Beautiful little spot, plenty of shade and big spacious sites to choose from. Rustic but spotlessly clean amenities. Lots of space for the kids to explore. Short walk to springs but feels longer in the heat! Quiet and restful night for us.

I had to make a quick trip to Mataranka to check out Bitter Springs. I decided to get a cabin at Bitter Springs Camp Ground & Cabins. This is at the end of tourist season so the camp ground was not full but had enough people to see that it was being used. My cabin could sleep about six people... More

Affordable & quiet, an ideal spot walking distance from Bitter Springs - well worth the drive from Darwin. Thermal water sounds a strange experience to seek in the heat of the Top End - but very refreshing & an amazing natural place

We had a relaxing stay fir 3 nights when we on l y meant to have an overnighter. We visited the spring every day and just layed back enjoying the clear warm water of the springs. Went along the river and had a flick for a barra but nothing doing yet. Clean and tidy amenities and good large powered sites.

An easy drive down from Darwin and a pleasant swim in the springs. Cabin very comfortable and clean. No restaurant so had to go up the road to have dinner which was fine but had to drive. Similarly no breakfast so headed off to Daly Waters early.

Heading south from Darwin was recommended to try Bitter Springs for stopover. After traveling 400 odd kms pulled in to stay .Park had plenty of sites all dirt but reasonable size set up and went to thermal pools. Bloody beautiful way to unwind after driving then several corona's to relax. Recommend as a stopover.

A good park, safe and friendly. Clean unisex facilities, different because they are a converted shed but all shower/toilet/basins. Walk 700m to thermal springs. Nothing special about it though. No grassed sites. Plenty of termite mounds to look at.

We chose to stay at this campground due to its proximity to Bitter Springs. The campground/caravan park is quiet and tranquil, with excellent tree cover that contributes to its relaxing tropical atmosphere. We had an unpowered site which was large in size - our back-opening camper trailer, large 4WD and large enclosed gazebo fitted easily on the site, with heaps... More

Have stayed at mataranka homestead but this was much better. Not as close to the thermal pools but much cleaner with far superior facilities for the same price. Would always stay here for a visit to Mataranka. Stayed on a powered site. Just used the communal ammenities but there is a choice to have an ensuite site if you pay... More

The facilities are basic but adequate. The sites are reasonable and provide some nice shade. The owners are very friendly and helpful. But this is the best place to enjoy the natural beauty of bitter springs.

This campground is an ideal base to explore the Never Never Region and Elsey National Park. CABINS: Our fully self contained cabins are stylish and well appointed. They have ensuite toilet and shower and are well spaced for privacy. The cabins have all the requirements for you to have a relaxing and enjoyable break.
