We had three rooms on the top floor with views over the estuary. Our rooms were clean and wam, with bottled water provided every day. Coffee from downstairs was delicious. It was a quiet time in the hotel and we had great service. The owner was very friendly and helpful: nothing was too much trouble. His English was perfect. The...

There are clearly some fans of this hotel based on previous reviews and the staff are very helpful but the reality did not quite match reviews or the website images. We found the town to be very much 'end of season' with not much to offer by way of restaurants. The town looks rather unloved and could do with tidying...

I wouldn't ever go back. You can hear every movement, in every sense of you neighbours. It is a 2 star place and lives down to its star rating. 2 bad nights , and chains being pulled all round. The village has nothing of interest, though a nice beech for surfers. 1 decent restaurant which closes Thursday at least. Avoid.

We were booked for two nights in June. Easily found, with an adequate secure car park. An older style building, with plenty of character, located on one of the village squares a stones throw from the sea. The staff were welcoming, friendly, informative and some spoke more than passable English. Our 1st floor room, facing the front of the square...

We stayed here for two nights in room 22 on the first floor. The room was perfect, clean and warm, with comfy beds, small but fine bathroom, wardrobe, fridge, small desk and an enclosed balcony overlooking the area just before the water - you could also see the water. The hotel owner was very helpful and friendly. We were travelling...

We booked into this hotel the night before catching our ferry home from Bilbao. Its main attraction for us had been the locked private parking (parking is a nightmare in Mundaka) but we were really pleased to discover our room was well-appointed and very comfortable. We had originally booked into 'Hotel Mundaka' but had to cancel on arrival as their...

I booked this for just one night to break our journey to the Bilbao ferry. The hotel was perfect - clean, comfortable and with a very welcoming chap on the desk. Even better, secure parking from my car! Due to the time of year Mundaka itself did not offer much in the way of eating choices - so we ate...

Great little 'boutique' hotel in the heart of this charming village. Super friendly staff and no complaints whatsoever! It does get slightly hot in the rooms at night and yes there are some Mosquitos when you have the balcony doors open. All I can say is take some repellent, you start sticking air con hotels in tiny fishing villages you...

Located centrally on the square and in getting of the church, Atalaya is recommendable just for its location. The room was large and the bathroom too. The staff was super friendly and the hotel has a nice bar/restaurant at the ground floor. Best recommendations for this hotel:)
