We had a lovely time here, it was really beautiful but I was a bit let down with Bitter Springs, it was pretty murky compared with some of the other places in the NT I've swam.. but maybe that's just me! Surrounding nature was beautiful and accomodation was lovely and clean. Owner was helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

The people here were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The grounds are lovely and shady, but you're camping on black dirt/mud. If you're prepared for that, it's a beautiful spot. It's a close walk through the bush and partly down the road, to the beautiful Bitter Springs thermal pools. The showers were hot with a generous spray, luxurious... More

Have parked our Motorhome at Mataranka thermal pool area and we are staying for 4 days. Beautiful spot to stay with wildlife abounding in the local area. We went for a walk yesterday evening and saw multiple wildlife in the late evening such as wild pigs, wallabies, parrots, crocodiles, flying fox's, peacocks, and they were all great. The freshwater crocodiles... More

Away from Melbourne's cold and in the Northern Territory for a short stay, we were delighted to arrive at Bitter Springs Cabins & Camping (new name) at Mataranka. Four adults were comfortable in the 5 berth cabin which was newish and spotlessly clean. we cooked and barbequed while there. The vista from our verandah was awesome, over the red earth,... More

Easy 5, welcoming people, great spot camping on the river, perfect tropical bush retreat. Great place to have a fish and swim, dog friendly. Camping spaces are bigger than other parks, will be coming back longer next time.

We stayed here in the cabin for one night. The cabin is small but has everything you need for a short stay. Two brahm bulls joined us for our evening barbeque and a very tame wallaby joined us for breakfast on the verandah in the morning. We had our own clothes line and barbeque and undercover parking. The bed was... More

For the third year in a row we stopped here. The camping sites are pleasant, the amenities (built from basic materials) are great, especially the en suite bathrooms affording welcome privacy as well as plenty of hooks, ledges, mirror, hand wash liquid and paper towels - rare in most caravan parks. There is a very useful camp kitchen and laundry... More

We stayed two nights in a self contained cabin which was immaculate and well equipped. The cabins are located at the back of the park which is a nice quiet location. The laundry facilities in the park were good and each cabin has its own clothes line. The park is out of town and only a 5 - 10 minute... More

Good campsite location; close to Bitter Springs, but way too dusty and allot of black ash lying around after burn off. Not all campsites are allowed wood fires too, and you are not allowed to burn any discarded wood found in the camp area.
