This is a cozy, rustic, and outstanding B&B. My husband and I stayed in the Aunt Doris room. This room was perfect for a restful weekend, including a super comfortable, large King size bed, mini refrigerator, and a deep, elegant claw foot bathtub. The owners also placed complimentary snacks and waters in our room upon arrival which was appreciated. There were a variety of pillows including large and smaller ones with a soft comforter. There was also air conditioning and the WiFi worked well. The B&B is quiet & an ideal location for those wanting relaxation. We did not hear any noise at all during our stay. There are cute shops, restaurants, and vineyards all nearby this location. Tessa’s breakfasts are so delicious and rather generous compared to what other establishments offer these days. Coffee is available in the morning and a variety of teas are offered to guests at any time. Tessa also put out delicious homemade cakes in the afternoon which are a nice treat. The owner, Bernardo was also so welcoming and friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful two night stay in this historic home in Valle Crucis. The house is large and run by a delightful couple who do everything to make their guests comfortable. The room was large as was the attached bath. The dining room was elegant and the breakfast superb. I am allergic to gluten and my breakfast was made especially for me and was present in a beautiful manner. We went to dinner the first night with another couple staying at the Taylor House which was entertaining. Our first breakfast was at the overflow table with a couple from New South Wales. We will go back again.

We enjoyed the unique setting of the Taylor House Inn. Nestled at the base of a mountain with a babbling stream across the road with a pasture of cows grazing, it was peaceful and beautiful. The home is warm and welcoming as well as the hosts. We stayed in Uncle GIlbert's room and the king sized bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast that was served in the dining room in a lovely presentation and the coffee was they way I enjoy it...Italian Roast with robust flavor! I highly recommend Taylor House Inn!

Sadly whether due to Covid or age, this property was not what we expected from all of the awards listed and positive reviews We stayed there two weeks ago and found the property somewhat run down, needing paint, decor upgrade and repairs to various things. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment as we had read and heard that they provided a gourmet breakfast. But we only got instant coffee at the coffee bar (real coffee at breakfast only), canned peaches, canned biscuits and Saturday's egg dish did not taste homemade. To their credit the Sunday breakfast egg dish was very good and the table setting was lovely. Additionally, our friends complained about their mattress and our room touted a bathtub that we couldn't access as the shower button was stuck on shower. I hate writing a bad review, but don't want unsuspecting renters to be fooled like we were.

The drive up to this older home was very nice. We ended up staying in their suite unit since all other rooms were booked. The furniture in the sitting room wasn't very comfortable. The bedroom was nice but was the only room with air conditioning, which may not be required most of the year. The included breakfast was sub-par and there were no options. The first morning an egg casserole was served which had more potatoes than egg it seemed. Very heavy! The next morning only waffles were offered.

This is our second visit to The Historic Taylor House and I must complement the host for their helpfulness and making our stay enjoyable! It is located in a beautiful mountainous region of North Carolina. The Inn itself is very nice and comfortable for a special occasion and quiet getaway. The overall condition is average for a B&B in the price range that we paid.I has the look. of the period in which it was built. 1911 and decorated in the period.. There is somewhat of a more modern period in upstairs hallways, with modern art displayed. There is no cell service at the Inn, however free continual USA call from the room are provided. Internet was fast enough for my to stream a football game. Breakfast was good and was the same for all, however alternate food was available if you asked ahead of time. Coffee was strong and bold the way I like my coffee. We had room #4 with it's own modern bath down the hall, I think all other rooms are ensuite.

We would recommend The Historic Taylor House for a nice quiet visit to Valle Crucis, NC

This place lives up to the term 'bed & breakfast'. So many b&bs these days give you a stale muffin and grocery store coffee. Tessa prepares a great gourmet breakfast (not huge) that is different each day. And great full-flavored brewed coffee as much as you want in the morning sitting on the porch and with breakfast. Special dietary needs are accommodated at request when you check-in. Our room (Aunt Nancy room) was comfortable and charming. This was out 1st visit, but will not be the last.

Taylor House Inn is a beautiful historic property nestled into the valley close to nearby ski areas. I really appreciated the cozy Flower Cabin in which I stayed after skiing. The hosts provided lovely amenities and special touches to make the stay very nice. The most spectacular part of the visit for me was the daily breakfast. Although it would have been lovely to eat in the beautiful house, due to COVID19 precautions, the hosts delivered breakfast on trays. The meals were absolutely delicious! The Inn is conveniently located near Boone, Banner Elk and Mast General Store. The hosts are very sweet people and I am looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend.

This is one of those places you walk into & you feel immediately comfortable. This isn't a stuffy B & B, owners are very friendly. We had a nice, light fresh breakfast to start our day. Our room was cozy (one with 2 kings). The bath was across the hall (private to us) but wasn't a problem for us. We'd definitely stay again.

This place also has private cabins on property & owners reside next door.

My wife and I stayed at the inn during a brief visit to the NC mountains. Bernard, our host, was most agreeable and helpful. Our room was delightful. It even included some wine for us to enjoy during our brief stay. In the morning, Bernard brought our breakfast (delicious pancakes!) to our room and knocked on the door to let us know that they had arrived. This allowed us to enjoy them on the porch or in our room and stay safe. The inn is located in Valle Crucis and within easy driving distance to Boone or Blowing Rock. We ate dinner in Blowing Rock and it was a pleasant 20 minute drive to the restaurant. I would highly recommend this inn if you heading into the area!
