I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast where you never met the owner. No one lives on site so I find that odd. With a B and B you expect to have a more personable stay to find out about the area and the history of the Inn. The only people we met was someone who gave us the key. Its a good thing she was there because the key was not in the mail box like expected. Also the person cooking breakfast was very nice and friendly. The place is clean and had most things you would expect. Lets talk breakfast since it is half of what you pay for. They did accommodate one persons food allergies. But to say the least they were underwhelming. The first day was scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. The next day was egg puffs, sausage and toast. You expect things you would not prepare yourself at home. Just an FYI for the owner. Also there is a beautiful courtyard that NO ONE tells you about and we went looking for. Had to go through 2 closed doors with all the lights off. Not very welcoming. This should be a highlight of the grounds.…
Juat completed my first stay at the firehouse inn. Family had stayed there before but this was my first personal visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the property and proximity to the Tryon International Equestrian Center. We stayed in Room 6 which had lots of character and plenty of room. The private entrance was a nice bonus. A special thanks to Donna for serving up some great breakfasts. Not sure when we will be down in the area again but you all will be at the top of our list for places to stay - hopefully the blueberry French toast will be back on the menu!!!
The room was spacious and comfortable, and perfect for traveling with a dog. The breakfast space was similarly beautiful and the food delicious and well presented. The chef was really nice and helpful about what to see in the area. The locations is great for walking in town to coffee shops and Kidsenses.
We went to the Firehouse Inn for the first time to celebrate a belated anniversary getaway. What a great place! Our room was #1 and the king bed was extra comfortable. There was a nice sitting couch in front if you wanted to watch tv, plus an area with a desk and chair.. A huge walk in closet that used to be a vault. Plus the bathroom was huge! Giant soaking tub and a shower plus separate areas to get ready. The chef Donna was a fantastic cook and super friendly too! Her blueberry French toast, spinach frittata, fresh fruit, and maple cayenne bacon was a big hit. The place is so beautiful and very clean. You can walk down the road to grab a bite to eat whether it is some pizza or some ice cream near by and there are some cute shops in town. We will definitely return again! It was a great location to drive out to other areas like Chimney Rock, Hendersonville, and Saluda. …
Room 1 with extra space. Donna and Tahlia alway make you feel at home. I often don’t need lunch Donna makes such a delicious filling breakfast. Location is convenient to town, bike paths, walking trails and Lake Lure.
We stayed three nights in the large Rm 6 "apartment" and loved it. Location was convenient for dining and our travels. Room was comfortable, spacious, clean and fun with quirky historical details. Separate entrance was handy. Breakfasts were on-time even when we requested time adjustment. They were hearty, creative and delicious. Access to cold drinks, snacks and stunning great room during the day allowed us to get our computer tasks done in style. We'll be back!
I was in room 2, and apart from the fireplace not working, my room was lovely and accommodating, and my stay was delightful! Donna, who creates works of art for breakfast, makes the difference. She is kind, helpful, friendly, and talented. She works hard to ensure your stay is a positive one. I look forward to enjoying the beauty and hospitality of the Firehouse Inn again in the future. Even more, I hope to see Donna's friendly and welcoming face and can't wait to savor another one of her delicious creations!
We had an absolute wonderful stay of four nights stay during Christmas and cannot say enough about this bed and breakfast. How beautiful and cozy we found it all! The room we chose (room 1) was huge! With a king size bed, walk in closet (and this is not an understatement i the slightest) and magnificent bathroom suite, you would find yourself hard pressed to be disappointed. The bed was comfy, and the fireplaces were fantastic!!!! I especially loved taking a ‘swim’ each night in my giant jacuzzi!!!! You could easily have 2 adults in there!!! As for hospitality…,Donna, the chef, was accommodating as well, making breakfast each morning for all the guests, and having goodies out to enjoy during our stay. The coffee bar was adorned with all sorts of choices, and the juices and waters were available as well all day long. The town, which is small, but big on character, is also so moms thing to adore. Plenty of places to visit within a 30 minute drive, we used Rutherfordton as our key port, and ventured out to Brevard, Forest City, Hendersonville and Asheville. Each city hosting wonderful displays of Christmas lights, shops and restaurants. Thank you to the inn and the lovely people of NC.…
The hubs and I stayed here for our anniversary. Perfect location. Easy access. Walked to shops and restaurants. The room was elegant and comfy. Guests are free to use the open room at their leisure with chilled water and juices, coffee and cookies. Breakfast was wonderful and Donna, our chef was just a delight. Highly recommend.
