I have visited the Atlas mountains on numerous occasions as I am always blown away by the stunning scenery and virtually unspoilt landscape - it's a must visit place for me every few years. This time I was recommended a new hotel/villa complex (sorry if complex sounds a bit naff, it's more like a haven! :-) ) In brief: The location was stunning, the gardens are incredible and the people cannot do enough for you. There is plenty of space to roam around and lose yourself or sip cocktails by the infinity pool with the most amazing views. You could simply spend the time relaxing or explore any of the great walks in the region, or a bit of both. The manager and staff will help you out and sort lifts, transfers etc - everything you need to make the most of the Atlas mountains. My only slight criticism is that they need to get wifi and Internet sorted, particularly as my mobile operator charged extra in Morocco for downloading and using Google maps. I was told it was due very soon, so worth checking that it has arrived. Other than that, I will be back again in 2 years to take on Toubkal!

What an amazing location at the foot of the Atlas mountains with breathtaking views worth getting up early for to really take in the full beauty! If you love nature and walking, the gardens are sumptuous and there are so many amazing treks and fabulous routes to choose from- you are spoiled for choice! Once you're back at the hotel the service and food is fantastic, all served up in luxurious surroundings. It was truly one of the friendliest and warmest stays I have experienced!

Just got back from a fabulous stay at L'Amandier. It truly is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The whole experience was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and attentive, the food was amazing, the manager Aidan was excellent and thought of everything - from a refreshing welcome drink when you arrive to arranging trips or whatever you need. I felt truly looked after. The pool was beautiful - so refreshing and clean and that view - it doesn't get better. So if you're looking for a relaxing escape from Marrakesh, you can't get better than this. Also great for group bookings. I will be back for sure. Thank you.

We loved our stay here...it's pure calm making it a fantastic complement to the hustle-bustle of Marrakech. You can't help but slow down and take in the beauty of the surrounds...the red earth, big skies, mountains...all stunning. The hotel itself is also beautiful...simple elegance, modern lines, tasteful Moroccan detail. We will be going back as soon as possible!

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I say a hotel but actually it feels more like a large country house with you drifting through it for a swim or a meal or a drink before wandering back through the gorgeous gardens to you villa, there to sunbathe next to your own dip pool. The place is quiet and not at all crowded. We felt we had the place to ourselves. If you want an utterly relaxing holiday, this is for you. It is an utter gem. Our villa was beautifully and simply decorated with all the facilities you’d expect of this level of hotel. It was also huge with spectacular views and lovely lawned gardens. The service here is understated but very attentive. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble whether it was advising us on a route through the mountains to a selected destination or finding a couple of tennis rackets for my son and I to play in the evening. We were given a phone that had direct access to the manager and so ordering a few more of whatever we needed was easy. The setting is spectacular. The views of the hills and mountains that encircle this place are extraordinarily beautiful both day and night - I loved sitting out watching the stars on the roof. The food is delicious. Locally sourced ingredients used in clever recipes and great variety. The local rose wine was some of the best I’ve tasted. Breakfast was served at our villa every morning - huge jugs of freshly squeezed orange juice, rhubarb jam, yoghurt and fruit compote, local types of pancakes and sizzling Moroccan omelettes...... why am I not on a plane back there right now?! In the evening we wandered down to the hotel for a drink by the pool and watch the sun go down. Candle light seemed everywhere ! And then full of chef’s delicious cuisine we would wind our way back through the gardens guided by one of the staff with a torch. Magical. I guess the last comment would have to be about how my 20 and 22 year old sons felt about it: all I can say is that neither wanted to leave and we cancelled a planned trip to another part of Morocco in order to stay another three days. They loved it. I would recommend L’Amandier to anyone.
