Rolled up and booked in last minute to stay with a friend over the weekend.. Very budget friendly, but a beautiful atmosphere and a very welcoming group of staff.. Was offered a beaut deal for a shared dinner with a group of backpackers happy to share their priceless travel stories.. Grateful for another beautiful stay in one of my favourite... More

Backpackers at 1770 is an awesome little place and has everything you would wish for in a hostel! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this friendly, chilled out, home away from home. The hostel staff are friendly and welcoming and invited us out 4WDing with them, which was well worth giving our car a bashing! This hostel was recommended to... More

The place has a really relaxed vibe, crew is very open and welcoming. Delicious fresh and healthy food for only 5$ every night. And if you're lucky there's a late night snack for 2$ as well! Rooms and en-suites are cleaned every single day and they actually clean it very well. For the ladies: this does mean guys from the... More

Amazing atmosphere and great people. Everyone was super friendly and helpful with anything you asked. Great rooms, clean, everything you need around. The staff there was awesome to talk to. Only got to stay for one night but would stay again at any chance.

One of the cleanest hostel kitchens we ever been. The facilities are all clean - toilets, showers, rooms. The staff is very friendly, the only thing they should consider is giving Donna a permanent job at the hostel!! Thanks for the nice stay

Totally appreciate the fantastic feedback. Donna has submitted her CV and it's under scrutiny as we speak. Big call moving from Melbourne, watch this space ! More

A very relaxing hostel with campfires in the evening. The staff is friendly and relaxed. The room was quite big with a shower. I also hired a bike and surfboard for a good price. The Greyhound stop is just a few minutes walk from the hostel.

Great hostel with friendly staff and a good vibe. I visit with my teenage sons and there's always plenty to do- surfing, paragliding (that's just me on the dunes, not like an official activity but if you've got your own gear and your passing...), net resting walks, bikes to hire and nice pubs. The hostel is super convenient for the... More

Staid here with two friends for three nights. Loved the peace and tranquility of 1770, last place on the east coast where you can surf and this hostel was perfect for our stay. Friendly staff and clean spacious rooms. We even learned some basic pai!

I stayed in Agnes Water for 4 nights. All of them in the 1770's Backpackers! The hostel is clean and the rooms are nice. Even though a 10 share seems a bit big, it never really bothered because of the room each dorm provides. You'll get free lockers and free WiFi! Also you can enjoy cooked dinners in the evening... I stayed here in March, and even though the rooms and the whole hostel was super great, that wasn't even the best thing. So basically I forgot paper copies of my visa, my passport and a bunch of other really important papers in our room when I checked out. The employees were so helpful as to e-mail me (my email...
