We arrived here after a long trip and being unable to get accomodation at Tin Can Bay as all Caravan Parks were booked out, we made the extra trip to Rainbow Waters which was fairly empty (why) as we were booking in made the staff aware that we had 3 dogs between us ( 2 couples ) and were told... Dear KrisLisa Thank you for taking the time to review our Rainbow Beach park. Our holiday park is enjoyed by a variety of clientele and as such we have a duty of care to ensure all of our guests have an enjoyable stay. Therefore as much as we love dogs and welcome one dog per site there are others who... More

We had an unpowered site so we were able to choose where we wanted to park our caravan. Large bush area to choose from and wasn't crowded. Great camp kitchen with pizza oven and small oven. Large and clean amenities block. Location close to Rainbow beach and attractions and boat ramp down the road. powered sites were a bit expensive.

We spent a few nights there and found the park to be clean and quiet. It has a variety of sites but plenty of natural ones in between trees. The sunsets from their private jetty are magnificent. We heeded the warnings about sandflies and used repellent and mozzie sticks and had no problems, even though I am very attractive to... More

Dear Wendy B Thank you so much for your lovely review, the sunsets are pretty spectacular aren't they! Great to hear you came prepared and weren't bothered by the pesky neighbours, unfortunately midges are amongst one of the most complicated pest species to control and cannot be eradicated. In comparison to mosquitoes, poisoning midges does not work due to their... More

After a day on the road, Glenda and Errol offered a very warm welcome. I loved that the park was set away from the town so you really felt secluded. Stunning setting next to the forest and the water. The cabin was very comfortable and the facilities were generous for a holiday park.

We had a powered site for 2nights before going to Frazier Island & stored our van their for a week the storage is good value $20 for a week or $8 a day but at $39 a night for a fairly average park I might look around , nice hot showers though and sites are well spaced the sand with... More

Dear Duncan124 Thank you for taking the time to review our Rainbow Beach park, we have only recently purchased this park so appreciate all suggestions. The park is in a brilliant position on the shores of Great Sandy Straits and we are certainly looking at updating some of the facilities - but a nice hot shower is always top of... More

I camped here with my 13 month old and dog for 3 weeks and had a great time. The managers really went above and beyond to make our stay great and I can't thank them enough. With regards to other comments, yes there were lots of sand flies (and march flies at that particular time of year) but I would... More

Thank you so much for your outstanding 5 star review and kind words about our team! Unfortunately the great outdoors can come with some unpleasant neighbours, so thank you for your understanding. We have recently taken ownership of this park and are looking at options to mitigate the sandflies and midges - although we've been told that burning sandalwood sticks... More

Pros: great roomy, shady campsites. Clean facilities, great access to the boat ramp, dog friendly. Cons: midges galore, check in past 8pm not allowed (not really advertised but we're told when half way there) Would visit again but potentially in a cabin to avoid the midges.

A good place to stay. Plenty of bush camping sites plus powered sites and cabins. If bush camping stay away from waters edge due to midgies/mosquitos. Good amenities, bathrooms clean. Kiosk adequately stocked. Didn't like the 10am checkout requirement.

Just visited park for a 7 day camping holiday. Staff were pleasant and helpful but the park has only average facilities. Biggest downfall were the sand flies. Some members of our group were ready to pack up after only two days. Take plenty of repellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great camp ground, and we have been camping (non-powered site) at Rainbow Waters for the past 3 years as a group of 5+ people over the Easter long weekends. The camp ground is always clean, and the campground is spacious. It is a 5 minute drive into town, and a couple minutes walk to the waterfront/boat ramp.... More
