A basic but decent stay. Only stayed here for 1 night so we could do the dolphin feeding in the morning. It was a nice little motel, but pretty basic. It’s not very well sound proofed and being in warm Queensland, the place is only constructed of wood and thin single glazed windows. If you get a noisy neighbour you will know about it as we could hear talking from the room next door. Room itself was fine, decent double bed, small TV, little kitchenette, but no oven, dated bathroom but was fine. The air con/heater was very loud and one window was only a fly net and wooden slats. It’s next to a pub so again can get noisy. It was fine, but don’t expect luxury.

We normally call into Rainbow Beach to stay for a few days as we head north at this time of year, but thought for something different we would drop into Tin Can Bay and chose one of the units here. It was a great stay - clean, super comfy beds, lovely rooms. Ours were away from car parking so no headlights beaming into your room. Would totally recommend for anyone wanting a short or longer stay. Everything conveniently within walking distance.

Sleepy Lagoon Motel is our first port of call when working in the area. The team are always welcoming and very hospitable. Our roofing crews are always taken care of very well, and they love staying there. You'd be hard pressed to find anywhere as good as this!

The rooms are excellent, spacious and spotless, very well equipped for a regional motel. The units are close together so some early morning noise can make sleeping in a challenge. Not having the car directly outside your unit makes for better ambience, but might inconvenience some travelers. Easy walk to Tin Can Bay attractions. Hotel is next door for food and drink.

Very friendly and helpful, staff where all pleasant. Quiet location, rooms were very clean, beds comfy. Minutes to everything we needed. AC struggled on very warm days, a fan would of been ideal. Thanks for the stay

Affable and helpful reception by Steve. Beds comfiest I have ever slept in (I am going to find out the brand!) Towels and linen top quality, rooms well appointed. Small but very adequate kitchen. Lovely outdoor garden areas with 2 bbq spots and different places to sit and relax. Staff friendly and helpful. Totally recommend this motel.

Friendly staff. We booked a house and a unit as there were 7 of us. The house was clean and tidy and plenty of room . Would have liked cover for the car seeing it was a big yard as it poured raining and got wet taking the bags to the car. All the basics were provided.

Tin Can Bay is a quiet place, but if you are planning on feeding the dolphins at Barnacles Dolphin Centre then you cannot beat this motel. We booked this last minute and arranged the dolphin feeding and breakfast too at the Barnacles Dolphin Centre via their direct booking website. It was very easy to check in and out and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Cabins were clean and tidy and had all you would need for a few nights away.
