Meadowsweet is an 1895 farmhouse that has been lovingly restored and updated. The grounds include multiple gardens, many places to sit and meditate, a mountain stream and pond. We are in process of building a walking trail on the property across the road.Garden room has a double bed, sitting, books to peruse and TV to view dud's. The pioneer room is a mini-suite with queen bed.Cable or DVD is available. Rose Room has queen bed and cable TV. All of the house is available for guests to use. There are two front porches and a gazebo as well to use as weather permits. We are 1/4 mile from a lovely golf course and 3 miles from the quaint town of West Jefferson. Coffee, tea or chocolate and biscotti is available early. Chocolate and aperitif is available in all rooms.

Hosts Debra and Ken accommodated a 42-person family reunion with grace and charm. Food and accommodations are excellent. Charm abounds, both indoors and outdoors. Watch the fish jump in the pond. Relax by the stream. Walk the flower and vegetable gardens. Everywhere you look, you see something beautiful. If if could move in, I would. While this is an honest review, for full disclosure, please know I am related to Debra and Ken. Kathy Coley

Great location, beautiful home, hospitable owners, great breakfast, comfy room, beautiful scenery... Thank you to Debra and Ken for a wonderful visit! Inn is located just out of town so you can enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains, Christmas tree farms, and nature without being too far from other attractions. Inn is filled with family antiques and memorabilia...great for history nerds like me! Breakfasts are included and delicious. We hiked Mt Jefferson and visited other trails along the parkway for a nice midweek escape!

This is a beautiful B&B with interesting rooms and lovely common areas and grounds. There is a garden, orchard, numerous places to congregate outside and beautiful views everywhere. The hostess, Debra is very accommodating and made the experience even more fun. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting the area.

We rate this a 5 star Inn. Very friendly hosts. Very quaint home decor. Very country environment. Quiet and beautful grounds with flowers and plants everywhere inside and out. Breakfast included. One bedroom available on ground floor and 2 on second floor. If you are allergic to 3 cats, this is not the place to book. No air conditioning available. Has tv and fans in every room. Convenient to Main Street in West Jefferson and shopping with many stores and a Cheese factory and store. Can view the making of cheese at factory. Many restaurants not open on Monday and Tuesdays. Farmers market only open on Saturdays.

Having stayed in many B&Bs across the country and in Europe, we have lots of context to compare. Meadowsweet Gardens Inn certainly deserves to rate among the best! The rooms are comfortable. The host, Ken, was friendly and very interesting (Deb was out of town) and prepared an excellent breakfast each morning of our stay. The house itself is fun to explore and fully available to the guests. But the best thing about this lovely Inn is outside. The place is literally surrounded by gorgeous gardens, inviting sitting areas, and great views. We already look forward to a return visit.

We booked a weekend trip in February. The room was cozy, quiet and very welcoming. The food was fabulous, a mix of bread, meat and dairy. Host was welcoming. Coffee KEURIG available 24/7. Conveniently located to West Jefferson downtown area. The only real negative I see is the parking area could be widened, or more area across the street at the Glamping area. It was a rainy day and the parking gravel area was full and we had to ride through the muddy grass to get out of the parking lot. The gravel parking area needs to be extended to allow for more parking area.

My husband and I; went up here to see the leaves change, but while we were up there, there was none to be seen. Overall it was a very nice place. Deb allowed us to taste a small amount of sherry in the evening before retiring. I did not know that the house was built before my time, 1800's and had a lot of history to this place. If you go, go in the summer when its warm. We nearly froze our panties off we did not realize that there was a heater in the room, but it was very nice. Deb showed us the living room which was I guess not opened to guests. It was quaint place a bit rustic as she said the entire house does not have heat or air conditioner in it, as the place was quite old. I feel that this was a nice stay, our room was a bit cold as the window in the bathroom does not close and it kept me coming from the shower a bit cold. The place has character and it needs alittle more upkeep on the ripped wallpaper in our room. A bit too much chachakas like my folks would say too much stuff laying around. Overall it was still nice place to stay. I have Nothing bad about this place. I did however forget my feather pillow, with a check sending to Deb, she sent it back to me, I was thankful for that. They have these two puddy cats, one is a grey boy he was a beautiful cat who loves to be pet and the sweet black tuxedo cat who loves to be cuddled. I really enjoyed this place. We left a day earlier than anticipated but not from them the weather was getting cold and raining and we wanted to visit my friend another day earlier in Tennessee. Overall I can tell you this is a nice place a bit quirky but as nice as it can be. Across from this place is three little rental of cottages we were told, they have outdoor showers No heat and an outhouse a Porto Pottie. Personally I feel this makes your place look a bad dull and kind of not so nice. I would suggest that you put the porto pottie on the side of the cabins and place them away from the public eye for your place, It looks too tacky. We traveled to many b and b but this one tops the cake on quirkiness. Stay here tell me about it after you do. By the way No children allowed they will be bored and there is nothing for kids to do here. The room we had was on the first floor as I have trouble walking up stairs, it was a bit noisy after 6 am with cars passing late on that road up the hill. By the way, Deb just wanted to tell you. When I booked this you told me that you would have hot tea, coffee and pies after dinner in the evening, Why did you not have this?. That is the reason we selected your place, but the two nights we stayed here for some reason you did not provide this for us, why was that? I felt like we were a burden to you, I hope now you are feeling much better from your cold.

Coffee, hot tea is available in the am and pm if wanted as we have a keurig for guests. We do not have pie. We do sometimes offer a glass of wine. We conversed at our bar over drinks. All rooms have individual heat if needed. All rooms are clean and have all amenities including brandy and chocolate at the bedside. We enjoyed meeting you and your husband.

We stayed here in July and found it be be a very pleasant experience. Breakfast was good, but we had to ask for juice??? what's with that. Also, if you have a busy day planned, then stay in a hotel as breakfast isn't served until 9am. If you want to relax in a beautiful setting, this is the place for you
