I was lucky to spend 5 nights at the Ruark Inn last week. The Inn is beautiful and Linda and Rick made me feel so welcome. Rick gave me a terrific tour of Southport with his famous golf cart tour. It was the perfect introduction to this charming town. They were also kind enough to take me to the car rental place about 15 minutes away so I could pick up my rental car. I used Uber to get to the Inn from ILM because my flight came in late. One of the reasons I chose the Ruark Inn (in addition to the terrific reviews) was because someone in a past review mentioned that Linda is a realtor and was helpful in their relocation. The purpose of my trip was also to look at Southport as a possible place for us to relocate. Linda was fabulous. I immediately felt comfortable with her and she knows the local market very well. She facilitated everything and made it easy. Both Rick and Linda know so much about Southport I was able to get many questions answered quickly. They also were helpful in identifying local resources - and places for dinner and other things that made my time in Southport so enjoyable. Breakfasts were wonderful and Rick adapted each breakfast to my needs. There were a number of very interesting other guests during my stay and we had several fascinating discussions! I stayed in the Charlotte Room and it was perfect. Home away from home. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Thanks so much Linda and Rick for a great stay. Thanks in large part to you both we will soon be residents of Southport!

We stayed during new years eve. The B&B offers a perfect location for visiting Southport. The owners make every effort to accommodate their guests and to provide a welcoming atmosphere. The B&B is cozy and comfortable. The breakfast is substantial and very well done and delicious, too. Afternoon wine and snacks are provided, too. The rooms , though small, offer great privacy and are comfortable. The common area is well stocked with books. There are rocking chairs on the porch as well as a comfortable potion with gas fire pit for outside sitting. Bicycles are available to use as well.

Thank you Joe so much for your review of the Robert Ruark Inn. We enjoyed having you both here during the holiday and to celebrate the new year! We are so happy you enjoyed Charlotte's Room. I agree that although it is the smallest of our rooms, it is cozy and comfortable. The three large windows and the stained glass window add to its charm. Glad you used the fire pit, too. That's one of my favorite things to do on a brisk night. Thank you again! We hope to see you again one day! Happy New Year 2020! Linda & Rick

Thank you Carol so much for the review. It was wonderful seeing you again; especially during the Holiday Season! We are glad you were able to enjoy Southport during the Holidays. Even though the chill is in the air, people are out walking, shopping, dinning and enjoying the waterfront. There were even many sail boats out yesterday (New Year's Day)! All our best in the new year! Hope to see you soon! Take care, Linda & Rick
