Just a bit prejudice here since I do know the owners, but Joe and Patty have done a great job here with the building and furnishings and making people home while they are here. Great location for family reunions and events like weddings and more somber occasions. The place allows you to take a load off the daily grind and look out over the valley and put things in perspective. I would highly recommend
I stumbled upon this place on the internet a while back, and always wanted to give it a try. A friend and I decided to stop here on a photographic excursion through North Dakota. Even though it was out of the way for us, we were GLAD we came! The views are spectacular, and the whole lodge is rustic yet very comfortable. The hospitality is second to none. Our host(s) made us feel as if we were members of the family. If you're looking for a unique place to get away from it all, this is it! It's about 700 miles from my home, but I look forward to returning someday. Well done, Breker family!
My friends and I have been coming to the CDP Lodge for five years for a weekend getaway. Olivia and the rest of the staff make us feel comfortable and special, almost like it is ours for the weekend. Starting my morning with a wonderful cup of coffee in hand I climb to the "crows nest" to watch the sun rise over a glorious panoramic view. Thank you for sharing your beautiful getaway with us!
Family owned with a wonderful vision for the area, we much enjoyed our stay. The lodge is beautifully constructed and very comfortable. The views of the prairie are long and golden (at least in the fall when we were there). Price is high for the area but well worth it. There is a self service kitchen for use. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Fast wifi if you need to work.
While on a family vacation, my wife found the location on the internet. What we found when we got there was even more amazing. Owner Joe Breker showed us tremendous hospitality, we enjoyed talking with him for hours. Hard to describe 360 degree panoramic views from a top a high point on the prairie, rooms are clean and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen to make breakfast in the morning. Wish we could return for one of the themed dinners that are held periodically. Well worth the effort to get there if you're willing to go off the beaten path!
