We traveled to the Devil's Lake Speedway for a night of racing and stayed at the Sunlac Inn. Everyone was very nice, the rooms were clean. and perfect for our stay. The beds were some of the most comfortable I've seen in a hotel in this price range. The property also has a cafe, lounge, and casino attached to it. It's right off the highway, so access with a trailer is easy and convenient. We will stay there again.
The motel looked like it was designed and built in the 80s. Had to have help getting my bike through the double doors of the entrance way. Very narrow hallway. Room decor was a little out dated. Privacy issue in the room. There was a blind system in the window with large vertical slats. Some of the stats were missing so people could look into the room. There was a strange container of water with mold in it on top of the air conditioner. Water might be for humidity. Flat screen tv. Wifi signal was weak. There were three routers but only one pumped out a signal that could be picked up, Didn't take advantage of the restaurant/bar.
Scott the manager was busy serving food and drinks to customers, managing staff and running the hotel. He made sure our stay was perfect over the Thanksgiving holiday when the hotel and restraunt was closed so the staff could be home with their families.
Been here a few times. Both in the cafe and the bar. Food is always hit or miss. It's always edible. But it's very obvious it's the cheap quality food. The bathrooms are not up to code and every once in a while I notice things aren't all that clean in either the restaurant or the bar. The blackjack dealer needs a good old fashioned shower. It's very unpleasant to sit down wind of him. I feel bad for anyone who has to work with him. I would be miserable having to smell that all night long.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The beds were new and nice. The bathroom had a nice granite counter. My room had a large flat screen TV. The rooms seemed newly remodeled. Doors had an old fashioned lock (with an actual key), but I am still going to give this a five star review because the actual room was about the same quality as the other expensive hotels in town.
