Like Matt H, we were disappointed by our stay at Honeysuckle Rise. The setting is lovely and the cottage looks nice but closer acquaintance doesn't leave you so happy. Issues: Used toileteries Second hand food (opened packets) Pretty ordinary provisions - we used a lot of our own Dead flies abounding on window sills and other flat surfaces Dust in... More

As you can see from the background of this reviewer, with 311 reviews, they must be professionals. Comments made could not be true as our breakfast foods are replaced with each guest party that stays. The usual comment is that so many extra items are provided for convenience and at no extra charge. Very generous! Toiletries are large pump containers... More

This beautifully located cottage was everything we were hoping to find while celebrating a special occasion in the Coonawarra. The Accomodation and surrounding gardens were immaculately presented. It was obvious that the owners took real pride in their investment. We stayed at Honeysuckle Rise for three nights and not once did we feel the need to dine away from these... More

We stayed in the "Room with a View" which is not just a room, it is a large apartment on the second floor of the main house. It has a small but adequate kitchen, an eating area with a view of the vineyard, a living room with a view of the vineyard, a bedroom, and a bathroom with a spa... More

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Cottage this weekend! The gorgeous Cottage was so beautifully set up for a relaxing stay amongst the vines! It is very close to wineries, shops and galleries, and our hosts Bonnie and Dennis were so helpful and welcoming. The Cottage was warm, comfortable and the breakfast provisions were more than adequate... More

We found HSR cottage to be everything we wanted it to be. With space to relax, gorgeous views and a warm fire to enjoy the local reds, readily available from the many cellar door tasting venues, we could not have been happier. Surrounded by vines, the sounds of birds and picturesque gum trees just outside the window, it is the... More

We were originally intoxicated by our first visit to Highbank for a tasting only, and that was before we drank a drop! Dennis & Bonnie were very talkative, and we bought up on their wine. Planning a visit again 2 years later, we were excited by the prospect of staying on the vineyard. BUT we discovered rodent droppings on and... More

Their entire building was totally cleaned mid day prior to their late arrival as these guests arrived after dark when they requested fire wood, which we provided. (Charge for wood was covered on our booking form as was statement rates subject to change) We mentioned we were experiencing high mouse activity pressure in the region at that time and not... More

We stayed in Room with a View for 2 nights while touring South Australia wine country between Adelaide and Melbourne in April 2012. Highbank was my favorite accommodation on our Australia trip, a Tuscan oasis in small town Australia. Room with a View was plenty spacious for our group of 3 people, with a private bedroom and living room with... More

My Fiance and I stayed in Room with a View for two nights in January 2012, much to our delight. The accommodation is attractive, spacious and comfortable, with a massive spa-bath to soak in after the day's activities. The views of the vineyard are amazing as is the wine which we are still drinking at home, and the stars at... More

What a fantastic stay we had at Highbank. Our first night was in the Room with a View, a charming self contained first floor cottage, with the most incredible views of the vineyards and surrounding area. Our second night we spent in the Honeysuckle Cottage. Completely independent with its own drive way, the cottage is complete, spacious and caters well... More

My wife and I spent one wonderful night in The Room with a View accomodation which is just accros the vineyard from the larger cottage. The building is located just inside the vineyard but feels a million miles from anywhere. We sat outside in the late afternoon sun enjoying one of Denis's fine wines listening to nothing but the wildlife.... More
