Popular mentions
just spent 7 nights in Albena at the Hotel Amelia. Its location is its selling point because you walk out of the hotel and walk through the 5star Paradise Blue which is right next door and you are on the beach.we use this hotel because its the only one that does bed and breakfast which we prefer but sadly i fear thats the end for it. we hear that its going to be totally renovated into a 4 star all inclusive just like the rest.It wanted something doing to it because you would come in after a night out in Albena where you could hear music and laughing from other places into the magnificent foyer and bar of the Amelia and be depressed as the only person there was the receptionist plus an empty bar.I cannot remember in all my visits there seeing someone at the bar having a drink. It is difficult when there is no bar person.Eating out in Albena is a joy and that is one thing that we did enjoy because there are so many its difficult to pick just one bar/restaurant.The one i would like to mention is the POCO LOCO which is app. 100 yards from the Amelia. The food was out of this world and the staff so helpful. The LA BAMBA is also good and that is situated right on the beach. Margo is very helpful. Right on the end of the beach where that boat is two more very good eating out places are situated also on the beach.I am very sad that i wont be going back to Albena because its a wonderful family friendly resort

Great value for money. The rooms were clean and the facilities on point as you would expect. The staff were always ready to help and had a positive can do attitude. Bed was comfy. Overall if you are looking for a nice place for your vacation, you can't go wrong with this hotel.

I grew up in Albena. My parenta are verry first managers of first built Albena’s hotels.I know every place in Albena. How it was in the past and how is now. We payed for 4 stars Amelia superior.Since this hotel was made, the tourists had meal in the Flamingo grand restaurant. From this year Marketing department of Albena made a decision torists from Amelia superior to have meal in Amelia resraurant, which is awful. When I had a meeting with Mrs Todorova, marketing and sales director of Albena, things got better and since then we had our meal in Flamingo restaurant, which is good. The staff in hotel Amelia is rude and unhelpful. There is nobody to help with the luggage after 17:30.The parking is 5 € in blue zone and 10€ in green zone, but if a tourist is in green zone and needs to go to Varna, for example,he/she will pay another 10 €.For every green zone pass,it costs 10 €.This is not explained in none hotel description and is an unpleasant surprise when tourists arrive in Albena.

The hotel is just great. The location is just excellent, you are like 2 minutes away from the beach! Everything was wonderful from the food, the rooms to the staff at the reception. They were always very kind and have helped us with everything we needed. I can only recommend this place.

I stayed at Amelia in Albena from the 20th to the 27th of July this year. There were three of us and we were given 2 rooms on the 7th floor - 703 and 709. My overall impression of the hotel is quite poor, in fact the main advantage (and a pretty weak one at that) is the location. Disadvantages: - The furnishings are hopelessly outdated, the place has obviously not been renovated in a very long time, my guess would be that nothing has been changed in 20-30 years; - Sewer smell came from the bathroom every morning; - The rooms are too small even for two people; - The closets are too small and half of the available space is already occupied by hotel stuff - blankets, pillows and a safe box; - The bathtub only makes the bathroom more inconvenient, especially for people with reduced mobility; - The balconies on the last floor have only a short "roof" above and when it rains, the whole balcony gets flooded; - The music coming from the other hotels is quite loud even on the top floor; - The food at the restaurant is poor quality and not too varied. They only serve instant coffe and this is not OK for everyone. The meat they serve provoked my allergy, but that was also the case last year, when I stayed at Sandy Beach, so I assume the quality is the same everywhere. There is a limited variety of seasonal fruit and what is available is unripe; - the guests smoke on the balconies and in the bathrooms, which is quite annoying to a non-smoker; - bathroom noises are heard quite loudly in the bathroom next door; - the water in the bathroom was often intolerably hot, sometimes too cold and difficult to regulate on the whole. Advantages: - the rooms are cleaned and the towels are changed every day, but this should be normal; - the staff is polite and helpful; - the location is not too bad, but still not near enough to the sea, if this is what you are used to. In other word, the hotel is in desperate need of renovation and the restaurant - in desperate need of a change of concept.
