late reply.
