The buildings are quite historic but don't be put off from that- its are well worth the stay. the building are within easy walking distance of the local hotels and main street which has interesting antique and gift stores.

I can understand why No open fires now. Maybe council could up the price on a couple and install combustion fires and wood supply and replace carpet. Better yet if it is an issue just manage the good reverse cycle system to suit. When room is warm wait till Shutter is pointing away from the couch and switch off the... More

I have stayed her many times over the years but was so disappointed to find they have now banned use of the open fireplaces and installed RC air conditioners. Yes they warm the room up well but not the same atmosphere, which we were hoping for in a country weekend away. Another new thing is TVs- not really needed either.... More

What a great improvement the new managers have done . Great to see the cottages are getting more modern with the comforts of heating, cooling, new furniture and tv. Very comfortable for our family and very clean . Great job. Thanks for a nice weekend

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed the charm of the old miners cottages. They are being renovated, but were very reasonably priced. A very short walk from the town centre, which has an excellent bakery, and the dinner we enjoyed at the Burra Hotel was excellent (I highly recommend the lamb shanks). Next time we will have to... Stayed in Cottage 12 for 4 nights, had real character, loved the stay, originally had booked for 3 nights, but extended so much to do in Burra and the surrounds. Price for cottage was reasonable, the Burra Historical Key which can be purchased from the information centre is a must, allows you to do a self guided tour and access... More

Built in 1851 with thick walls the row of cottages are quiet cosy and exotic. Now with flat screen TV and modern bathrooms. While the couches were a bit rundown it was great for overnight and would be great for a longer stay. 5 minute walk to main street.

The cottages are being renovated but we were completely happy & comfortable with the one we stopped in. Burra is a beautiful little town however the cottages are being managed by the caravan park & Anne the Manager was absolutely rude to me. I will not stay there again.
