Although the Weintal has a modernised reception/bar/lounge area the rooms are from an earlier period. Multi-story accomodation with many of the noise issues of such buildings. Sound from other units is easily heard throughout the complex. The spa units, which we occupied, are very noisy and the any adjoining spa room can be heard at a distracting level. We did not find any restrictions on time of use of the spa which could be problematic depending on the occupier. The Bistro is of average quality but priced at the higher end on Pokie/Bistros. Much better value for money meals are available in Tununda main St. The units were clean and serviceable but I would recommend only as a business travel overnighter rather than a couples break which was our case.

Found the stay perfect for touring the Barossa, enjoying wineries and different attractions in the Barossa. The Barossa Weintal Hotel’s central location was also easily accessed by my disabled husband too. The new menu also hit the spot after a busy day touring around the region.

Staying at this “refurbished” hotel has to be the most disappointing experience of our otherwise wonderful weekend away in the beautiful Barossa Valley. After checking in, keycard failed to open door and had to walk back to office in the rain to reset card. On entering room which was not preheated and quite cold we noted that room was very tired and lacked the refurbishment we had expected. I would have expected this room to be at a cost of around $80 per night judging from others we have stayed previously. The decor is way dated and there was no dining table even though there was adequate room to place one. Bed was adequate. Shower was hot. We skipped breakfast as we thought what was on offer was expensive. Checking out we were told of a 1.5% credit surcharge on our visa debit card. What the hell! I know it can be passed on but nevertheless we have never come across that charge before. Using AMEX, yes we have become accustomed to the surcharge but on a debit card. REALLY? We will not stay here again and I urge others to do likewise sending this establishment a message about what is fair and what us not!

Great place for the money you pay. Nice new venue facilities for dinner. Will come back definitely. We had our room ready before the normal time which saved us hanging around. Parking easy and the location is central when visiting Barossa.

Great service and it met our needs for a night away with out the kids. However this location would suit families as well. Easy to find on the main road of Tanunda. Not real central to the town but if you have a car it is a quick drive.
