My college friends and I spent a delightful weekend at the Benjamin W. Best Country Inn and we stayed at the Carriage House. Mary Betty and Ossie were wonderful hosts, so warm, welcoming, and we felt right at home. Breakfast was outstanding, meat was provided from the farm, free range eggs, and natural and fresh fruits. The Inn is convenient... More

My husband and I and two other couples recently stayed at the Benjamin W. Best Country Inn and we had an absolutely wonderful experience there. The innkeepers, Mary Betty and Ossie, are warm, welcoming, delightful, down to earth people who made us feel completely at home. We enjoyed laughing and talking with them. The Inn has many beautiful, high quality... More

My wife, infant daughter, and I very much enjoyed our two night stay at the historic B. W. Best. Mary Betty and Ossie are gracious hosts who made us feel right at home. We stayed in the two room Carriage House, which could accommodate a family. There's a kitchenette, full bath, and space to spread out on a porch and... More

My husband and I had the most relaxing weekend getaway at the Benjamin Best Country Inn. If you are planning to dine at the Chef and the Farmer in Kinston (and you will need to overnight, as they only serve dinner), then this is THE place to stay! Rent the quiet carriage house (master bedroom, bath, sitting room and mini... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Benjamin W. Best Country Inn and Carriage House over Valentine's Day weekend. We lodged in the carriage house, which was quaint, peaceful, and quiet. We had a living room, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was well stocked and clean. Hot water was abundant... More

Step back in time and enjoy the "Southern" charm, elegance and extraordinary yummy but healthy food and historic accommodations of this National Registry Property ( circa 1845-50 ). We loved the fabulous food, the warm and informative hosts... Ossie and Mary Betty Kearney, the on site country store where I purchased farm eggs, delicious gluten free muffin mix and locally... My daughter was married at the Benjamin W. Best Inn. She spent her wedding night in the Carriage House. This is a lovely and quiet place. It takes you back into time. Mary Betty and her husband were FANTASTIC hosts. She made sure the Wedding and reception were to my liking. Pictures of this place doesn't do it justice. You... More

We spent the night at this wonderful B&B with our 2 children in the carriage house. The home was so beautiful and comfortable. Antiques surrounded us and the beds were very comfortable Mary Betty and her husband could not have been nicer. They were so kind and invited us into every corner of her home and on the farm. My... My husband and I had a great time at this B&B. We stayed in the carriage house, which was an entirely separate small house just to ourselves. We were served sweet tea while we read our books on the porch after we arrived and were offered a golf cart to explore the farm. We were given excellent recommendations for dinner... More

My son and I had spent a wonderful night with Betty. We stayed in the Carriage House and enjoyed staying not only at a beautiful historic inn, but also a working farm. We even met the cows. Our breakfast of traditional southern fare was wonderful (especially the homemade biscuits). She made some great recommendations for how to spend the rest... More
