Although it's 5 hours from Derby off the Gibb River Road it was well worth it plenty to see and do. Sooo many birds I hadn't seen before. Something for everyone to do ranging from canoeing down the river with fresh water crocs ,swimming in water holes , sunset tours ,guided and unguided walks, bird watching , star gazing, and best... Mornington is first a working conservancy - so think Ph.D. Students studying how to save fauna and flora. Secondly it is a marvellous way to enjoy awesome nature of the Kimberleys with the insights of guides, comfortable tents (kind of glamping without the pretension) and really very good food. The swimming in the gorges is memorable as is the sheer... More

We spent two days at Mornington recently and we were blown away by everything we experienced and everyone we met. The accommodation was in a luxury tent down near the river. The tent was large and spacious with a King size bed, plus another single bed, with an electric fan that was much appreciated in the late-September heat. Just outside... More

Driving there feels like traveling to the end of the world, crossing devastated, vast cattle plains, two hours on a gravel road and not one other car to be seen... but then you end up in paradise. The shady campground provides privacy and beautiful trees worth looking at. The amenities are clean and nice, there are hot showers and flush... More

This is called 'glamping' (i.e. self contained, permanent big tents). A wonderful experience for us. The staff are conservationists and very enthusiastic over this site. Loved our stay. Excellent evening talk and walk around Annie River was a great experience

Not set up for wheelchair accessibility but toilets and showers are do-able (ask for a plastic chair at reception). Would be wonderful to see an upgrade to accessibility next time we visit..! Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Super quiet and peaceful at night times; lots of space between the unallocated sites. This was a favourite spot on the Gibb River... More

We stayed at a safari tent ,which is large, comfortable and very private. Service was good. Meals inc. breakfast, packed lunch and dinner were quality and delicious. All tents are right on Annie's creek. 80 kms (2 hours drive) off the main road , but its a great road with beautiful views. Great spot to stay as part of the... More

We stayed in the "Glamping" area - with lovely permanent tents with an ensuite bathroom. Clean, spacious and with its own deck overlooking the creek. You have tea/ coffee facilities in your room , a comfy bed and we really felt very comfy there!. The camping ground down the road looked gorgeous though though and the facilities there looked clean... More

My wife and I stayed at Mornington for 3 nights in June 2015 with five other couples. It was absolutely fantastic. The camping area beside a small creek was perfect for our camper trailer and the ablutions were excellent, especially considering the remote location. The service by the staff was first class and the prices for food and drinks are... More
