We choose this as an option to a hotel but will definitely re-book as a destination! House was clean and well appointed with all we needed. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we requested to move the second night due to a noisy late-night crowd next door. The management did not hesitate to move us to a more remote unit. This was just a blip in an otherwise great weekend!

Our toddler got a big kick out of staying here, as did we! The people who designed this place know what they're doing. Super cute & modern tiny houses (yes, they have steep steps, not sure what else you'd expect!). Tastefully designed, comfy queen bed in the loft, lots of light switches everywhere so you don't have to climb down the stairs to turn the lights off from bed. So many windows to let the light in, but excellent blinds that block out the light if you wanna sleep in. Each group of four tiny homes has its own fire pit and picnic bench. How friggin cute is that?! Plus the place was all decked out for the holidays with lights and snowmen and it just felt really special. I love that you can't park your car right next to the homes because it gave it a real small town vibe to just have it as a walk/bike only place. River & Twine has created a super thoughtful guidebook that you will see when you arrive. I wish every place had this - it includes menus from local breweries & restaurants. Let's just say they know their audience ;) Rocky Mount Mills - the converted mill in walking distance - is a really cool space, and I can't wait to visit again post-pandemic. We were able to get curbside pickup from the coffee shop, Books & Beans, and it was delicious. The only thing I would ask R&T to change is to somehow make it obvious if homes were occupied - we arrived late and were very quiet, but I don't think anyone else was actually staying in our little four home pod. Anywho, I haven't felt this compelled to write a positive review in a long while. The place was clean as a whistle. Contactless check-in and check-out. What more can you ask for, especially during a pandemic?! If you're traveling along the 95 corridor, you won't find a better place to stay!

We stayed here for one evening after a bike trip. It seemed like an appealing idea due to the pandemic and my husband and I wanted to experience a tiny home. The units are exactly as they look on the website, but look closely at the steps to the sleeping loft and the TINY bathroom. We were impressed by the cleanliness and the inviting and attractive outdoor environment. Unloading/loading is permitted on the site, but parking is across the street in the RM Mills lot, which is very close. As mentioned in other reviews, dining is not an issue since River and Twine is attached to the Rocky Mount Mills which has multiple dining options (we ate at Tap 1918 which was very enjoyable). One reviewer mentioned that they used the barbque, which we did not need and did not look for. However, be aware that guests wanting to use the barbque would need to bring everything- plates, utensils, cooking items, etc. There was nothing in the unit except a roll of paper towels. The loft bed's mattress was comfortable and on the floor. There is no headroom at all. An adult would need to bend all the way over once up in the loft. When sitting up in bed, I scraped my head on the celing (I am 5'3"). The steps are very steep, which was an issue due to my arthritic knees. I would not consider attempting them in the middle of the night in the dark- a disaster waiting to happen. All in all, we are glad we experienced a tiny home hotel experience, but don't think we would book another visit any time soon.

Having seen tiny houses on TV and read about them, we've always wanted to stay in one just out of curiosity. We booked a room on a Thursday night and it was kind of eerie since I think we were the only people staying in the entire compound -- we didn't see a soul until the next morning. It was unique but we probably won't do it again. The steps up to the loft bed are really steep, there is one sink (no bathroom sink), and we had a few mosquitoes with us. It was nice that they included a map to Rocky Mount Mills along with menus and a coupon for coffee. There were outdoor fire pits but not really available for use in early September (they were also waterlogged). Contactless check-in was interesting since they emailed us a punchcode for our unit's lock and we never had to pick up a key. There was a Keurig and some coffee pods but it would have been nice to have other options like tea. I'm sure many people will enjoy this but having done it once, that's about good for us.

WOW! From working with Julie on our reservaftion, to the INCREDBILE Cleaniness of the grounds and homes, we were impressed immediately. Then we explored our 4 tiny homes and we were in love. Everything you need for a great stay. Truly comfortable beds, linens and amenities. We LOVED the tiny S'mores kit! Rocky Mount Mills was steps away. We tried all the beer, all the cocktails, all the food, and hiked along the River Trail. The grounds were quiet, there were two huge gas grills for us to cook on, and all 8 friends achieved total relaxation. The tokens to get free beer samples worked exactly as they wanted....we bought lots of beer.... Tipsy Tomato-Nice crust, good flavors, perfect with all the local brews TBC Taco - Darn good picnic table dining, lots of flavor, great service! Tap 1918 - OMG Burger w/garlic aioli--then we stopped in for late drinks--cocktails were A+++ and the YEAST ROLLS--Go and eat just one...I dare you! Delish!!! perfect dessert with that yummy Vodka Spritz.... PROS-Everything I said above. If you are tall, reach out and ask which home has a nice vaulted sleeping space. Unique experience, nice people, Power Mills, short drive from Raleigh, and a great stopping point for travelers going up and down the coast. CONS-Someone will find one. If you want a long stay, the lack of a burner to cook on might be one? We really felt that we had everything we needed!!!
