Detailed Reviews
This is a small caravan park in a very pretty setting with well-watered and maintained green space. Sites are quite narrow but reasonably long so it was possible to stay hitched for an overnight stay.
Adjacent to the store/bar/servo/pool providing plenty of services within the complex. The amenities were excellent and there is a good camp kitchen.
A top spot to stay prior to heading into Kakadu.

WOW what an amazing find in the NT.
Check in was just so easy and we were greeted with the friendliest staff ever. Our site was beautifully maintained with lovely green grass and beautiful gardens all around the park and the pool area. The amenities here are very unique, clean and quirky and I’ve never seen anything like them before on our travels. Great camp kitchen if you want to do your own cooking.
We ate at the Tavern a few nights as the meals were amazing and everything was reasonably priced and the wild caught Barramundi is to die for. There’s also a duke-box, pool tables and TV s to watch or just sit and have a icy cold Lazy Lizard Lager.

Love this place! Tavern food was great and would have given 5 stars but.... the cleanliness of the rooms was disappointing. Accommodation is not cheap, and no discounts offered....ever, so would expect the rooms to be a lot cleaner. The pool wasn't overly clean, and a lot of fans were not working... some things seem to need a little TLC.

Cannot recommend the dongas on site . Changed rooms due to some things not working (reading lamp, no mirror in bathroom, television not working, toilet flooding). Woman at counter made me feel very uncomfortable for changing rooms - friendly customers service not a priority. Also, couldn't use pool in the morning as they were putting chlorine in. Would recommend staying at the Railway Resort next door for just a little bit extra money - rooms are gorgeous and well looked after making you feel as though you're in Italy!

Only booked the day before our one night stay, so was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with this small but well manicured park.Sites were well grassed, beautiful quirky shower block with the use of kegs for hand basins, cisterns etc matched with jarrah and corrugated irons sheets. Lovely bar area with nice pool, we only had drinks but most people seemed to be enjoying the food coming out from the kitchen. Would definitely stay again if in the area,

+1
Booked overnight staying coming out of Litchfield and travelling next day up into Southern Kakadu
Bar/pub fantastic. Atmosphere and staff great.
When booking into accomodation, staff not so friendly.
Booked online budget double - budget is an understatement
Old donga, hot, filthy, mould, ants, no toilet role, skid marks in the toilet.
When I asked if any other accom as it was a disgrace, told all booked up ( but only saw 2 cars in front of the 6 cabins all night?)
We slept in our clothes trying to avoid touching the sheets and had small bites on our exposed areas in the morning
Disgraceful!!!!

Definitely worth the stopover! Get in early gets busy! Delicious takeaway coffee (at last) cool rustic tav 2 feet away from the caravan park pool.
Best garlic prawns ever!!!! And some cool snakes to look at if you walk around the side. The train museum was interesting ($2 entry) kids free and also the tin mine. (Free) walk up onto the steel lookouts and look down!!! Great spot

The camp site is OK, but the lady manager unhelpful and unfriendly. We asked to put in an electric cord for an hour or two so we could boost our batteries, for payment of course, but she refused and made us book and pay for a site overnight. We left after two hours, wouldn’t stay there again.

Lazy lizard tavern..
I was pleasantly surprised apon entry as everything about the bar and dining area was aesthetically pleasing to look at. From the detailed carvings in the structural support posts to the wagon wheels forged in the 1800's embedded in the mud bricks of the walls to the historical photography on the walls not too crammed packed with clutter but tastefully decorated in pine creek and surrounding gold mining history.
Highly recommend the slight detour from the highway particularly if you have never dropped by even just to check it out once to see the wooden bar layout.
A slab has just been poured adjoining tavern area for a museum and machinery display that has a rough opening time Feb 2023.
I will definitely be dropping by to check out the progress next year on the museum. Sounds like a labour of love in the making..
Thanks to Jake behind the bar for just having a really good vibe to the place and being there🙏

We didn't originally have any plans to stay here but pulling in for fuel it looked interesting so we booked a powered site for one night. We walked up to the tavern in the afternoon for Happy Hour and had a couple of drinks. this is an interesting place with displays of snakes in one area and vintage cars/ motorbikes out the back of the tavern.
