Don't be put off by first impressions. This is a little jewel in the middle of nowhere. I live in Cirencester and am fortunate to have many fine restaurants within a short distance of my front door. I also have a background within the catering industry. The chef at this venue knows how to produce fine, good of fashion food.... More

I visit here now & then with friends. the staff are always pleasant. Nice old fashioned dining room. The food is always plentiful and the veg is fresh and tasty. I always pick something around the veg to be honest as it's brill. IE I would be unlikely to have a curry or burger as it wouldn't go so well... More

Was not impressed at the quality of food and service. The food was undercooked and was not to satisfaction also one of the waitresses nearly burnt a child. Shall not be attending again. Do not recommend.

Having lived locally for 2 years we thought we should give it another try. We booked a table and on arrival advised the bar maid of... More

3 real ales. Cosy and popular with the locals. Very welcoming to non-locals. Lots of beams and flagstone floors. Very friendly landlady. Very good value rooms which are described as "nearly en suite". Beer garden and accommodation Some parking and easy access.

When we arrived the landlord was courteous and welcoming, there was nice log fire blazing in the bar after that everything seemed to go downhill. We were seated in the dining room with our drinks and then waited 25 minutes to be given a menu. We had drunk our first drinks by then and when my husband went for refills... More

We have moved from the Midlands to Montgomery just over a year ago and found this pub after recommendations from the locals and it has become our favourite. The new landlord ensures a lovely warm welcome every visit along with all the friendly locals and excellent bar staff and waiters. It has become a home from home throughout the year... More

The Lion Hotel is only two or three... More
