Detailed Reviews
I found Pipestem during a cross country trip during the height of the pandemic and was looking for an isolated, safe place to rest for a few days. Pipestem was exactly what I wanted. Beautiful views of miles and miles of farmland all around. The hosts were as friendly as could be, accomodating and helpful. After a day of rest, I managed to spend a day hiking around the bird sanctuary....delightful! The cabin was not new, but it was extremely clean, ordered and very comfortable. I would welcome another stay here the next time I travel cross country.

Our group stayed 4 nights in Longspur. There are 7 beds which was perfect for our group of waterfowl hunters. We appreciated having a garage to use to store our gear during our stay. The owner and staff are very friendly and available. The gardens are beautiful, there is a nice basketball area, and plenty of grass for yard activities. We enjoyed the bonfire pit and our quiet nights on the North Dakota prairie.

We had a family reunion at Pipestem last week. We had a range of ages from
6 weeks to 96 years young. It worked out great for our family. We were able to do all of the activities we had planned. We had family pictures taken in the beautiful gardens. It made for a wonderful backdrop. Ann and her staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I would highly recommend Pipestem Creek.

What a delightful place! My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights while attending the Potholes and Prairie Birding Festival. Larkspur Cabin had everything we needed, including a washer and dryer. The grounds are spectacular. Everything was in bloom and smelled heavenly. There is also an extensive trail with wonderful birding. I think absolutely the best part was sleeping with the windows open and being awakened each morning by the dawn chorus. I can't wait to return.

It was a pleasure to stay at Pipestem Creek Bed and Birding. Our hostess Ann, was an instant-made friend from the moment we arrived! She is very personable and accommodating. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape and lush flower gardens! We stayed in the Prairie Hideaway Cabin. It is an old wooden grainery. Loved the feeling of a being in a rounded building decorated with antiques from the yesteryear. An added bonus: gazing at the bright stars that were peeking through treetops and gently swaying above me in the breeze....through the skylight above my bed! Breathtaking! If you want a true taste of country serenity, I recommend this place!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and found everything to our liking. Ann and Ernie, our hostess and host, we extremely cordial and helpful in every possible way. The accommodations themselves were extraordinary, as were the spacious and lovely grounds. We recommend Pipestem Creek to anyone who seeks a peaceful respite in well run resort. Our "room" was actually in a furnished house, complete with a kitchen and laundry.

I stayed here for 5 nights with a friend on a spring birding trip, and Pipestem Creek was perfect for our needs. We stayed in Bobolink, the largest "cabin", and had everything we needed for our stay. The houses are nothing fancy, but are comfortable and well-equipped. The grounds are quite nice, even though we were there early in the season before things had started blooming. There are extensive grassy lawns to walk surrounded by many flowers, trees and shrubs. Ann, the owner, was very helpful in pointing us to good birding locations in the area. The wifi is fast and was very reliable. The full kitchen was well equipped, including a coffee maker (with filters!) and fairly new microwave. The bathroom was fully stocked with linens and lots of little shampoo bottles and such in case you forgot yours. There is also a charcoal grill on the deck, with a supply of charcoal and starter fluid. You could pretty much roll into this place with nothing but some food and a change of clothes and be all set!
