We stayed in the Mule Room Suite for our 29th wedding anniversary. Chloe made the anniversary special by adding small bottles of champagne and of sparkling cider. It was a very comfortable suite. There is plenty of storage with a walk-in closet. There are also plenty of outlets for your electronics and I had no problem streaming Netflix. The bath towels are the thickest and softest towels I have ever seen in a B&B or in a luxury hotel. Breakfast was special. We watched a beautiful sunrise from our dining table by the water (see attached photo). The homemade continental breakfast brought to your room the night before was easy to set up and very filling. We had a delicious creamy quiche, as well as homemade breads, jams, granola and fruit. I was still full from the breakfast when we ate late afternoon! What a relaxing leisurely way to have breakfast. There is also a very nice restaurant with excellent food, Georgia Deans, about 2-3 miles away. Very convenient. Chloe is warm and personable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: The Mule Room Suite is a small cozy suite. The Packhouse Suite is large and spacious.

When I booked this B&B I was expecting it to be an unusual one. It certainly was! It was unusually large, unusually comfortable, and unusually delicious. The suite had a large living dining kitchen combination, a large bedroom with a walk in closet, and a large bathroom. Chloe is unusual as well in a very accomplished way. What a great cook and decorator as well as a very caring hostess. Our suite was in an artistically renovated barn that you have to see to believe. We’ve been to many b&b’s but this one had the most comfortable bed of any! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

"Simple life and peaceful mind are very close friends." My husband and I experienced a peaceful minded simple life at Big Mill B&B the first weekend in August celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. What an unforgettable weekend! It was what we were longing for and so much more. We stayed in the very clean, quaint, charming, well stocked, comfortable and very relaxing Packhouse Suite. Chloe Tuttle, the innkeeper is incredible! We enjoyed walking down memory lane with Chloe as she gave us some history about the farm and showed us some pictures of some of the renovations that had taken place at the farm to make it what it is today. As I walked around the well maintain grounds, I couldn't stop smiling because of the peace and joy I felt in my heart. This place is amazing! It was great getting breakfast in the evening to eat in the morning or whenever we wanted too. The breakfast would include items that was home grown and homemade from quiches to breads, jams (Chloe grew the berries) granola with gluten free ingredients and orange juice and milk. There was so many special things that was well thought of by Chloe that made us feel like we were the only guest at The Big Mill B&B. For example, Chloe had fresh flowers on the table and she gave me a sweet smelling moon flower that only opens in the evening. How special is that... We can't wait to get back! Thanks Chloe for making us feel so welcomed in your own special language. Hope to see you soon...Charlie and Labrina

This is a B and B. We stayed here overnight on our way to Williamsburg, VA to celebrate our anniversary. Let me talk about the first "B" of bed and breakfast - the bed. It is luxurious! The sheets are fine quality cotton and very soft. The mattress is one that you melt into. It is the kind of bed you do not want to leave! The next "B" is breakfast. Homemade granola, quiche, fresh fruit. All great. The room (we stayed in the Corn Crib) is very comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for an overnight or extended stay. The property offers extensive exploration opportunity with a large pond (you may use their jon boat if you sign a waiver) a shaded grape vine enshrouded area to relax in, several historic buildings and more. Chloe is the manager/proprietor/chef/ etc. She was born here in the main house and loves this property. It shows. She is very accommodating and helpful as well as a font of knowledge about the property and this area.

Big Mill has something for everyone looking for a brief escape to enjoy peacefulness and privacy in a beautiful and charming location. Chloe is a master of creating southern hospitality and her breakfasts are from local and homemade ingredients, and are incredibly delicious. Enjoy the lighted grape arbor and night time sky as you sit outside. Then enjoy the fireplace in the middle of the barn if you want a different kind of ambiance. Big Mill is our new favorite close to home get-a-way spot!

We have stayed at Big Mill several times, and even were married here under the grape vine. Chloe has built a little paradise in the heart of Eastern NC. We have stayed in all of the rooms, all of which are very comfortable and clean every single time. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with hammocks, birds and flowers galore. There is also a pond on the property that my husband and I have caught several bass in ;). In the barn breezeway is an outdoor fireplace stocked with wood and everything you need to build a fire in the fall, winter or early spring. Chloe is a phenomenal hostess and so accommodating in every way - and of course an amazing cook! The breakfasts are delivered to your room each night so you may eat in the morning whenever you please. This is truly a quiet, hidden gem and if you are looking for a peaceful break from reality and a “home away from home” this is it.

This ranks as a favorite B&B stay for me. We stayed in the corn crib - terrifically laid out bedroom, kitchen and sitting space in a renewed barn originally built in the 1920s by Chloe’s father and uncle. Charming, cozy, comfortable. Many birds around the pond. Lovely walks. Delicious breakfast. Wonderfully hospitable host. Wish I were there now!

This is the prettiest, best appointed B&B I've ever stayed at. With impecable taste, the owner has turned 100-year-old farm buildings into unique, cozy and comfortable guest houses. We stayed in the Pack House Suite. It's in a building that is clearly an old pack house. It has a wonderful historic and rural charm. Yet at the same time, the renovations, furnishings, bathroom, and full kitchen are top grade and luxurious. The breakfast was delicious and the grounds gorgeous. The owner, Chloe, is friendly and extremely capable. Every detail was perfect. I can't say enough good about this place!
