WORST INTERNET EVER EXPERIENCED IN ALL MY YEARS OF TRAVELLING, ABSOLUTELY DIABOLICAL, I AM SURE SOMEONE SAID IN A REVIEW THE INTERNET WAS EXCELLENT, WELL IT IS NOT!!! IF YOU WANT TO STAND NEXT TO THE RECEPTIONIST, EXCELLENT, TAKE 2 STEPS OUT THE DOOR ROUND THE POOL, NOTHING, ROOM ABOVE RECEPTION, NOTHING, WE WERE IN AFRICA AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE INTERNET IN THE HOTEL OR IN THE ROOM, AND THEY ARE A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY!!! ALSO SO PEOPLE KNOW, WE MAILED THE HOTEL 4 TIMES AS A CERTAIN BOOKING COMPANY ADVISED TO ASK IF HAD HAIRDRYER OR IRON SO TO MAKE OUR LUGGAGE LIGHTER, NOT ONE REPLY, BUT SO AS YOU KNOW, THERE IS A HAIRDRYER BUT NO IRON, ONE MORE THING I CANNOT BELIEVE NO ONE MENTIONED IN THEIR REVIEWS, YOU GET DROPPED BY COACH, THE DRIVER ASKED DID WE KNOW WHERE THE HOTEL WAS, WE SAID NO, SO HE EXPLAINED WHERE TO GO, EVEN THOUGH WE WENT RIGHT BY IT WITH 2 CASES AND HAND LUGGAGE, IT IS ABOUT A 1/4 OF A MILE FROM WHERE COACH DROPS YOU OFF, ALL DOWNHILL, IF YOU ARE ELDERLY OR DISABLED IN ANY WAY IT IS GOING TO TAKE AT LEAST 20 TO 25 MINS TO GO BACK "UP" TO THE COLLECTION POINT PLUS TIME ALLOWED TO GET EARLY TO CATCH THE COACH, LET ME TELL YOU THE HILL BACK IS REALLY STEEP AND IF YOU ARE PULLING SUITCASES ETC. BACK UP THERE YOU NEED TO BE FIT, AND I MEAN FIT, WE ARE FIT AND LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS A STRUGGLE AND HARD WORK, I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS NOT MENTIONED ON HERE OR IN ANY OF THE REVIEWS I READ, SO AS I SAY IF YOU ARE ELDERLY OR DISABLED CHECK IT OUT, I HAVE A FRIEND THERE NOW AND GOING TO ASK HIM WHEN HE LEAVES TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE CLIMB BACK, HOPE THIS HELPS

I don't recommend this place at all,Stayed last Sept for hb week, 2 separate rooms which had really old furniture, beds were rusty and hard, no entertainment and smoking everywhere,I had a thick black hair in my cup at breakfast from milk jug and 3 black people men worked in the kitchen with thick black hair, there were old statues and rubbish outside room, and smell of the cheap cleaning stuff in room was overpowering,we had to leave after a few nights and pay for a better hotel as drug dealers were going into a door on street opposite my room, AVOID THIS AWFUL HOTEL.

People smoke cigarettes everywhere, even while swimming in the pool. guests often smoke weed too. There is little space by the pool in the hotel. There are approximately 35 sunbeds for approximately 200 guests. If you are British you will get worst room without balcony and on 2nd floor. The service is nice and the food is very good. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially to families with children ..

We booked this for a weeks holiday in August and throughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful (especially Amaya) who spoke excellent English. The room was functional with twin beds, wardrobe (plenty of hangers and safe), chair, desk and separate bathroom. We didn't have a balcony but had a patio door that we could open and sit by. The beds were very comfortable and reception provided us both with an extra pillow on request. The room was clean and was cleaned most days. They missed us on the last but one day so I had to go and ask at Reception for towels but as the room was very clean it didn't really matter. The breakfast was nice and plentiful with lots of options to suit all tastes. The swimming pool area was nice with sunbeds, deckchairs and tables and chairs around. The side where you came out of the hotel didn't get the sun until later in the day so you could always get a bed there. Swimming pool was cold (but I'm not the greatest fan of swimming anyway!) and had a jacuzzi effect every so often. This was ok but be aware to not leave anything under the sunbed as it could get wet. The bar was a nice area to be and the staff who worked there were lovely. The hotel was in a good position as it was only a 5 minute walk to the sea, shopping area and bus station. There is a supermarket opposite so you didn't have to walk too far with heavy bags back to the hotel. Once the patio door was closed you couldn't hear much traffic outside the room and we had a blackout curtain and voile which enabled us to sleep well. As with most hotels you could hear the people in the next room and walking down the corridor but this didn't bother us much. I would go back again but hopefully next time we could have a room with a balcony.

Can't fault the staff so I'll start on a positive. But if you're English you'll be an outcast there's so many Russian,German,Dutch they for some reason think that your an outcast and will discriminate against you. We stayed 9th to 13th September and where greeted very well by the receptionist and as we were early happily let us put our cases in the locked room so we could come back later when we could check in. The problems started when we were given our rooms 2 of our party had a room with lots of space and 4 beds but ours was next door and resembled a police cell with bars on the windows and no balcony. We went straight down to reception to ask to be moved and were told to come back tomorrow but we wanted changing there and then so 5 mins later got a room phone call stating they had another room so had a look and what with it having a balcony we accepted it and thought that would be alright. How wrong could we of been due to the fact the following day 6 people from Holland checked in and they had stayed there previously and expected to have our room because the other 2 rooms they had on that floor should of extended to 3 rooms but we had been moved so 2 of there party had to be allocated on the floor above (directly above us) And christ didn't they let it be known. The walls/ceilings are paper thin and they made such a noise deliberately causing me to threaten 2 of there party that if they were to carry on I was quite happy to climb the low rise divide between rooms and throw him of the balcony but for some reason he hid behind his patio door refusing to come out of his room.We were half board and only ate there once for evening meal as it was pants at best Luke warm food with no imagination on cuisine but they do provide 2 microwaves lol. The breakfast was just as bad. After the events that had happened we tried to make piece cause we had to stay next to each other but the atmosphere was rife. The only department that could improve are the cleaning staff as my wife is diabetic type 1 so test hers levels throughout the day and on one occasion a drop of blood had dropped on the floor and it was still on floor our last day so they didn't mop the floors only sweep. In a nutshell if your English and thick skinned who ain't bothered that you can hear ya neighbour going toilet or coughing up phlegm, with meals that are at best below average then la palmera is for you.

This hotel is a Very nice place to stay. We stayed here 7 nights and we felt very well. The rooms are great, large and the bathroom is very nice and clean also. The staff is great, very friendly, and very helpfull. The meals here are impresive, very variat food every day. The pool is great, with a separate bar, and sunbeds around it. The hotel is placed very close of the bar and restaurants area, so you can reach them in a 5 minute walk. I definitely recommande it!

We stayed as bed and breakfast. Transfer coach has to drop you 4 minutes away due to narrow streets. Bare in mind a 2 hour transfer time when you choose your flights! We found all staff friendly, and the choices at breakfast good. Pool area nice. Being a town centre location you can here traffic. Very convenient for the town and beach. Our room was ok, balcony was simply patio door opening onto a railing, and on one day we were missed by the cleaners. You can here people in the corridors at night, but it didnt cause us problems.
