Good place. Comfortable accommodation. Warm reception. Will be my choice in Norseman given opportunity to return. Quiet location. Definitely has charm, plus the flat accommodation provided really has the comforts and decor of home, was much appreciated after 18 hours travelling.

This premise is a wonderful old building that is being restored little by little by the current owner. The room, with spa bath, was large and easily accommodated two people and their bags. From the friendly reception from the owner and information freely given and the quaint/quirky guest lounge, breakfast room and nice warm fire at night it was a... More

Stayed there on way to Perth from Melbourne across the Eyre Highway. Very cold in foyer and only warm area was in bedroom. No dinner provided - had to go to local pub which had staff that were friendly. Good variety available for breakfast. Had to ring owner when we arrived for her to come to book us in. The... More

To be honest, you can't expect 5 star accommodation and services when crossing The Nullarbor and Norseman as a town is a non entity. The local tourist information office recommended The Caltex Service Station for dinner! However The Railway Motel and Inn is an OK overnighter. To be fair the property is well tired but they do the basics well.... More

Lots of space to move around as well as a comfortable room. Spa bath was a luxury. We appreciated the heating and being able to control the temperature ourselves. Breakfast self serve was more varied than many of these set ups in pubs. Plunger coffee an unexpected treat. We left well set up for a long drive east. Jane and... More

Tiny, dirty room. Breakfast was thrown in but consisted of toast and condiments which you organized yourself in the kitchen. Then you had to clean up and wash the dishes yourself. Was not impressed with Norseman overall but our stay at this accommodation really made us feel depressed on our first night of our road trip. Not a pleasant place... More

We stopped at the railway on our way east, for the great price, rooms are clean and warm, bed was comfortable and the staff are really friendly! The outside of the hotel is now red though which was challenging to find in the dark! Would definitely stay again!

This place is great. Rustic charm. Very clean and spacious. It is exactly what you would need when passing by for a good clean room. The pub on the corner has great food and is only a short walk up the road. Owner is friendly and accommodating. It is quiet of a night but a little noisy of the morning... More

We stayed here for one night on our way from Perth to eastern states. The room was clean, showers hot, bed was comfortable and the rate reflected that. It was an old basic motel room which did the job.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Railway Motel and Deco Guesthouse provides a cheaper accommodation option with character and a slightly dilapidated charm. The old hotel has been converted into delightful en suite rooms with large bathrooms and spa baths while the motel units are cheap, clean and comfortable. All the en suite rooms have reverse cycle air conditioning, television, fridge, microwave, kettle and hot drinks. The en suite rooms include a light self serve breakfast in the foyer of the old hotel, which is often quite a social event. The motel does not provide evening meals but guests need only walk 200 metres to the local hotel which provides a range of hearty meals or takeaways. There is also a guest kitchen and a barbeque if guests prefer to prepare their own meals. ... more   less
