The room is small, but okay. The recliner was comfy and there was a fridge and a 700 watt microwave. Plus a counter in lieu of a desk, desk chair was comfy. Bathroom was also tiny, but clean. Can’t comment on breakfast, because we didn’t have it! The bed was extremely comfortable! The air conditioner was soothingly noisy. So that’s the good stuff - oh, plus the bottles of water and crackers in the room. However…why the hotel called several times between 7:30 and 7:45, to see if we were still coming, was both puzzling and annoying. We were in the dark in an h familiar place and had trouble even finding the place! Then the clerk said he had given us a second floor room - no elevator! With luggage and a cooler and a heavy camera bag, we asked for a first floor room. He wasn’t happy and CHARGED US AN EXTRA $10 FOR A FIRST FLOOR ROOM!!! Outrageous for a minimal room. We will definitely not be back!…
Room was clean. Towels were dark green rather than white so hadn’t been bleached. Staff was friendly. Setting was spectacular. Price was reasonable. Dog friendly which is always a plus! I would stay here again.
This hotel has surpassed any and all expectations I ever had for a 2 star hotel. While it started out a little rocky- we were placed in a tiny room (though comfortable) that would’ve been sufficient for a single person to stay in. However, the next day we were moved to a much bigger and more comfortable room. Also, we didn’t mention we had a brand new baby- so this was not their fault. From that point forward everything the staff did was phenomenal. From the owner introducing himself and ensuring we were comfortable, to the house keeper being extremely sweet and friendly. Thank you Hotel Dakota for a rewarding experience. I will only be staying here when I come back!
This is a nice hotel and the check in was also very good. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A good place to stay in this remote area of western North Dakota.
I have stayed all over the US from 4 star to slot less. What makes a great stay, that a place can meet my needs. The rooms are clean and minimal. They add a little extra touches, great breakfast, air conditioner, and tons of plugs to meet your electrical needs. They also offer guest is a way to heat and toast your own meals, with plates, napkins, and plastic ware to use. They also went and got me a blow drier (forgot I needed it in ND). They allowed my bank to confirm my payment after losing my wallet. Brought extra complimentary water and fixed my key card. All of this was done with a smile, warm welcoming conversation. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets were extremely soft. I loved my stay and the treatment.
I recently visited this hotel in Killdeer, ND. The staff mentioned they had reopened the hotel doors earlier in the month and have new management in place. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff went above and beyond and cooked my eggs to my liking. I thought that was a nice touch. The rooms were clean and cozy. It had just what i needed. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. It is nice they have outlets outside that actually work to plug vehicles into when weather is cold. I will stay here again when coming to killdeer.
I don't know how this hotel stays in business!! Their customer service is horrid. They never answer their phone it just rings and rings and rings. When they do, and you ask for who you need you get hung up on!!!!!
We stayed here from Nov 2016 until April of 2017! Awesome monthly rate and included breakfast and dinner 2 times a week. The wifi was better then any other place I have been. They go on and above to make you feel that you belong there. Thank you Barons Lodge!
Not the nicest place to stay in Killdeer but it has what you need, each place in Killdeer had a strong suite, thiers was laundry. 10 bucks they'll wash dry and fold a pretty big bag of laundry, and have it ready for you the next day. The rooms are kinda bare, it reminded me of being in barracks, but again it's got everything you need.
Outside doesn't look like much....but the inside is wonderful! WiFi super fast! Some nites you even get dinner. Breakfast is ok. Superclean, nice people. Would pick this place again. Nice that they have quilts on the bed that look homemade , nice to be in a hotel room with mint green walls and a quilt to match. So refreshing!
