Just returned from a 4 day 3 night stay at the Woodland Resort. Besides catching our limit of Walleye, the entire facility exceeded my expectations. Restaurant, snacks, attentive staff made this visit outstanding. I will be returning in September and October for water fowl. Thanks Kyle for your great guides.

Mid -February went on an ice fishing trip with 4 friends, great trip. Cabin was very nice, try the blackened walleye Ruben sandwich at the restaurant. Tom Shields & his staff could not have worked any harder to get us on , and keep us on fish. Ice shacks were nice & toasty ,perch were jumbos as promised. I live 800 miles away and would go back tomorrow if I could. Thanks again Tom and all the Woodland staff.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to Kyle and Tommy and say "Thank You!" for working so hard to to get us on the ice! Due to the blizzard, the guide we hired (no one affiliated with Woodlands) cancelled and Kyle and Tommy were able to get us into a last minute cancellation fish house and saved our day of fishing. The 1bdrm cabin we rented was great, the ice house accommodations were excellent (both for our unplanned day and our previously booked day), Proz bar/grill was a good time but most of all we enjoyed getting to know the guys a bit. You should be proud of your operation and commitment to customer service !

My wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Woodlands. We rented one of their cabins (very nice) and planned to ice fish 2 days. We had booked a guide (no one affiliated with Woodlands) with a Snobear for Day 1 of our trip. Due to (literal) blizzard conditions forecasted for Saturday, the guide cancelled Friday afternoon. Woodlands rental fish houses were booked solid. I talked to the owner, Kyle, and head of the Ice Crew, Tommy the night before and they were aware that our guide canceled. Saturday was 30-40mph winds and wind chills of -30F... it was brutal. After they got their clients out to their fish houses, they called us at 7:20am that they had a cancellation and could take us out and we caught some nice perch instead of being stuck in a cabin for 1/2 of our planned fishing days. We were comfy and warm in a new 6x10 2 person ice house. Woodlands has first class accommodations and a very obvious focus on customer service. I highly recommend this place and we really enjoyed getting to know Kyle and Tommy over a beverage or two at Proz bar/grill (great pizza). The well stocked sport shop integrated with the lodge check-in added to the convenience factor. Woodlands does ice fishing right.

It was really fun getting to know you two! Really appreciate the review and the business. You guys were troopers under nasty weather and did great. Always fun to host good people and good anglers! Looking forward to seeing you both back in the near future. Thanks again!

My husband and I always eat here on our last night of our ice fishing trip as a treat and fond farewell. The manager remembers us and warmly greets us. Our waitress was prompt but not pushy. We tried the ahi tuna appetizer and it was good. I ordered the 9 oz sirloin steak and it arrived perfectly cooked (medium rare) and juicy. My husband ordered the ribeye and it too was perfectly cooked. His bourbon old fashioned was not up to "Wisconsin" standards but was still good. Beautiful and cozy restaurant and remains a favorite of ours when in Devils Lake.
