I stayed there for a week through a time-share exchange. The castle is nicely renovated and is in the village of Haria, 5 km away from Areopolis. I had an appartment consisting of a small kitchen (with cooking eyes only and a small refriferator) with a small living room, the main bedroom and the bathroom. The double bed was a bit narrow, with excellent linen, pillows and matress. But except the wardrobe, there were no hangers in it to hang anything. Also the safebox was out of order (no batteries in it). The bath was narrow and fat people can not enter in the dusch cabin. In the dusch cabin there was no stand for the soap etc... In the kitchen there were several useful utensils and there was offered in vases greek coffee, filter coffee and sugar, to make your own. There were also tablets and mechanism for the mosquitos. In the summer you surely need the air-conditioning, and this was the first hotel in many years having the filters of it cleaned! We had a small veranda, where is nice to sit seeing other towers next to the castle and enjoying nature. We were next to a fruit garden with lemon trees and other trees. The castle is quiet. Next to it there is a rooster, who begins at 4 o' clock in the morning. You can also listen to other roosters shouting, as the place is very quiet. They serve a buffet breakfast made from local products (lalagia, omelete with herbs, honey, local cheese, galatopita etc) , which is tasty and nice, but it is charged extra 8 Euros for every person. We had cleanliness every day and the complex is very clean. There was free WiFi. Outside the castle there is a small old private church, which you can visit. From there you can tour the whole Mani area. They give you information about the area, where to go etc. You can find super markets and restaurants in Areopolis (5km) and Pyrgos Dirou (2 km). I had a very nice time there. Then why 4 stars instead of 5? Because I find it expensive to have an appartment like the one I had, costing 150 Euros per day, plus 16 Euros for breakfast and having some things missing in the room. But in general the area of Mani is expensive. Notice that you need a car there. The reception and the owner Mrs. Keti are polite and friendly.

We stayed in the Mill which had all of the amenities, extremely clean, comfortable and all the space you would need. The staff were massively accommodating on all requests and we had the best sleeps in a very comfortable bed.... lovely!! Such beautiful and peaceful surroundings with olive groves and fruit trees - they have done an amazing job with renovating the castle.

Upon arrival we were given a bit of information about Arapakis Historic Castle. The owner told us it's a 200 year old castle and has been in the family. We were taken to our tower room. There are stairs, so lugging suitcases could be troublesome. The first floor is a living area, with a twin bed that we used as a couch. There's a tiny bathroom under the staircase. The first set of stairs are steep but doable. The 2nd floor is a queen bed and a ladder style staircase to the third floor. The third floor has two twin beds. There is a ladder up to a roof top deck. The views were worth the interesting climb. There are various peep hole style windows as well as larger windows throughout the floors. Each floor has it's own a/c unit, which kept the entire tower the perfect temperature. Breakfast was delicious. The jams are made from the fruits on the property. A quick walk down the road, through an olive grove, you'll see spectacular views of the bay. You might spot a few horses in the olive groves. The nearby town of Aeropolis is adorable. We ate there a few times. Diros caves, Gerolimenas beach, Limeni, and Kelefa Castle are quick drives.
