This is the coolest place to stay. We are from Charleston S.C. We had booked a hotel in Asheville, & they were seriously jacking up the price. These hotel's were taking advantage of people's misfortune. I was so lucky to find this retro gem. The prices were less than half of what the others were charging! It is close to... More

This is an old, tired motel. The lady on the desk was elderly and not very mobile and, although we were prepaid she could only find one receipt for our two rooms. However she checked us in. Our room was old fashioned with a musty smell but seemed clean. The bedcovers were modern and our beds comfortable but that was... More

This hotel is very plain and harkens back to the 1950's. Reminded me of my Grandmother's home when I was a child. That said, the place is acceptable and the price is certainly reasonable. Not a bad choice.

The Parkway Inn has basic rooms with basic amenities. When it's hot and humid as it was during our stay, they can seem damp, but the cleaning ladies did a great job tending to things every day. The design is old school, and the rooms have few (and sometimes inconveniently placed) outlets. The beds are more normal "home-style" beds than... More

I had traveled down to NC this past weekend, on Friday night I stayed in Franklin, but on Saturday there was no availability in Franklin, so I figured I'd stay one more night locally before heading back to Jersey (about a 12 hour drive). I arrived at the hotel and my initial game plan was to get a bit of... More

This room is pretty awesome considering it was so cheap. It's plain but perfect for what we need (a place to rest and take a break from the road). I think it's pretty charming really, old but clean. Fridge, nice bed/pillows, cable and privacy. I would definitely stay here again.

The room I got, despite the other reviews, was actually pretty cool. I didnt have any complaints, other than the internet was poor. The room had a very dated look, but the furniture was hardwood, and had glass tops. Pretty sweet if I do say so myself. I am a contractor looking for cheaper hotels, and this one was within... More

Don't waste your time or money! This place reeks of mildew. The carpet was tacky and musty. I couldn't stand to stay here because of the smell in the room. We were out by 6 in the morning because I couldn't stand another minute in the room. Seriously outdated. The woman who checked us in was very UNFRIENDLY. I won't... More

Lovely owner Dorothea, and the housekeeper Kathy has been there for 27 years and knows every nook and cranny. The motel is OLD. They cannot make the rooms bigger for you. If you want resort conditions, then go away and stay in a $250 a night resort. I loved talking to the owners, I did not mind the tiny room.... More

This is an example of a Smokey Mountain quirky and kitchy hotel. Tucked away between Waynesville and Maggie Valley - this hotel has a unique texture of the surrounding hills. The owners were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Good value, convenient and near beautiful areas to explore.
