If you're looking for a dude ranch that caters to your every whim and urban expectations this ain't it. It's a real working ranch in a starkly beautiful place. It doesn't take much imagination to picture it as it was when Teddy Roosevelt lived near by and, if you enjoy the outdoors, even less to appreciate it as it is... More

Two lodges situated in a scenic and remote location. The 'Rangerosa' is the larger of the two lodges and is in desperate need of some repairs and refurbishment especially to the air-con, bathrooms and ceilings. The owners have gone for quantity over quality with bunk-beds built by a 10 year old increasing capacity in some rooms. Communications were exceptionally poor... More

The Logging Camp Ranch is a working ranch. It has nothing to do with the Victorian drawing room photo that someone posted above. It is remote, secluded, quiet, beautiful, and awe inspiring. If your goal is to get in touch with nature, with an endless view of the black hills, you have found the perfect place to go. The Hanson's... More

My friends and I have been going to Logging Camp Ranch every fall for nearly a decade. We keep going back, not only because of the fantastic hunting, but also because the Hanson's have made every effort to treat us like family. The acres and acres of breath-taking landscape are truly one of North Dakota's treasures, and John Hanson knows... More

The cabin is located in a beautiful spot of North Dakota. In the area, the local ranchers and people were very friendly and we had a great time. But, the cabin we stayed in was not very clean. We are use to roughing it because we rough camp with just the sleeping bags and tent a lot and a little... More

What a find. What an adventure. Not an easy place to locate, not a conventional B & B, but what a great place to stay. We needed a place to stay near Theodore Roosevelt National Park and were having difficulty finding a room. Oil has been discovered in this part of North Dakota and housing is tight. The oil companies... More

I stayed here three nights and just loved it. A real working operation, with beautiful well-stewarded land. Not a dude ranch, so don't expect a touristy restaurant and bar on site, but sensible, tasty, family-style meals at the Hanson house. John and Jennifer were very thoughtful, always making sure I was comfortable, and they were extremely patient with my city... More
