First time visiting Mataranka and definitely off-peak season as the town had no after hours places to eat over the weekend. Anyway back to the accommodation - we did not get the family cabin that we were expecting from the pictures we saw and got a tiny 6x4 metre 'donga'...and do you know the reason why we didn't get the...

The Mataranka Roadhouse stayed open during the public holidays to ensure travelers could obtain fuel, food and have a place to stay during this period. In Mataranka we often face challenges of power outages and unfortunately not everything reconnects correctly. The tv is intermittent due to the storms. We do have a range of rooms to suit different budgets and...

We stayed in a family cabin at the Mataranka Roadhouse. The staff at the roadhouse could not do enough for us. They were so friendly and very helpful. The cabins are very clean and we appreciated small things like the Sheridan towels - quite unexpected! Accommodation is slim pickings in Mataranka and we found this the perfect spot to explore...

Not too bad after staying in the other options in Mataranka this has been clearly the best in our view. Just basic cabins set in a bit of garden so you dont feel like you are staying in a dust yard Mataranka Style... Nice people run the roadhouse, beds good enough, linen fine, shower a bit dodgy buy hey..it is...

I stopped in and stayed the night for the second time in less than a year, owners have done renovations and spruced the place up a bit. Fuel and food was reasonably priced. The rooms are still very comfortable and staff more then willing to help.

Cabins behind Mataranka Roadhouse (north side of town), with a nice terrace in between and lush vegetation. The cabins are easily overlooked from the highway. I think they are a bit expensive for what they are: small cabins (but given the options on the Stuart Highway and the often not so favourable reviews, it is probably still good value for...

We only stopped in here for a late night through heading towards Darwin. The Roadhouse is right along the Stuart Highway. Accommodation is cheap, basic, but clean and the cooked big breakfast was more than appealing. There are only 14 small cabins and there is a laundry on site which is handy.

Booked overnight accommodation was cancelled due to maintenance issues, we were then booked into the roadhouse. Staff were friendly and helpful, unit was basic, clean, with an air conditioner and there was tea and coffee. The roadhouse also has meals at realistic prices.

Clean room and lovely staff. Not 5 star accommodation but it did our family of 4 well for a 1 night stay and would definitely recommend for a short stay. It was a tasty cooked breakfast at the roadhouse. We would recommend it to anyone traveling through Mataranka.

Have used this place a few times. Good clean cabins, great food and plenty of parking, both over the road and at the cabins. Food is always good and the big breakfast is to die for. Backpacker staff but all friendly and happy to help. Love this place
