This place is so old and decrepit it should be closed down. Trouble is there is very little other choice in Norseman. It was $110 a night for a hot, stuffy fibro box with uncomfortable bed and a shower that didnt spray anywhere other than up ! If you can, find something else.

Road trip one nighter stop over. The building exterior is showing age and crumbling however inside is spacious and comfortable. We had a spa room and thoroughly enjoyed the spa after days of driving. The morning self serve brekky was basic but useful. The price was cheap compared to the rest of the Nullarbor stops. The place obviously has history...

We stayed here New Year's Eve. Had the place to ourselves. Old spacious room, big spa, and there's something interesting in every part of its huge old spaces. We lived Norseman, but I guess its battler character hasn't caught on with the hipsters yet.

I stayed here recently before driving across the Nullarbor. The hotel is a little bit dated but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was complimentary and self-serve. If I ever make the trip again I will definitely stay here.

Stayed here for one night before heading east over the Nullabor. Booked one of the spa rooms in the main hotel for $110. Upon arrival we needed to phone someone to get them to come to reception, but this didn't take long once we read the instructions at the desk. Whilst quirky and interesting, the shared areas could do with...

Agreeing with another reviewer, do not be put off by the seemingly rundown exterior. The two-bedroom apartment we stayed in was spacious and very clean and tidy, and the bathroom recently renovated. Dogs are welcome, and you are only a short walk to the pub and good meals. I would absolutely stay there again.

The Railway Motel is in the former Railway Hotel - it no longer operates as a hotel, but has a range of motel style accomodation. The building and rooms are slowly being renovated. I stayed the motel style accomodation - the cheapest rooms available ($90/night - including self serve continental breakfast) which are in separate demountable style buildings. The rooms...

Although a budget motel and near railway line as the name suggests - trains seem to run only during the daylight hours. Room fairly basic but for cost of room terrific value. Nice touch to include self serve breakfast the next morning. Think probably with location quietest motel in town too

Don't be put off by the rundown facade of this magnificent building or the extensive renovations that are being undertaken. The rooms are huge and spotless, sheets crisp and clean and bathrooms sparkling. This once magnificent building is being bought back to life by an extraordinarily kind and interesting lady. Generous help yourself breakfast was always welcoming and evening fires...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Railway Motel and Deco Guesthouse provides a cheaper accommodation option with character and a slightly dilapidated charm. The old hotel has been converted into delightful en suite rooms with large bathrooms and spa baths while the motel units are cheap, clean and comfortable. All the en suite rooms have reverse cycle air conditioning, television, fridge, microwave, kettle and hot drinks. The en suite rooms include a light self serve breakfast in the foyer of the old hotel, which is often quite a social event. The motel does not provide evening meals but guests need only walk 200 metres to the local hotel which provides a range of hearty meals or takeaways. There is also a guest kitchen and a barbeque if guests prefer to prepare their own meals. ... more   less
