Detailed Reviews
Tin Can Bay is a quiet place, but if you are planning on feeding the dolphins at Barnacles Dolphin Centre then you cannot beat this motel.
We booked this last minute and arranged the dolphin feeding and breakfast too at the Barnacles Dolphin Centre via their direct booking website.
It was very easy to check in and out and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Cabins were clean and tidy and had all you would need for a few nights away.

Central in Tin Can Bay, this place should not be passed by. The price is very reasonable and the welcome very warm. The room, cabin, unit, call it what you will is very comfortable. The kitchen is well enough provided for, with a fridge, mictowave, toaster and kettle. The bathroom even has an extractor fan that works (not often the case these days) in fact the entire unit was in good working order.
The site was clean and tidy, my only complaint would have been that the cabins opened on to each other. If they are all full and you all leave or arrive together, there would be a big traffic jam! Sitting on the shared veranda would also be a squeeze andthey looked directly on to the opposte unit.
The units are next door to a pub for food and a drive through, for drink. There was no noise at night and it is central for all that Tin Can Bay offers.
The wifi was excellent!

Thank you for your excellent review and thoughtful feedback Steve. We have recently added the outdoor deck area as well for all guests to use so that there is an alternative to the cabin verandah. Kind Regards Jenny

Sleepy Lagoon Motel is our first port of call when working in the area. The team are always welcoming and very hospitable. Our roofing crews are always taken care of very well, and they love staying there. You'd be hard pressed to find anywhere as good as this!

It was our 3rd time stay. Our last 2 experience our amazing ( 1st time motel , 2nd time hibiscus holiday house that is beautiful and this time different holiday house ,next to hibiscus one )so we were thrilled this time too to book here. 1st time we came just us 4 family members than 2nd time with my FIL and us 4. This time our friends from NZ came and we booked this holiday house.
This holiday house is so terrible. Might be good for people who are really broke and just need a place to sleep and cook. There was a couch that was half sunked in( it should be in garbage) resting chair in the room was all wobbly. Cooking pot and pans quality was so poor. The 2recliner in front to TV were also not in great shape, I would not even try to give it to someone for free.
I was extremely disappointed. Never going to book again.
Although I want to mention that the hibiscus holiday house is beautiful.
But never book this holiday house next to hibiscus one ,if you want a pleasant experience.

A basic but decent stay. Only stayed here for 1 night so we could do the dolphin feeding in the morning. It was a nice little motel, but pretty basic. It’s not very well sound proofed and being in warm Queensland, the place is only constructed of wood and thin single glazed windows. If you get a noisy neighbour you will know about it as we could hear talking from the room next door. Room itself was fine, decent double bed, small TV, little kitchenette, but no oven, dated bathroom but was fine. The air con/heater was very loud and one window was only a fly net and wooden slats. It’s next to a pub so again can get noisy. It was fine, but don’t expect luxury.

Warm welcome, clean and spacious cabin. Beds were comfy. Close to supermarket and places to eat. Lovely quiet atmosphere to relax and with lots of garden nooks to sit down and unwind. Carpark is spacious for those needing to sort out packing their 4WD before heading over to Fraser Island. We were also provided with an external power supply so we could charge up our batteries.

My family stayed in this place for a few nights. The motel's room was really clean, well presented with all essentials. The staff is naturally friendly, willing to facilitate all your needs and answer all your additional questions. The place has included WI-FI. The lovely trimmed gardens makes the motel more beautiful and relaxing. The location is really convenient, as it is in a walking distance to the park, beaches, shops, restaurant and 2 min driving from the feeding dolphins place. We'll definitely come back again!

Interesting place to stay. Each "room" is independent rather than in a block of rooms. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great bed but bring your own pillows as the one in the rooms are very flat.
We did find the bathroom quite small but it was only 1 night so not an issue. The room was very well equipped , with microwave, toaster, plates etc. Only negative was the TV, it was on the wall and the attachment was broken when we went to try to straighten the TV we found the back of the TV thick in dust. Not good as my partner is asthmatic.

Thank you for your great review and feedback. The beds and mattresses are all new and were installed with comfort in mind. The TV swivel attachment seemed to be working perfectly when we checked it and we immediately attended to the small amount dust at the back of the tv. Kind Regards Jenny

The rooms are excellent, spacious and spotless, very well equipped for a regional motel. The units are close together so some early morning noise can make sleeping in a challenge. Not having the car directly outside your unit makes for better ambience, but might inconvenience some travelers. Easy walk to Tin Can Bay attractions. Hotel is next door for food and drink.

Upon arrival we where greeted at reception by our host who couldn't have been more helpful.
Our room was both spotlessly clean and spacious with a comfy bed.
The grounds where beautifully presented, pub next door had great menu at a good price.
What more can I say?
Great value ,good location, very relaxing stay.

Hi,
All our beds are Queen size so that will work for you.
We advertise WiFi as being available at or near reception, we can see what we can do about putting you in a cabin that has limited reception.
We will put you in a quiet area.
See you in April.
Regards,
Paul
