Well we were not too sure what to expect from the Mermaid Restaurant but we are so glad we ate here. Such value for money, and the food was really good! I had the Oven roasted lamb shanks and 2 great big shanks came out in a bowl, the meat was so tender and falling off the bone, the taste... More

Well situated, recently renovated, comfortable Hotel. We enjoyed the 'all you can eat' barbecue on a Sunday night. Our room had a lovely ocean view and was equipped with tea and coffee making facilities along with a fridge. Air conditioned and comfy bed.

I like staying at the Mermaid it is very clean and nice staff is awesome, food is nice , rooms are nice , pub is nice to go and relax and watch footy, or just meeting mates and making new friends, walking to the beach is about 1 min and it is beautiful to see the sun set and come... More

I stay here once a month for work. Rooms are neat and tidy, TV selection is huge and the pub grub is great. The girls at the bar/reception/restaurant are alway friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a little rough around the edges but this is Dampier, not Perth. I only overnight there but every trip I get the fish and... More

We decided to hide here for lunch on a very hot day. Beer was cold, bar well air conditioned & typical pub food. The serves where large, very large. All 4 meals where fine, no complaints. Would have lunch there again.

Great local pub in the Pilbra. Steaks and Seafood are great. Many good yarns with the locals. Try the barramundi. Pop down the road and have a pic with Red Dog or pop into Karratha. Plenty of easy parking. Pool table and nice outdoor seating.

Small rooms but fairly well appointed, clean, friendly staff both at the motel and in the hotel bar & bistro...outdoor area was a brilliant place for a few frothies after 9 hours on the road & to watch a sunset...would stay there again, only let down was that the pool area was padlocked & looking forward to a bit of... Hi Cheryl, Thank you for your kind review. We are working on the pool area very soon, we will be having it relined and landscaped so we can open it up again for use. Unfortunately until then we have to swim in the sea! I hope you get the chance to visit again once it is open. Kind Regards, Alex... More

We stayed at the hotel as an alternative to staying in the big town. There is nothing here in Dampier but peace and quiet. The hotel is positioned nicely not far from the waters edge. The room we had was newly renovated in the past year or 2, but sadly the cleaners are letting this stay down. The new bathroom... More

Apparently it is a WA thing that pubs are at the end of streets. Once found it was great. Lovely staff. Lovely town. Plenty to sees do do here. Great place to just relax. Also visit the Mission for Seafarers.

Dampier does not have a lot of choices for accommodation. In past years the service was fairly OK, but seems to have diminished lately. Accommodation is basic, not well serviced and the bathroom can only best be described as OK and not cleaned during the duration of stay. Towels are changed daily however. Bedding is just close the covers, and... More
