This place is actually better than the website and reviews suggest. We were driving from the UK to Italy and it was the perfect stopover for the first night. Very spacious, well equipped room. Very warm welcome the hosts could not be more helpful. Lovely meal on-site in the mini restaurant. Great breakfast.
On our way back from Switzerland we booked this guest house without really knowing what to expect. From the outside pretty plain and a strange check in time (5.30 pm), but once inside this place is like magic. Sabine and Jean Pierre are affering the hospitality you can only dream of. This is like being in a French Eat/Tourist programme like "Les carnets de Julie". Beautiful spacious room with top level bathroom. You can join the table d'hote in the evening, where Jean Pierre and Sabine offer you an excellent meal, wine included for a mere 20 Euros, but what a meal and what wines !! Absolutely unforgettable. Thank you Sabine and Jean Pierre !!
We stayed here for one night on our way to Switzerland. I booked it mainly because there was not much else in the area but we were very pleasantly surprised when we were shown our room. It was vast, very tastefully decorated and had a separate toilet, but the bathroom was fabulous with a double spa bath and large walk in shower of a very good quality. We discovered later that even the bed was adjustable by pressing buttons to make the head or foot raise. Later we dined with Sabine, her husband and two very interesting Belgian couples in the garden. We were all treated to a lovely home cooked meal and as much wine as we wanted. A great stay all round with very hospitable hosts. The only reason I did not give the 5 stars was because sitting in the pretty garden you can hear the motorway traffic and as I have a hearing problem I am rather sensitive to background noise. This said inside you could not hear anything so it did not effect our night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Overall this is certainly somewhere we would go back to if we are travelling that way.…
I found this gem in the last minute, booked it about 15 prior to my arrival. The lady was extremely kind upon arrival, room was spacious and clean, very well equipped with such small things like chocolate next to the bed, a bottle of water, etc. Huge and clean bathroom. In the evening we finally ended up sitting with the family and other guests around the table having dinner together, a truly unique experience! I wanted to skip breakfast as I had to leave early but the landlady insisted that she will serve breakfast at 5:30. Wow... Absolutely recommended if you are travelling on N4 and look for a nice place to stay the night. Merci beaucoup pour votre hospitalité!
We didn't get as far as a stay. In the middle of August we booked a room through Bookings.com for overnight accommodation on September 2nd. Almost immediately we received an email from the hotel informing us that they were closed over that weekend. Nevertheless they debited our credit card for the cost of the room. We rang Bookings.com who, after contacting the hotel, told us that the money would be credited to our account by the end of the month. At the end of October we received a cheque, in Euros, but it did not take into account the exchange rate and was £6.89 short. We were not fully reimbursed until November 15th. Bookings.com gave us £10 compensation for the inconvenience. At no time did we receive an explanation or apology from Le Moulin a Grains.
I've been here with 8 friends during our cycling tour from Netherlands to Mediterranean Sea. Our stay was brilliant! Sabine and her husband completely took care, including washing our cycle clothes. Every room has a different character, spacious and comfortable. We went to their sauna and had an excellent gourmet in the garden house. We will return to this place!
We stayed here for one night en route back from Alsace to the UK. We were greeted by Sabine and Jean-Pierre plus daughter, son-in-law and grandchild, donkey and cat! This is a family-run B&B very close to the motorway and in process of enlargement. The building is very quaint - our bedroom was accessed via a cupboard concealing a flight of stairs, and was spacious and well appointed, with a lovely modern bathroom, separate WC and a collection of teddy bears. We were invited to help ourselves to drinks (beer, tea, coffee) in the games room. With our beers, we chatted to the family and then later joined Sabine and Jean-Pierre for dinner, four courses, home-cooked (and in the case of the venison, hunted by Jean-Pierre himself) and delicious. We practiced our French during the meal too! Afterwards, we slept well in the adjustable bed and then had a tasty breakfast (continental with cheese/meat/yogurt additions). We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our brief stay very much - recommended!…
From the front this property did not look very big. Once the owner has shown you the parking area around the back you enter through the large garden, complete with donkey. The dining area is very old with part of the grinding machinery is still there, FREE drinks are available in the snooker room. The bedrooms are huge and nicely furnished and decorated, our en-suite bathroom was large with all singing dancing shower. We stayed as an overnight stop driving to Austria, an evening meal provided by the hostess an attraction. We were not disappointed, we had a fabulous meal with drinks for 25 euro, sat outside. Breakfast was very good and also eaten outside with the Truffle dogs for company, very friendly. Work is in progress to provide another bedroom and I am sure this will be as lovely. We will definitely stay again when passing. Thank you for your excellent hospitality.…
what a great place to stay the owners made you very welcome the room typical French comfy adjustable bed. the evening meal sat outside with the other guests and the owners round one big table was superb with free wine and lager. breakfast just as good all home baked the only downside is we did not stop longer but on our next trip we will make sure we plan the trip so we can return
