Freshly refurbished, this place used to be in very poor condition. They renewed everything and the rooms are now actually really good. If you have already been there before I recommend you try it again now! Cheers to the very nice people at rainbow beach

A short walk from rainbow beach and easy access to Fraser island. Frasers and dingos are part of the same branch now so there is shared access of both hostels facilities. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with ensuite bathroom. There is a chilled area by the pool with hammocks and shade. The kitchen facilities are very basic, but the... More

The reviews are true. Just do not book here. It looked like a backpackers dream on the website but when we arrived it was a construction site. All the buildings were empty shells full of building materials and work men were all over the place. There was no mention on the website of this. We read the sheet on the... More

Stay far away from this place. There's absolutely nothing there but a shutdown hostel with dirty rooms. The facilities you use aren't even the hostels but the one next door, which inturn is very cramped/unclean in the kitchen etc. We weren't even sure if it was open when we arrived as it looked like an abandoned building site with mess... When I arrived at Frasers the whole hostel was under construction! There was nobody at reception and I had to walk to the next hostel (Dingos) where I could do the check-in. There was a lot of confusion not about the room but about my planned trip to go to Fraser Island. Dingos (the other hostel) offers tours of its... More

I stayed here for 2 nights prior to the Fraser trip and 1 night after. It's not exactly upscale... The first dorm (8 beds) had two fans, one that didn't sweep from left to right... 2 power sockets when they know that everybody needs to charge up everything they got cause there's no way to charge batteries on the island... I arrived, completely unaware that my travel company (Base Travel) had booked my into a closed down hostel, and was put in an 8 bed dorm by myself. Nice to get some time alone after staying in hostels for months, but definitely not ideal when travelling alone Plus the fact its an old hostel and every noise had me wondering... More

I stayed here with my friend for 2 nights in total. One before our tour and one when we came back. We had booked everything from the car so we did not know what to expect but we had to have a room in rainbow as we would arrive late. When we arrived there we had to check in at... More

My friend and I stayed in this hostel because our travelagent booked this for us as part of our fraser island tour. We arrived late and we had to check in in the bar. They just took our money and gave us keys, and we had to figure out where to go ourselves. Once arrived in the room, it was... More
