This is a super cool historic hotel in downtown Winston Salem. We had a Queen suite which was unique and very spacious. We only stayed one night. The free breakfast was incredible and had hot eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee, milk, juice & more! The courtyard was gorgeous! The rooms are dated (which you expect with an historic hotel) but clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating! They have milk and cookies at night 8-9pm and wine and cheese between 6-7pm. A great experience for my husband’s birthday
The facility was not only quaint but sparkling clean. The staff was attentive and most helpful. We were traveling from out of state to a wedding in Winston Salem. I was intrigued having read about the inn while researching the area and elected to spend one night before continuing on. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Highly recommend, whether for a stay or for hosting an event! This is the second stay for us, and the first for hosting our book signing event (Romance in the Carolinas). The staff are amazing and the rooms incredible! We look forward to more stays in the future as well as hosting our next event!
This is a return visit to the Brookstown Inn. Our room was very nice, located in H wing. The front desk was very cordial and helpful they get a 5). The hot breakfast included eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Any many other cold selections. The evening wine and cheese lacked variety that was served pre-pandemic; hosts were great. The grounds could use some cleaning and reported our ac vent clearly needed cleaning. The desk host followed up with us the next day; unfortunately it was not attended to by maintenance during our 2 day stay. Hopefully, it was cleaned before the next guests. We will return, it is still a lovely place to stay with good amenities and unique buildings. The staff made the stay most enjoyable.
Extremely clean venue with an incredibly helpful and polite staff and charming atmosphere with so much to look at. There was lots of space in the room with comfy beds and chairs. Wonderful hot breakfast. Loved the wine and cheese in the evening. We stayed one night here on two separate occasions in two different rooms and we loved it.
This was my first stay and was very impressed. Converted from an old cotton mill, Brookstown Inn does not disappoint. From the kind greeting, early check-in, wine & cheese, and milk & cookies Brookstown Inn was exceptional. The buffet style breakfast will rival any restaurant. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance and is less than a mile from downtown and the Winston Salem Bash minor league baseball stadium.
I had the pleasure of staying here for four days during my conference downtown. The staff was super helpful and polite. The hotel itself is one of the coolest places I've stayed if you are into history and folklore. Breakfast in the morning, wine in evening, milk and cookies before bed and possibly and visit from a wondering ghost. Who could go wrong. Thank you and I hope to stay there again on future visits to Winston-Salem.
Who needs cookie cutter hotels when you can have a unique stay in a repurposed building? Includes creaking floors and a hotel cat for no charge! This was my second stay at Brookstown Inn and really enjoy the atmosphere of this hotel. Inviting lobby areas, wine and cheese and cookies in the evenings, hot breakfast in the mornings, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Bed and pillows were awesome. The only downside to the rooms so big, is that the TV is so far away from the beds that you wish for a big screen TV! Be prepared for an enjoyable stay at the Brookstown Inn!
Nice hotel. Would recommend others to stay if in Winston Salem. Only disappointing thing was I had reserved a room with mobility aids specifically for my wife as we were in town to have brain surgery the next day. Unfortunately, the room was "under renovation" and unavailable. It made for a much less enjoyable stay
This Inn is exquisite! What a wonderful visit. We had a King Suite and it was beyond anything I expected. Plenty of room…loft bedroom! It’s like home away from home…but not! Will make this a nice getaway again soon Staff was more than amazing….Sally (hotel greeter) was pretty amazing as well.
