Cool, Quiet, Secluded Back To Nature Camping with Rushing Stream and Trout Fishing. Beautiful setting just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Great Smoky Mountains. FHU RV sites, Tent sites and Cabins. Camp Store, Heated Bathhouse, Fire Rings, Cable TV, and WiFi.
I stumbled upon this campground on Google looking for an inexpensive weekend getaway destination. The pictures alone captivated me and then the prices sealed the deal. When we got there, it was just as beautiful as the pics and MORE. You can't put the sound of a mountain creek into a photo! We stayed in the Sanctuary cabin and slept with the windows open listening to only the creek at night and the songbirds in the morning. Facilities are immaculate. Owners are so helpful and take such pride in making their campground perfect. Prices are so reasonable for how nice it is. Thank you so much, Jim and Dana, for your efforts! It was much appreciated!!!!!

The campground is great! There is a very clean bath house with showers, toilets, washing machines, and dryers. All the sites are absolutely amazing. There is a spot where you can get in the creek and take pictures, a pond, and a beautiful trail leading to a bridge over the creek. You can also take a walk to the park where there are a few swings, benches, and a fire pit. If you walk a little further past the park, you will find the waterfall site where you can take beautiful pictures. In the office kids can get free loli pops or mints, and the people there are really nice.

Thank you for your kind review of Moonshine Creek Campground. Jim has made lots of places to enjoy the creek at the campground not just at your site. It's also great for taking a walk in the woods. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us and yes the kids do get lollipops in the office!

Beautiful well kept campground. There are no bad sites. We had an RV site that backed up to a creek. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot. Everyone was super helpful and we are planning a trip back with friends.

Our fourth trip to Moonshine Creek campground (5th one already reserved for next spring!) Best campground we go to all year and we do about 8 or more trips a year. Beautiful creek side setting. Love the sound of the water. Great and very helpful staff, especially Tom who helps you back in your RV, he’s the best. Can’t say enough good about this place.

Thank you for coming back to Moonshine Creek and for your five star review. We really appreciate our repeat campers and it is so nice to see familiar faces year after year. I'll pass along your compliment to Tom, sounds like he is giving Jim some competition! Seriously Tom & Misty are the best and we are super lucky to have them. Thanks again and we will see your next spring.

I can’t say enough about this place! It has a beautiful stream running thru the entire place with chairs & benches placed all around so you can sit & enjoy it! Even a few benches in the water so you can sit with your feet in the water! There are trails you can walk along the creek & up the hill where there are cabins & really cool tent spots! The owners are so nice & helpful! They meet you when you come in & help you to your site! It’s close enough to so many things that you can use it as your home base to see the sites in Cherokee, Sylva, Waynesville, Ashville & the Blue Ridge Parkway access is right around the corner! Plenty of waterfalls within a short drive! Do not hesitate or look anywhere! You will miss a real gem if you do!

My stay was in mid-October ‘22. This was my absolute favorite time spent camping for 8 days. The place is kept in superb order, ran by a very polite and proper owner and staff, great amenities for primitive camping, and at a very affordable price. Entrance is secluded and nestled into a hollow that gives you the remote feel and privacy needed. This is a must for anyone looking to experience a classic American feel to an experience among respectful folk. My experience was accentuated by a creek aside my very private campsite and reasonable distance drive for hiking daily. Can’t express enough how upright the owner is and his prompt response to accommodate my need for a site AND then offered up the best serenity available in his outfit. Bravo and encore!

Such a peaceful place and the most beautiful scenery. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. There is a little store and the laundry and bathhouse faculty is so nice and clean. We went last year and tent camped and had a blast and this year we carried the camper and had another great visit.. the grandchildren visited and had a great time too. We plan to go back next year

Beautiful campground and helpful owners. This was our 2nd trip here. Nice quiet location with soothing water running through the center. We had vehicle problems and the owner recommended great people to solve our problems. They also have a great little store on site.

We stayed at Moonshine Creek 9/2/22 thru 9/6/22. Great campground, beautiful setting with creek side sites. We stayed in site 20C and enjoyed every minute. The sound of the creek was awesome. Our daughter stayed in site T58 by the waterfall.

Thank you for your nice review of Moonshine Creek Campground. All of our sites back right up to a rushing creek so anywhere you are in the campground you will have the wonderful sound of the water. Site 58 is a great tent site too and perfect if you want to be in the back of the campground close to some of the RV sites. Thanks again for your kind words and hope to see you back sometime soon.

What a great weekend! We couldn’t have asked for more. We initially planned on tent camping but because of weather we were fortunate enough to get a tenters cabin which was completely amazing! No perks but all that was needed…extremely comfortable bed/space, beautiful surroundings, close to facilities and just perfect!!! So private and couldn’t ask for a better experience!!! Thanks Allison & Jeff for your five star review of Moonshine Creek Campground. So happy you found us and enjoyed your stay. The tenters cabins are a great alternative to tent camping especially during rainy weather. Everything you need but you still feel like you are camping in the outdoors.
