Take in the gorgeous scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains with an outdoor vacation at Sun Retreats Nantahala, formerly Fort Tatham RV Resort & Campground. We are your ideal base camp for exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore House, Great Smoky Mountain Train Adventures, Dollywood, and many attractions and festivals. Our resort has two streams and a stocked pond that perfect for some fishing. And everyone will love our potlucks, cookouts, ice cream socials, and recreational activities. We hope to see you soon!
Our two bedroom cottages have beautiful wood paneling and flooring to give you a rustic feel with all the modern conveniences of home. They come fully furnished with a queen bed, a twin-over-full bunk bed and sleeper sofa to accommodate up to 7 guests. The kitchen is nicely equipped with a refrigerator, two-burner stove top, microwave, coffee maker, cookware, dinnerware and utensils. Other features include a private bathroom, flat screen TV’s with satellite, air conditioning and a screened-in porch. All linens are included. Each rental includes a picnic table for your outdoor enjoyment, and fire pits with grill tops are available. No Pets.

Stayed there a month from July 12, 2022 until August 12, 2022. Boyd the park manager was great to deal with. So was PJ in the office. Maintenance and Housekeeping did an excellent job. Wi-Fi was excellent. All utilities worked great. I would give it 5 stars except for the highway noise. Park has no control over that. Would stay there again and probably will.

Just off of a major highway, so it's noisy. Roads and sites narrow. Not big rig friendly. No fire rings or pool as advertised. Uncaring Management. No cable. WiFi is basic. For a Sun RV Resort, this is far below expectations. Will never go here again.

We stayed there, it's clean and neat. Full hook up except for cable. They sites are tight.We had a site on the creek and across from the pond. The staff appeared to be young but knowledgeable. We'll go back.

I really enjoyed staying at Fort Tatham! It was close to Sylva, close to Franklin and so many other fun places. The bathrooms were decent, but staying by the creek was the best. It was close to the highway, which was a little noisy, but not bad!

My Partner and I always make it a point to make it to Fort Tatham from the NC coast each year. The staff is always so polite and we love staying in an RV they have onsite and hooked up. Cant beat it for the price and is in close driving proximity to many attractions

Listed on AllStays as having a dump station, but according to telephone staff they have NONE. Really? Uh, there is a 200 character minimum on this review so what else can I say? What RV Park doesn’t have a dump station????

We stopped for 2 nights while in the area on business. Place is clean, staff is friendly. Wifi worked well. Too close to the highway for us, and constantly hear semi engine brakes. No fire rings at site. Overall it was ok, but not worth the price. The noise was a huge factor for the rating.

Well maintained campground with friendly host. Close to Sylva and other attractions. There is considerable road noise from big trucks using their motor brake coming down the hill of the nearby highway. The campsites are very narrow and the wifi is cumbersome and slow.

Very clean and well maintained park. Close to Downtown Sylva, Dillsboro and Franklin. There is some road noise but once it quiets down at night we enjoyed listening to the creek behind us. The owner Bill couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. Free WiFi included with your stay. Passport accepted.

Enjoyed the proximity to places we were visiting in the area but not exactly a camp ground for hanging out and relaxing. The onsite staff were very nice and helpful but the space we stayed was very tight and while there was a nice creek behind us, it did not mask the noise of the busy highway. The RV park was clean and everyone was friendly but as noted we were very close to others parked on each side of us. In fact I was concerned that we would not be able to extend our awning without hitting the rig on the awning side. Also there was not a grill at our site so glad we brought our own.
