We were really happy with Azelea Cedar Rose Cottage - it's well located, has a lovely outlook to vineyards out the back and best of all has four decent sized queen bedrooms and two central bathrooms so it is perfect for non-family groups who are sharing. The house has everything (except, curiously, a decent corkscrew!) and we were in equal parts bemused and delighted with all the "stuff" both useful and decorative. If you hate a twee cottage and are looking for somewhere stylish it is probably not for you, but if you're visiting as a group of friends and after for a great place to stay with plenty of room for group meals and wine on the back deck where no one has to sleep in a bunk bed then you won't go wrong with this cottage. Oh almost forgot to mention the amazing breakfast ingredients supplied, fridge and pantry were both fully stocked with everything you need.

My husband and I stayed at Jasmine's cottage in Lyndoch to celebrate my 50th birthday. We got more than we bargained for the the state-wide power outage, but Jamine's cottage was a charming place to spend it with candles and a wood-fired stove. The good-sized kitchen was well-stocked with breakfast items (lots of tomatoes, eggs and locally cured bacon). We loved the view of the vineyards at the back and a soak in the large spa bath was very welcome after a full day of cycling around the Barossa. Shabby chic is a perfect description for the decor and the only improvement I could suggest is to draft proof the bottom of the doors, though with the reverse cycle air con and the wood-fired stove, we were never cold.

Although the Rosebelle Cottage was mostly clean and decorated in a homely fashion, it smelled musty and the garden needed a lot of maintenance. Very close to a main road the traffic was constant and the rooms very dark - not like the pictures you may have seen! We paid far too much for rooms where the fireplace, oven, BBQ and spa all needed thorough cleaning and shower head needs replacing. After travelling in Europe last year, I'm very sorry to have to give my first bad review on this site so close to my own home.

Excited about our recent trip for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We were offered an upgrade from Merlot House to Rosebelle cottage,as other people wanted to stay longer. After finally finding it we walked in and thought we were in another century. Don't be fooled by photos on Internet. The bedroom was adorned with stuff and was musty. The kitchen quite modern and you could cook up a storm and put the dishes in the dishwasher.Maybe you might need to as this cottage, the owners old house is $375:00 a night. We got a better deal but nearly wanted to leave. The heating was a wood fire and no matches and in the dining room a gas heater that we had to get the service man to come and fix it the next day. After having an average meal at the restaurant, which we have had wonderful meals in the past, we spent a rather uncomfortable night sitting on our bed. At least they did have an oil filled heater on in there. Bed was hard, no wardrobe and as we were staying here 3 nights we thought that we would of been offerred the other room with a wardrobe. Breakfast provisions good. Shower over bath tricky as I had wrist surgery. Also maybe a cake of soap. Couldn't use the bottles provided. You could also do a few renovations and much needed gardening and painting outside. Please remove some of the books, clutter and breakable stuff as all this adds up to people worrying about. Not Suitable for children. Lyndoch Hill we have been loyal to you, but very disappointed this time. Don't offer upgrades if there not!

This is a lovely house. We really enjoyed our stay here. Decor is 50s/French Provincial (didn't know you could find so many 'pink' things), very clean, and well appointed. Provisions for breakfast were excellent. The beds could do with upgrading, but other than that we were very comfortable.
