Travelled from Coober Pedy to Marree via William Creek and to arrive at the Marree Hotel with the knowledge of a clean bed, hot shower, cold drink and food was heaven! Stayed in a motel cabin, basic but very clean, plenty of hot water and soft fluffy towels! Continental breakfast was included in the price and hit the spot keeping... More

We stopped here for one night, there was off street parking, we ate here at the pub, the food and service was very good, the staff was helpful and friendly. We had a Cabin in the back section, it was well set up with what we needed. Not a bad spot to stay over night. There is no internet here,... More

We stayed at Marree Hotel with our kids recently on route to Birdsville QLD. The accommodation was clean and pretty good for an outback hotel. Shared bathrooms were clean and had great hot water and sufficient facilities for the number of guests. The service was fantastic and the included breakfast come morning was a welcome inclusion so we could ensure... More

Dropped in on the weekend for lunch and wasn't disappointed. We both had a hamburger which had some kind of name, famous burger or something. Too big to eat by hand so had to use cutlery. This thing kept us going for hours so give it a go.

We stayed in the motel units adjoining the hotel. They are very basic but then again we did not expect "The Ritz" in this outback area. The bed was comfortable and the room clean with plenty of hot water in the ensuite bathroom. Our evening meal in the hotel dining room was basic but very nice. The staff were all... More

Good country hotel miles from no where. Rooms are very basic and a extra blanket would have been good. Food and hospitality made up for this. Probably should have paid extra for a motel room. The meat loaf and gravy plus the chicken were excellent. Good museum showing days gone by.

The Marree Hotel staff are fantastic, very helpful - especially Bec and the food was great. Stayed in a cabin which was clean and comfortable- accommodation was basic but the hotel is very rich in history and has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were lovely and we really enjoyed our time here! Part of Australia's wonderful history!

Booked in for a nights stay on the way to Alice, and booked in 3 days later on the way home. Phil and Maze are great as are all the staff - I was able to ring Rebecca and Oara from Alice and Coober Pedy and get weather updates ( very wet ) and road closures etc..... unlike William Creek... More

While this would probably not be 4 stars in the city, being plain rather than fancy in any way, the donga units at the back of the hotel were spacious, quiet, clean and very comfortable. The towels were fluffy and generous in size, and while there were no easy chairs, there was a table and 2 chairs. The hotel itself... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Phil and Marilyn Turner took over the iconic Marree Hotel in late October 2011 and is now barely recognisable as the hotel it was before. With classic outback service and world class hospitality, cold beer on tap, clean and comfortable rooms and a fantastic dinner menu, the Marree Hotel offers much more than you would expect in this remote area. The Marree Hotel is proud to boast 3 dining rooms, a cafe, campground, pool, hot showers, bar, en-suite/air-conditioned rooms, The 'Tom Kruse' / Back of Beyond collection, a stunning Lake Eyre mural, aboriginal art gallery and over 130 years of history. Situated at the branch of the iconic Birdsville and Oodnadatta tracks the hotel dominates the skyline for miles. ... more   less
